To think people are missing the main point that Brooklyn Beckham is trying to reveal ?

Firstly I know the goings on of this family are not important news and there are more important things to worry about in the world .
But I’m finding it surprising that people are fixating on things like the wedding dress and the dancing . There are a couple of points in his statements when he is clearly saying what I have always believed- that David and Victoria are not a couple as they like to portray . I’ve always thought David’s disdain of her is quite obvious in the way he talks to her and that she appears lost and soulless but intent on preserving the brand .
BB says “ 'The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
Then - “ media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.'”

To me it seems obvious what he is hinting at ?

Or…. Just utterly disinterested

I dont think that new news though is it? I don't think anyone believes they're a normal couple with a normal relationship. They are a staggeringly successful brand, but I don't most people would recognise how they live as a marriage or a family.

GreenPoms · 20/01/2026 15:06

I’m not sure what point you are trying to make

Shedmistress · 20/01/2026 15:07

Duck me not another one.

I dont ducking care.

Thistooshallpass. · 20/01/2026 15:08

i think lots of people believe they are a devoted couple ! Especially after recent documentaries selling this .
and yes I agree lots of people are disinterested - as I said it’s not that important just interesting that I think the main point has been missed .

OP posts:
Thistooshallpass. · 20/01/2026 15:08

If you don’t care then why bother to comment ?!

It’s really easy to not comment on threads you don’t care about. I manage it every single day!
I agree OP. There’s definitely an underlying (but very clear!) message there.

Wapentake · 20/01/2026 15:10

OP, this isn't a hard-hitting bit of journalism revealing some important truth about a major international situation that we should all pore over.

This is a nepo baby complaining about his diamond shoes being too tight.

Anyone who glances at it is just looking for details that amuse them.

GreenPoms · 20/01/2026 15:06

Er the point that I made in the opening post ? That the subtext of his statement is that they are not a couple !!

OP posts:
MrTwisterHasABlister · 20/01/2026 15:11

I thought the same OP. ‘Inauthentic relationships’ is the most telling line IMHO.

Newyearsameme26 · 20/01/2026 15:12

I don't understand why they want more and more. They have all the fame and money they could ever want. Why don't they retire from public view, either together or apart? I just don't understand why nothing is ever enough.

xanthomelana · 20/01/2026 15:12

I think the most glaringly obvious thing from his post is he didn’t write it. I suppose when you marry into a family with money you can afford the best PR.

Yet here you are.

I agree OP, having read the House of Beckham, much of what Brooklyn is saying fits in with Tom Bowers observation. Brand Beckham is ever his parents and no amount of money will ever be enough to.

202617thjan · 20/01/2026 15:13

Oh yes, I hadn't noticed that.

Agree. He may not have chosen it but has willingly used his name and parentage more than once to open doors and grease wheels. His photography would not have been published on its own merits, for example. I doubt he would ever have met his wife, let alone married her, without being a nepo baby. If he really meant any of what has been published in his name it would not be all over the media but private. The public nature is afar more aggressive stance towards his family and their “work”. He is vying for media space with likes of Prince Harry but frankly who cares about what is fundamentally a domestic dispute over a vacuous brand and the way they chose to raise their dc,

FuzzyWolf · 20/01/2026 15:27

I thought everyone viewed them as brand and most people were aware enough to know celebrities and those in the media are rarely as they are portrayed, so I can’t see why people would have thought otherwise.

I also think that just as a result of his upbringing, Brooklyn will have a very different and distorted view of what things like control and privacy actually are. His life has no reflection on what most his age have experienced but his perception will be genuine to him, even if not to others. That doesn’t necessarily make it true or false.

BillieWiper · 20/01/2026 15:30

I don't think anyone's missing the jist of what he's trying to say. It's plain as a sledgehammer to the face.

What I don't get is what was stopping him from just quietly doing a normal job, getting an education and acting and being just a regular person. If all the trappings of celebrity and publicity etc weren't his thing.

He could've just said at 16, I'm going to get an apprenticeship, I'm going to use a diff. surname to make sure there's no favouritism and I want to try and save up for my own little flat, slowly build my career and have a family with a normal young woman. But he didn't because he didn't like the idea of having to do any hard work.

Now he's cosseted by the Peltz billions, he can finally 'speak his truth' and continue to never have to do any hard work. Safe in the knowledge that if his parents cut him off financially he'll still be loaded for life.

pizzaHeart · 20/01/2026 15:30

Obviously their family relationships were not normal, too much focus on how they were portrayed in the media.
I pity both sides but Brooklyn has different position here - they are his parents and bear more responsibility.

KaleidoscopeSmile · 20/01/2026 15:31

I'm more surprised that you've started ANOTHER thread about it and now it's in active with all the others

Some celebrities have offspring who live their lives away from the spotlight, but I think BB probably has never been anything other than DB and VB's PFB.

Berlinlover · 20/01/2026 15:36

We’ve all known since 2004 that their marriage was a sham.

well I didnt quite get that so I appreciated the OPs post. And i dont think it would be as easy as you make out to quietly walk away at 16 for him. It would be hard enough for anyone, but the life he describes, being part of a brand, would be nearly impossible. is parents did not keep out of the public eye. At 16 he was recognisable. Where is a 16 year old like that meant to go? How does Brooklyn Beckham go about getting an apprenticeship, particulary against his parents wishes! It's entirely possible also he didnt know it was weird until he was away fromit. It makes sense that now he is away from it then he can speak out, but sadly I think he has swapped one guided cage for another and i feel sorry for him. Just because he is rich doesn't mean his life didnt suck.

Dearg · 20/01/2026 15:40

Mmm - Brooklyn may have very valid points, but the simple truth is that Brooklyn has limited obvious talent, and would not have met his nepo-baby wife , had it not been for his parents millions.
He would do better to shut up and make his own way in life

Many children have it worse.

GardenGaff · 20/01/2026 15:40

I think the “inauthentic relationships” part was a warning shot to his parents - leave me and my wife alone, pack it in now or I’ll spill the lot!

Very much so and it is no leap to believe it.
James O'Brien was talking about this on LBC this morning, he said 30 years ago he was writing a silly gossip column in the Express and published a silly story about her wedding the day after it. He said she phoned him up in high dudgeon to complain about it, the next day on her bloody honeymoon!

Seems all of a piece with her reported obsession with the brand and total control of the narrative. I don't think the happy marriage fakery has ever really fooled that many people.

Such a miserable way to live. Imagine going on fancy holidays with a husband with whom you have a relationship of mutual contempt and posing for lovey dovey photographs that are purely for public consumption..
