To think people are missing the main point that Brooklyn Beckham is trying to reveal ?

Firstly I know the goings on of this family are not important news and there are more important things to worry about in the world .
But I’m finding it surprising that people are fixating on things like the wedding dress and the dancing . There are a couple of points in his statements when he is clearly saying what I have always believed- that David and Victoria are not a couple as they like to portray . I’ve always thought David’s disdain of her is quite obvious in the way he talks to her and that she appears lost and soulless but intent on preserving the brand .
BB says “ 'The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
Then - “ media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.'”

To me it seems obvious what he is hinting at ?

I feel like VB will survive this though. I thought she was over at first but people love her and will side with her over a stunning, young, American, billionaire. Same with David - he has way to much good press behind him for people to side with the nepo baby over him.

GloriaMonday · 20/01/2026 17:38

@Secondtonaan , because this is about a young man who grew up in the glare of publicity because of who his parents are.

One thing we can hope is that BB is going to make damn certain if he and his wife have children they will be protecting their privacy from the day they are born until adulthood. Let's hope ....

He hasn't done anything of note for himself despite all his advantages other than marry someone whose family are billionaires and you can bet he signed a pre-nuptial. His in-laws are not very different to his parents - wait until he falls out with them. He needs to grow up

Certainly I think she wrote a book about it. I don't think he ever sued her so there's that.

Tana is even more of a doormat than Victoria. I think her father also had a whole second family, so I guess she is used to men cheating.

No but they're BETTER THAN EVERYBODY 😂

And ultimately it doesn't really matter, it will blow over for the general public within days. People who like them will continue to and I suspect Brooklyn knows that, he's not trying to do a hatchet job I don't think he's just trying to clearly draw his line in the sand.

His in-laws are extremely tough, I wouldn't want to go up against them if I was David and Victoria. They are far wealthier than the Beckhams and Nelson is known as an extremely tough customer, a sort of Philip Green on steroids.

Urgggh what a repugnant thought

You cant beat a bit of salacious celebrity gossip 🤣

I do wish that people knew the difference between disinterested and uninterested and would use the words cirrectly.

Exactly. David's a pussycat compared to the FIL - a ruthless business mogul who eats people like the Beckhams as an amuse-guele.

@Arthur2shedsJackson , cirrectly?

There is a woman on the Daily Mail comments who comments constantly on stories about GR. She claims to be his discarded mistress Sarah Symonds and never seems to have a good word to say about him. Of course, she could just be a liar but I don't think so, she is too persistent.

I have read her comments. I do think it is her.

I think the “inauthentic relationships” part was a warning shot to his parents - leave me and my wife alone, pack it in now or I’ll spill the lot!

I agree! It’s all about preserving the ‘brand’

Does anyone ‘like’ them? What’s likeable about a nouveau riche footballer and a ex pop band singer? Genuinely?

Itcantbetrue · 20/01/2026 17:51

I think the Beckham's move in circles to this similar to themselves.
I think intellectually nelson is in a different league and far tougher and more shrewd

The Beckham's probably found it hard because it was their first child and the first one to get married

Firdbeeder · 20/01/2026 17:52

Well, if that’s what he’s getting at then good luck to him trying to keep the press out of his business as he goes through life

I was born in the early 90's and they're just posh and becks to a generation. A spice girl and a no.1 footballer. My sister quite a bit younger than me doesn't really care.
Anyone remember when David broke his foot and it was front page news and yuri geller made everyone touch the telly at once to pray for it? Good times.

I dont ducking care.

The title of the thread is enough f a hint for you to avoid reading it.

GRCP · 20/01/2026 18:00

@Lollylavenderthe Netflix docs made them very popular - they painted them in a very down to Earth, good humoured light. Also DB queuing to see the queen, there’s loads of stuff.

GRCP · 20/01/2026 18:01

@TellyOrNapOMG yes!!!

Mags1001 · 20/01/2026 18:03

I Haven't followed it but bb fell out with his mother because they don't like his bride.
Didn't Harry fall out with his family because they didn't like his bride too.
Give them 10 years and it will blow over.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 20/01/2026 18:05

I don't have any opinions on the bekhams, have never read about them or watched documentaries etc. I'm not sure if what he is saying is true. But if it is true, I think people are being really harsh when they say

  • (sarcastic) "poor BB with his millions". Like being rich somehow negates having shitty parents who fucked you up. There is a lot of support on here for the stately homes thread, Disney dad threads etc that suggest that throwing money and status related things at kids doesn't make up for lack of emotional care. He is perfectly entitled to be upset at his upbringing even if it was privileged on paper, if what he is saying is true
  • he should have left / dospwned them at 16 if he was that bothered. What 16 year old especially in that environment is going to have the ability to recognise how damaging their upbringing was and leave home, change their name, get a job etc
  • he could have just stayed silent and faded into the background. There are stories every single day in the press about how horrible he is to have cut off his family, ignored his dad's birthday etc etc. Everything he I don't think anyone would like everything they do responded to with a 'call your mother / you only get one family' comment.

There are a lot of posts basically seeming to accept that its true but somehow also blaming him for it. Which doesn't seem very fair.

I think Brooklyn has escaped from the frying pan into a VERY big fire. I’m no fan of his but I hope it works out for him.
