Firstly I know the goings on of this family are not important news and there are more important things to worry about in the world .
But I’m finding it surprising that people are fixating on things like the wedding dress and the dancing . There are a couple of points in his statements when he is clearly saying what I have always believed- that David and Victoria are not a couple as they like to portray . I’ve always thought David’s disdain of her is quite obvious in the way he talks to her and that she appears lost and soulless but intent on preserving the brand .
BB says “ 'The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
Then - “ media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.'”

To me it seems obvious what he is hinting at ?

Same! Are people actually naive enough to think that a celebrity’s public persona isn’t carefully curated, especially when that persona is their brand and their income?!

I genuinely don't think that a lot of people think that, but maybe it's just that I don't know anyone that does.
To me, that's obvious without his statement, the interesting parts are the wedding dance and the dress.

Just thinking that the Beckhams are small scale UK celebs . Many people say in the States wouldn't know David as football a peripheral sport.

They absolutely could have kept their kids out of the media . Many more famous people have done so and their kids have chosen their own path . For instance Bruce Springsteen son is a firefighter, daughter and equestrian.

What's scary is that they have more kids coming along . How do they think it's OK to parade Romeo or Cruz age gap girlfriends? Still in teens with 29 year olds . Do they approve or are they afraid they will push them away like Brooklyn. Once wives come along, Victoria will be just another MIL . And wonder how she will like being a granny?

I think that this isn't The Great Gatsby and we're not 14-year-olds in English class trying to dissect it.
Who knows what's really going on.
By the time we're old enough to be parents, and therefore old enough to be on Mumsnet, we should have realised that there are way more than two sides to every story.

Not many famous people have kept their children in the limelight as much as the Beckhams. Being instantly recognisable makes a lot of 'ordinary' options difficult at best and unsafe at worst.

Of course BB is always going to be his child but he's an adult and not under Dave's control to be allowed to make mistakes .

I think you could tell this in her documentary, a few of the scenes between them she was embarrassing herself and playing up to the cameras the end scene where she was behaving coy when he was complimenting her really made her look an idiot

That may well be the case. I think that he’d be well advised to carve out some sort of career and independence for himself though as presumably he’s entirely dependent on his in-laws to support his future family.

The see-through dress caught William's eye first.

Pictures of Home stands out, as does When A Blind Man cries (nobody can touch the feeling in that guitar solo) Lazy (nicked note for note from Clapton`s The Stumble though, maybe EC also nicked it I don"t know?) too many to mention really, the amount of talent that went through that band with all the member changes is incredible.
Lord and George Harrison were neighbours in London and good mates from what I have read, there is YouTube footage of George onstage with them in Australia doing "Lucille", he is the most sober person there.
PM had a band in the early 2000"s with Ian Paice on drums, easy to find on YT and although IP said that even with his reputation you still audition for PM and you are out very quickly if you are not cutting it the joke at the time was that finally PM gets to know what playing with a true legend is all about!

This is a pretty odd claim… They’re still husband and wife. They may not be as loving as they portray themselves, which their kids could call inauthentic. Do you know any authentically lovey-dovey middle-aged couples? How are they different from other middle-aged couples staying together for the kids or for the house, except they’re staying together for their joint business.

What do you think is going on with them then? They both have lovers on the side or…?

@gowlett Yes, I hope he’s successful in the US. Being dependent on your spouse’s family is an uncomfortable position to be in because you know that if the relationship ever fails, you’re out in the cold.

Plus as it’s not his wife’s money, he wouldn’t have any claim on it, it’ll be all wrapped up in trusts. So he really does need to make his own way.
