My doctor was late to my appointment because he had been at the local country hotel full of asylum seekers...

When was the last time you had a home visit? Is this a way of managing the " problem" by them taking clinics there? Is it a way of hiding this issue? I understood they did not have access to the NHS yet I see massive bags of medicine labelled for this hotel too at the dispensary. We wait about 6-7 weeks for a routine appointment.

If its any consolation OP, no AS around here that I'm aware of and I can't get a GP appointment for love nor money, so its probably not an asylum issue.

As some of you said - how to solve the problem. The latest update.

So should they have a private gp or be treated by the NHS? Which situation would be palatable to you? You do accept that they’ll need some form of medical screening? Imagine if they had TB and didn’t know, and went round spreading it about.

For being secretly bussed in , that headline is very precise on the time it happened.

All GP clinics within the NHS operate as businesses. If they choose to take a contract to look after asylum seekers as part of their revenue generation, it is a business decision by that clinic and is not taking money or appointments from the NHS. You are falling for the right wing rhetoric again that you are losing out. This is not a private GP and if it was, you should be happy about it, as then it really wouldn't be taking anything from anyone operating within the NHS space.

And conversely I’m very close to an immigration detention centre and I got a same day appointment twice in the last two weeks.

An honest question. My phone is showing only the headline.

Local newspapers and national. It's all out there - Crowborough.

They are not supposed to be out and about. Those are the terms although a couple have already done a runner in the night towards Uckfield. This whole situation is monitored locally by locals.

I assume you have seen the protests at hotels housing asylum seekers, protection is necessary.

And a on-site GP keeps the asylum seekers away from the local clinic.

This Crowborough, the site that started accepting people from yesterday and has an on-site GP service? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-accommodation-at-military-sites-factsheets/crowborough-training-camp-east-sussex-factsheet

Okay, so they should be left unscreened and potentially start a contained TB pandemic on the camp like at Auschwitz? I can imagine the number of laughing emoticons that would garner in the online groups you’re no doubt a member of.

How about like other countries - they are not admitted to start with?

You know what - being shouted at is a minor thing. How about pensioners being on waiting lists for months ? How about pensioners struggling to look after themselves with no or minimal social and medical help or care? How about our soldiers living in cold tin huts in some of these countries trying to keep the peace? The money that is being spent on these individuals is wasteful. Why can't these people follow correct procedure? They won't because they have heard about some of these suckers in this country.

Which countries? I posted the figures showing how many MORE refugees other countries admit. Did you not read it?

Why do you think other countries don’t admit them? Is it because Tommy Robinson said so?
