finally see the light about Farage? As the article says, if he will do this for £98 without thinking or a few seconds of research, what else is he capable of? The man is, IMHO, amoral, greedy and surprisingly stupid.

Tw: this mentions the hideous crimes of Watkins.

Nigel Farage ‘tricked into paying tribute to Ian Watkins’

It cost £98 for The Reform UK leader to film the clip on his Cameo account

I am not a reform supporter, can’t stand Farage but I’ll still vote for them if they are the only conservative option with a chance of getting Labour out. And no, to answer your question, articles like this will not change my mind. I already know he’s an idiot, a chancer and most probably a racist, but I would still be willing to take a chance on the party as a whole rather than have another 4 years of Labour as I still believe that, at this point in time, a Reform government would be more beneficial/less detrimental than Labour to both my family personally and the UK as a whole. We need tax reform, benefits reform and immigration reform, the current system is unsustainable and Labour is making it worse by the day.

Does what's happening in America change your mind? Because what terrifies me is that no-one really believed Trump would do this and he has. Not even just the ICE stuff but the states seriously discussing the death penalty for abortion, people with close links the the leadership proposing one vote per household (the man).

Farage has explicitly said he doesn't agree with the current abortion limit, he's exploring said he wants an American model of health care where hundreds of thousands of people go bankrupt for medical bills each year, he's explicitly said he thinks Putin is admirable.

Normally I feel like you can survive the next 5 years of parliament and hope for better next time but I'm not sure the American people are going to get a next time.

Which party has no scandals over money and fundraising?

Sir Keir declared accepting donations from Lord Alli in the register of MPs' interests, including accommodation worth more than £20,000.
The prime minister also stayed at his pendthouse during lockdaown though he said this was to support his son during his GCSE exams.
Lord Alli has also made donations worth more than £32,000 for clothing and spectacles to Sir Keir and his wife.

Morgan McSweeney Labour Together Donations (2020-2025): Think tank Labour Together received large donations (around £740,000) that were not declared before Keir Starmer's leadership win, leading to an Electoral Commission fine in 2021, with recent leaks reigniting questions about potential misleading of the commission.

"Contracts for Donors" Allegations (2025): An Autonomy Institute report suggested companies donating to Labour won substantial government contracts, drawing parallels to issues under previous administrations.

The Liberal Democrats
The party line on trans issues “has been consistent for at least 5 years” i.e very opposed to women's rights. The party has also accepted donations of £1.4mn from Ferring Pharmaceuticals (makers of puberty blockers) since 2013.
- are they being paid to promote/simplify gender transition to the financial benefit of big pharma?

Nope I didn't say that, you were suggesting that anyone whose parents had been in the war couldn't possibly vote reform - or saying you couldn't understand how they could. I am giving you an example to show that it's not as black and white as that. It's not an "all" I am in no way saying my parents represent everyone.

Nothing was real then you know what I mean

Farage and Zack Polanski are both equally awful. I don't agree with Starmer's politics(not sure he even does) but I don't dislike him quite as much as them. I like Badenoch.

No they aren't

13 u turns, and saying we "shouldnt say"only women can have a cervix: yeah, I distrust him

What are those u turns please? When I’ve seen lists they’ve been policy tweaks before implementation. That’s the way politics is supposed to work.

I said she isn't English.
She isn't English

This is based on the government ethnicity definitions in use for over 40 years and agreed with ethnic groups other than the English Scots Irish and Welsh in the country. These definitions were introduced for the benefit of immigrant groups.

https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/style-guide/ethnic-groups/

Do you think she ticked the white English box?

Do the white English exist as an ethnic group in your opinion? Do you consider these government definitions are a wind up?

At no point have I ever said she isn't British. Anyone from anywhere in the world, even people like the Egyptian criminal that hates white people and had never been to Britain in his 40 odd years of life until 26th December 2026 can be British.

Ypu said they couldn’t find anyone English. Which suggests you don’t think anyone of any other ‘ethnicity’ (the ethnicity definition you are quoting doesn’t quite say what you think) or even someone Welsh, Scottish or from NI should be British PM. That’s quite racist.

What he said isn’t the issue as he was tricked into saying it . It’s not a genuine tribute

the cameo side gig is a bit surprising and mega tacky how long ago was it ?

no IF I was a reform voter I’d not be the slightest bit bothered about this I think it’s a non issue bit embarrassing at worst

The point 7s he lied - said he knew the man when he did it - and didn’t bother checking whether the name was a bit suspect. And all for £98. It casts huge doubt on his intelligence and honesty. Also makes him look like a grifter - if he’ll lie for £98 why if Russia bribe him by more? Like they did his mate Gill?

We all know it wasn't a genuine tribute to the paedophile Watkins, fgs.

The point is his lack of due diligence for a measly £98 and his lies. If he can be bought that cheaply, we all need to be very worried at the prospect of him becoming PM.

No they aren't

Fair enough. It depends who you are. Farage might be marginally better if you are white and like flags. Polanski might be marginally better if you are male and don't have to rely on the UK economy going well.

The "Cameo gig" is not something he did in the past, it is something that he is currently doing.

You may not like him. I don't. But his communications abilities dwarf those of the two "main" parties - altho' in Labour's case that is not a very high bar.

Anyone can seem like a good communicator when they simply tell every group what they want to hear and makes all kinds of unrealistic promises.

He is the political equivalent of a con man.

Apologies, that was a severe response but I don't think they are equivalents. I am personally starting to think Polanski says some things that I agree with but i think that with the Labour party, Lib Dems.

I think they are both charlatans. Polanski was in The Sun newspaper claiming he could make women's boobs expand through the power of his mind. He has since apologised but it is pretty low grade stuff. Most of us manage not to get stories like that published in The Sun. I can't respect him. And Farage is a nasty man. I can't respect him either.

I don’t know that it has changed my mind yet but yes, it does give me pause, much more so than Farage’s ridiculous antics. I would not have voted for Trump if I were American unless the Democrat candidate was far more left wing than Kamala was and I certainly don’t agree with most of his policies but I also think the more extreme like death penalty for abortion will never happen (could be wrong) and also that similar policies wouldn’t have popular support in the UK eg I don’t think people here have a strong view on other peoples abortions the way they do in parts of the US. I guess we see how the rest of Trumps term plays out. I feel Farage is also a very different character to Trump despite the apparent similarities and the demographics, mentalities and viewpoints of the majority in the UK are different to the US. Just my opinion but I’m nether British by birth nor American but have spent many years living and working in both countries. It’s also fine to want real, fast immigration reform without supporting ICE style raids and shootings and to want serious reform of the NHS without a full blow US style healthcare system. I do take on board the earlier comments up thread re comparisons to the rise of Nazism though and there is a risk the rhetoric takes hold and becomes normalised but both the left and the right are guilty of fanning those flames on different issues. I’m not Jewish but the rise of antisemitism in the UK is something I am very uncomfortable about and see as very much encouraged by Labour and parts of the mainstream media.

Exactly. By this definition, Boris Johnson was the best communicator ever, with the added bonus of being a comedian.

And Blair was certainly not fit for high office: he very much used his position for his own ends. And he was a brilliant “communicator”, which I think made him doubly dangerous.

Could you list these u turns if you are going to use them to justify Farage’s lies (saying he knew the man) and stupidity (not checking the name) for a £98 payout? Because when I’ve seen them listed I wouldn’t class many of them as U turns, more tweaks to policy before it’s enacted.
Does Farage being so stupid and such a liar on such a matter give you any pause for thought at all?

Tweeks!! You should be his press secretary. You could just look up yourself a quick Google search came up with several articles.

  1. The grooming gangs inquiry in June 2025
  2. Winter fuel payment cuts in June 2025
  3. Welfare cuts in June 2025
  4. Two-child benefit cap in November 2025
  5. Inheritance tax on farmers in December 2025
  6. Business rates for pubs in January 2026
  7. Digital ID in January 2026
And these are the pre-election promises that Starmer has broken too:
  1. Debt definition in October 2024
  2. Waspi Women in December 2024
  3. Transgender rights in April 2025
  4. Effective income tax hike in November 2025
  5. Employment Rights Bill concessions in December 2025

I am relieved at least on his u turn on digital ID. Perhaps he realised that would be the nail in the coffin. Stopping elections because they know they aren't going to win and arresting people for tweets is way worse but people have FDS. I dont particularly like Farrage, Zia is much better. The world is laughing at us. Andy Burnham would be a much better and sensible choice it you want any chance of not getting battered at the next election. People is glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Father with 3 kids walking along the pavement, walking away from the camera. They are on a residential street in the UK

What is the two-child benefit cap and when will it be lifted?

Since 2017, some benefits have been limited when parents have a third child or more, so how does it work?

No elections have been stopped. They’ve been postponed for a year to save taxpayers’ money.

I was looking forward to watching Farage on Laura Kunsberg this morning, but what a surprise, he bottled it. Would have liked to heard more of his views on Trump's latest actions but he got Tice to do his dirty work again.
