finally see the light about Farage? As the article says, if he will do this for £98 without thinking or a few seconds of research, what else is he capable of? The man is, IMHO, amoral, greedy and surprisingly stupid.

Tw: this mentions the hideous crimes of Watkins.

Nigel Farage ‘tricked into paying tribute to Ian Watkins’

It cost £98 for The Reform UK leader to film the clip on his Cameo account

And another. Always a winner to convince people you are right

What's the point in pussy footing around, it's true. If you think old Nigel is going to not f**k up like he did with Brexit, then someone needs to come along and prick your balloon of delusion!

Well that explains it then. Not.

I’m so sorry I think I’ve replied to the wrong post! 🤦‍♀️

I’m not even a reform supporter. But it’s the same story always from those who think they know better than everyone else.

I didn't even vote for the Labour party but who in their right mind would vote for the hard right, don't you have any grandparents/great grandparents that fought in the second world war.

How anyone can fall for this culture war stuff and can't see it for the distraction and hate filled bilge that it is, is beyond me!

Umm - check out the rapidly falling net migration figures and tightening of visas - I happen not to be a fan of Labour immigration policy, but it is working on stuff you appear to agree with.
See this video would make me stop and think whether good ole Nige would be able to plan and carry through the stopping of illegal migration. It makes him look hard of thinking and lacking in the detailed prep required - as well as doing owt for a quid.
Doesn’t really change my view as I already know he can either do little or change the face of the U.K. so radically even the majority of those voting him in will object.

Depends on your definition of working I suppose. I read an article the other day that the net migration figure is falling largely due to a huge amount of emigration (Brits + EU), mainly youngish highish earners going somewhere where they aren't taxed so heavily and can afford to make a life for themselves. They are replaced here by relatively low paid immigrants. Not a great outlook but admittedly, I couldn't be bothered to check any of the stats.

I’m not left wing at all. Up until the last election I voted conservative. BUT I still find you deeply offensive. I am British, I was born here but my ethnicity or ethic origin is mainly African, if I am reading your posts correctly you don’t think that makes me British?

I should be removed and not speak until I am?

It’s quite Brass Eye isn’t it. If anyone remembers the cake episode . Had to google - David Amess was the mp but I keep seeing Bernard manning when I think I of it.

Any ethnicity from anywhere in the world can be British. Many millions from 196 countries are. Is that deeply offensive?

I’m very confused. You said KB wasn’t English/British (she is). Anyway, I’m going to stop engaging with you because I think you’re just on a wind up.

Badbadbunny · 16/01/2026 13:14

No, but I don't think Starmer, Raynor, Reeves, Johnson, Sunak, Blair, Brown, Cameron, Corbyn, etc were fit for high office either. We've had a succession of incompetent/rogue/conmen senior ministers/leaders for 2-3 decades. When we get rid of one, they're just replaced with another equally useless/incompetent. We really need to "drain the swamp" in Westminster.

You can't 'drain the swamp' when Reform is basically the Tory party wirh a different manager.

Farage is very much part of the establishment and you would expect someone with his experience to pay attention to detail and make checks.

Mind you, he failed in that with his party's recruitment process.

sleepwouldbenice · 16/01/2026 14:52

TheFrendo · 16/01/2026 14:23

I will vote for the party that is most likely to deport illegal immigrants and massively reduce legal migration. That is Reform.

Genuinely want to understand why? I do think immigration needs addressing, but in a controlled and managed way to address impacts on sectors like care, universities etc. Not a hate filled vile way
But I dont think that doing so would magically fix all our country's problems, and would cause some issues as well. So there are much bigger issues to address. Why is this your only issue? At any cost?

Birthdaysocks · 16/01/2026 14:55

I said she isn't English.
She isn't English

This is based on the government ethnicity definitions in use for over 40 years and agreed with ethnic groups other than the English Scots Irish and Welsh in the country. These definitions were introduced for the benefit of immigrant groups.

https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/style-guide/ethnic-groups/

Do you think she ticked the white English box?

Do the white English exist as an ethnic group in your opinion? Do you consider these government definitions are a wind up?

At no point have I ever said she isn't British. Anyone from anywhere in the world, even people like the Egyptian criminal that hates white people and had never been to Britain in his 40 odd years of life until 26th December 2026 can be British.

List of ethnic groups

Read about the 18 ethnic groups recommended for use by government when they ask for someone’s ethnicity in England and Wales.

But that attitude doesn’t work/change people’s behaviour.

It’s the same as saying - how can anyone let themselves get so fat that they get diabetes and they are slowly killing themself.

if because of your economic circumstances /where you live , the majority of your interactions with people with brown skin is negative then that is what you will think of. My dad’s dad was in the war, my dad was still racist as is my mum. People don’t look at the big picture they are parochial. Calling them thick and uneducated will not change that.

So because your grandparents were racist as they couldn't stand diversity, everybody's grandparents in the same circumstances must have been racist, that doesn't even make any logical sense.

So…what ethnicity should she have selected to be considered British/English? She’ll have selected African possibly. That’s not saying she is a citizen of Africa, which isn’t a country. You can be African in ethnicity but British/English by citizenship- and that makes you as British as anyone else with that citizenship. You merely show your own racism more clearly.

cardibach · 16/01/2026 15:08

Birthdaysocks · 16/01/2026 13:44

This extreme reaction to any one mentioning ethnicity is exactly why reform will win.

You didn’t mention ethnicity. You said they couldn’t find anyone English (I presume you meant British, or do you also think Welsh/Scottish/NI politicians shouldn’t be PM?). That’s not an ethnicity.

cardibach · 16/01/2026 15:10

Vinvertebrate · 16/01/2026 13:45

Yes and I’m sure there absolutely no correlation between opting to postpone elections and being a Labour-run council at risk of losing their majority (to Reform or otherwise). 🙄

You lot don’t really help yourselves, do you?

It’s a postponement. A short one. And requested by the council, not the government. Councils of different political majorities have requested it, as it happens. It’ll save millions of pounds.

Bongo2 · 16/01/2026 15:12

JamesClyman · 16/01/2026 10:31

You may not like him. I don't. But his communications abilities dwarf those of the two "main" parties - altho' in Labour's case that is not a very high bar.

I can think of another famous leader who was very well known for his communications abilities, that certainly didn’t mean he was a good leader for Germany and look what happened when he was in charge!

cardibach · 16/01/2026 15:14

Birthdaysocks · 16/01/2026 13:46

So when Kemi talks about being Nigerian is she also disgusting?

Once more. Nigerian is not an ethnicity. She could have (I don’t know whether she does) dual nationality. Doesn’t make her less British.
Dies make me wonder whether ‘English’ in your original post was deliberate though rather than lazy thinking. It wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t want anyone from the other nations in charge either.

Surely the answer is for the council to explain why they think the value for money option is to postpone the election (which few ever bothered to vote in) but then add the cost of the election people are demanding, to the Council Tax bill....

Put your money where you mouth is.......

I wonder how many would then still want an additional election?

I worry that, much like in America, it will embolden people to start to display views and behaviours they’ve previously kept a lid on in public. I fear for people like me it will be a more hostile environment whereas I genuinely don’t feel I’ve ever really experienced genuine racism, well not overtly.

Someone else needs to get their shit together and government the country or Nigel will be prime minister

Can this economy cope with a second hit of Nigel's wisdom, 8% reduction in GDP and 12-18% fall in investment into he country since 2016, the voters were warned about the years of economic decline but still voted for him! Why would anyone contemplate round two of that shit show!

PandoraSocks · 16/01/2026 15:59

@Vinvertebrate Tory councils have also asked to postpone elections. Do you know the reasons why?
