To ask when Reform supporters will

finally see the light about Farage? As the article says, if he will do this for £98 without thinking or a few seconds of research, what else is he capable of? The man is, IMHO, amoral, greedy and surprisingly stupid.

Tw: this mentions the hideous crimes of Watkins.

Nigel Farage ‘tricked into paying tribute to Ian Watkins’

It cost £98 for The Reform UK leader to film the clip on his Cameo account

I’m not a fan of Badenoch but suggesting she’s not British is somewhat racist. Reported.

You may not like him. I don't. But his communications abilities dwarf those of the two "main" parties - altho' in Labour's case that is not a very high bar.

So did Hiltler's.

MsJinks · 16/01/2026 13:37

BlueJuniper94 · 16/01/2026 13:31

When a better right wing option presents itself, people don't exactly have a choice in this so called democracy

But the point is it may not ‘be better’ due to these actions showing the leader in a less than illustrious light, but more importantly as less than competent or thoughtful when just £98 is there for grabs.
There are plenty of other right wing parties anyway - UKIP are still around, Advance is new and I expect there are more.
And let’s not forget the Tories - yes, it’s generally accepted they made a mess, but what in Farage makes you think his party won’t? I think this very video shows the dangers of expecting competence myself or better than Tories - which is the question basically, would this put you off?

imnothavingagoodtime · 16/01/2026 13:37

cardibach · 16/01/2026 13:31

except Leave voters didn’t understand, did they? Remain were correct about the result of Brexit. Are we supposed to ignore it when people are wrong?

Your level of arrogance is astonishing. I’m not getting into this with you but you have no evidence to support this statement. I agree our exit has been appalling and the promised vision has not materialised, but is that misunderstanding or government incompetence? ( with a pandemic for good measure)!

It’s attitudes like yours that will see us having a reform government.

imnothavingagoodtime · 16/01/2026 13:39

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 16/01/2026 13:37

He did and terrifyingly he nearly managed to achieve his ambitions.

Your last sentence is utter nonsense. It suggests you are one of those supporting Reform as they are the ones pushing that particular nonsense.

Oh here we go…. 🙄

My DH is Muslim and brown, my son is mixed race and disabled. I’m more likely to be the Queen Mother posting from the afterlife than a Reform supporter.

But I still think suspending elections is always a fucking terrible idea. Particularly when you’re massively unpopular, being accused of authoritarianism and trying not to embolden the far right any further.

Which ethnicity do you think she chose in the 2021 census? Here is the list. These definitions are in use in every single public sector organisation in the country. Are they all racist?

Lucky nobody has suspended elections then. Some council elections in areas where there is imminent reorganisation have been postponed until after the reorganisation if the councils themselves requested it to save having two elections close together as they cost money and repeated elections tends to lead to reduction in (already poor) turnout.

BlueJuniper94 · 16/01/2026 13:41

cardibach · 16/01/2026 13:35

And Reform are…what? No experience. Their councils are shit shows. They are full of failed Tories and their leader is a lying grifter. Great.

These things are very true. Most Reform voters would probably vote for someone else if they looked more likely and able to deal with migration.

BIossomtoes · 16/01/2026 13:41

Ablondiebutagoody · 16/01/2026 13:16

I'm not really suggesting anything other than for the same reasons as Brexit, I think that Reform have a very good chance of winning the next GE. If they make a pact with the Tories, it'll be a done deal.

The Tories have just lost the only potential leader who would agree to such a pact. Badenoch would never entertain the idea.

ETA Nor would most traditional Tory voters.

Many, possibly most, people on that thread aren’t Starmer (or even Labour) supporters. It’s not bullying to give your opinion on an opinion board.

Yeah, right.

Probably puts them off as much as reading about the Green party leaders creepy lines of questioning when he asks women how their husbands perceive their bodies when he was a "hypnotherapist"

Yes and I’m sure there absolutely no correlation between opting to postpone elections and being a Labour-run council at risk of losing their majority (to Reform or otherwise). 🙄

You lot don’t really help yourselves, do you?

Not an extreme reaction at all. Badenoch is British. Ethnicity and nationality are different things.

It's just goading. The OP has advertised this thread on another thread for Keir Starmer supporters. They will bully any reform voters who post on this one.

I think you'll find that @PandoraSocks is critical of Keir Starmer on the thread that's about, and always was before Labour came to power in July 2024, the current Government, which is Labour.

crazykatwoman · 16/01/2026 13:46

I am not a reform supporter, can’t stand Farage but I’ll still vote for them if they are the only conservative option with a chance of getting Labour out. And no, to answer your question, articles like this will not change my mind. I already know he’s an idiot, a chancer and most probably a racist, but I would still be willing to take a chance on the party as a whole rather than have another 4 years of Labour as I still believe that, at this point in time, a Reform government would be more beneficial/less detrimental than Labour to both my family personally and the UK as a whole. We need tax reform, benefits reform and immigration reform, the current system is unsustainable and Labour is making it worse by the day.

Labour must be loving the recent shenanigans. With first pass the post system, so long as Tories and Reform are tearing each other to shreds and splitting the vote, they will probably secure just enough votes in just enough constituencies to win the next election. With the current Labour majority Starmer is not going to lose a vote of no confidence in the next few years. Too many Labour MPs would have to turn against him for that to happen.
