Absolute insanity really. I think it’s worked out, hard to say. I do wonder how much we really have in common?

Well....you got married in less than six months so clearly you're um, spontaneous!

RampantIvy · 14/01/2026 21:19

To have had a baby after being with DH for less than six months?

This timescale makes no sense. Do you mean to have got pregnant?

LordEmsworth · 14/01/2026 21:19

Wow. Most pregnancies last longer than that...

feathermucker · 14/01/2026 21:19

Confused!

ToKittyornottoKitty · 14/01/2026 21:20

Maybe you should try and explain your dates…

Bluebluesummer · 14/01/2026 21:21

My friend has been with her husband for 25 years they got pregnant 4 months in. No one is going to be advertising it but it definitely works sometimes. DH and I were pregnant after 14 months together, we’ve been together 22 years.

ScrambledEggs12 · 14/01/2026 21:22

Guessing pregnant on first night of meeting, married at 3 months and then baby born 3 months early at 6 months?

GRCP · 14/01/2026 21:22

Those numbers don’t make sense? You must have been pregnant first? When did you get married?

Fidgety31 · 14/01/2026 21:23

is he the dad ? How could you have had a baby with him if you’ve only been together six months !?

We got married later 😁

So we’d been together for maybe six months, probably less than that thinking about it, when I got pregnant. Things moved fast.

So, who's is it?

DameOfThrones · 14/01/2026 21:28

Are you still in touch with the baby's father?

Legomania · 14/01/2026 21:29

She's married to him!

Scarydinosaurs · 14/01/2026 21:30

So what is the timeline?

met, six months later pregnant, had the baby, then got married?

How long have you been together now?

DameOfThrones · 14/01/2026 21:30

Legomania · 14/01/2026 21:29

I still don't get it unless the baby is very premature?

I met DH in October / November and got pregnant in march. I’m not sure what there is to ‘get.’

As pp, she got married to him later. The title should read 'now-DH'
Assume they're now some years down the line and op is wondering whether they rushed into it

Fends · 14/01/2026 21:32

It’s not March yet. How the fuck did you meet him in October, already marry him and get pregnant in March?!

How long have you been together now?

It’s our fourth wedding anniversary this spring. Dd was 15 months. So I guess we’ve been together for around six and a half years. It’s early days in a lot of ways but I do feel I’ve been with him a lifetime! It could easily have gone very wrong though.

Yes, just thinking out loud really: I was half-watching a film and someone said something about rushing into marriage and children being a bad idea. Normally I’d agree to be fair but it does seem to have worked although was definitely a gamble.

It takes 9 months to grow a baby but you’ve only been together 6!

Ahh ok gotcha.

Probably because you asked: "Am I being unreasonable to have had a baby after being with DH for less than six months".

That's what made it confusing.

Like it was actually born after you were together for less than 6 months.

Logic would presumably suggest that she's not talking about this autumn just gone...

So you didn’t in fact have a baby after being with your DH for less than 6 months?
