What are the small towels for?

In a holiday let, you usually get a big towel and a small towel arranged artfully at the foot of the bed. What to do you consider the small towel for/what do you call it?

That's the thing @Towelhowl You indicated from your thread title that you didn't know what the small towels are for. You should have titled your thread 'what do you use the small towels for (that you get in hotels...')

I use them for my hair by the way...

I'm not I was just very excited to host this Christmas for the first time in my own house that's not rented and finally big enough to put someone up. It was family but I almost put chocolate on the towels etc. it was so hard to resist. Did put some posh soap out through in the bathroom. We back to the lidl own brand now but the posh soap was on offer in tesco and smelt amazing...

Wait… I use these to dry my face or hands. I’m now genuinely wondering whether this is odd behaviour by me. If you wash your face do you use one of these small towels to dry your face?
