To think my house looks empty and boring now that the decs are down and I have a sudden urge to buy a lot of house stuff?

Decs only came down today so it's my first time sitting in my living room with it back in it's default state.

It suddenly looks so bland and boring 😭 I know I'll get used to it again but it's making me want to go online and buy loads of crap for my living room.

Anyone else feel like this when the decs come down?

You say it isn’t spring yet, but I did spot these in the shop on Boxing Day 🤣

I went to the shops on the 31st and they were stacking the shelves with eggs and hot cross buns. I hate the swift move always on to the next thing.

I had to remove ours on the 30th as we were going away from 1st for a holiday and didn't fancy coming back to the job.

Felt very sterile and early - 😔

Took mine down yesterday as back to work today. Once back at work the festival feeling goes anyway! I know I’m lucky to have had a bit of time off though. I spent many years doing care work and working all through Christmas but back then I had little ones to keep the magic going for.

100%, yes. Taking ours down Sunday and dreading it! I really miss them, especially the twinkly tree lights in the evening 🥲

I took mine down yesterday.
The room is much lighter now and less cluttered and feeling less claustrophobic.

We had to take one of our trees down earlier than intended (Friday 2nd) as our plumbing assistant (family member) became unexpectedly available on Saturday to help DH relocate/remove some of the previous owner's very many water pipes. The room - now devoid of both tree and pipes - looks incredibly bare. To compensate, we've decided to leave our second tree up till candlemas which is a first for us 😁
