To ask what you’re doing for New Year (if anything)?

We’re having a quiet one, which is how we like it. We’ve ordered a Wingstop and will watch a favourite film.

We’ll also go out for a walk at midnight to watch the fireworks.

What about you?

I'm in bed with a vomiting bug.

Village pub this afternoon and then to a neighbour's for a curry.

I'll be asleep by midnight. Just the way I like it.

I'm in bed with a cold and I'm absolutely knackered so I'll be asleep by 9 at the latest

Eating chips and beans because we’ve run out of proper food (visiting family at the weekend so no point doing a proper shop now), watching Frankenstein, and going to bed by 10pm I reckon.

DH and I have spent the day in London which was nice. Now on our way home, for shower, into PJs and a glass of wine, some cheese and crackers and struggle to stay awake to see in the new year!

I'm going to eat an XL bar of Galaxy over something on iPlayer (possibly Call the Midwife Christmas special) or Amazon.

Then I'll drag myself out to go and check the animals on the farm where I work. After that, I hope that we are sufficiently far out into the countryside (AKA a* end of nowhere, according to some family members) to not hear fireworks from the nearest town, as I wish to go to bed early, ready to get up and milk the cows in the morning!

Long bike ride earlier, now on sofa with fire on and candles. Probably fall asleep by 10…

Bubble bath (I much prefer showers but I'm going all out for the pamper thing!), hair mask, face mask, manicure, pedicure, few glasses of crémant and an early night. Then tidying up the house tomorrow ahead of my best friend coming to see me on the 2nd for a couple of nights - can't wait!

Lying on a three-seater sofa all to myself with a hot water bottle and a wheat bag on my sore knee (post-surgery), eating lasagne with garlic bread and buttered green veg, drinking hot chocolate with chocolate liqueur, watching old Poirot and Marple while watching DH do the jigsaw he got for Christmas. Dad dozing off into his Guinness, adult dc out with friends. Utter bliss. I loathe NYE as a rule, but I’m enjoying this one.

I came down with norovirus or something on Christmas eve two years ago so you have my sympathies.

I am working 7am-3pm tomorrow so going to bed as soon as the bells have chimed. At least I can work from home in Pjs though.

DS1 gone to party in London. DS2 just been invited to party with mates. So I may watch both Call the Midwife episodes. The peace is very welcome. Normally we have a large family thing, but the kids are all getting older and traditions are evolving.

Going to put the fire on and tidy up the mountain of toys that have been lying around my living room for a week. Might get a Chinese takeaway. DH is working this year so for the first time in a couple of decades i won’t be subjected to Jools Holland 🥳

Ooh there’s a Here We Go new year special on i’m going to watch that

Staying in with my Daughter and the grandchildren, I’m having a sleepover. Just ordered a Wagamama’s Firecracker Chicken looking forward to that. We are hoping the children will stay awake for the fireworks and have a lie in tomorrow.

We’re having a quiet one with the kids too. They are 12 8 and 4 so the older two may stay up for the bells, but the youngest may not make it. We’ve watched Jurassic world fallen kingdom, had a McDonald’s for dinner and just put greatest showman on. Everyone will have a bath or shower and then we will watch the rest of the movie and put out some snacks for our games night. Got a new Mario game for the switch and a few new board games to play. Bed after the fireworks. Hopefully a lie in tomorrow

Long dog walk earlier, came off the hill.in the dark. Was nice to see the light fade on the last day of the year.
Eating tea now then quick shower before going to the village pub with DH, DS17, DD16 & my parents to see in the New Year.
Never normally go out NYE so it'll be different?

Despite having a family, it’s going to be an awkward quiet one as husband is in a shit mood and taking it out on me. So there isn’t really a festive mood here apart from youngest child age 7 who is oblivious and has set up games and treats (crisps from the cupboard,cakes) in the living room for us to play with/ enjoy.
Will have a cuddle on the sofa with the children and go to sleep early.

In bed with a horrible cold. I’ve ordered pizza and I’m going to journal and reflect in front of the tv until 1am when I’ll watch Stranger Things before sleeping.

Going to some friends locally with DP and DD. Will be low key: bonfire in the back garden with drinks and kids will play Mariokart all night. At the moment I honestly would be happier to stay put and I am not a fan of making a song and dance at NYE but I will get into it when I get there.

Been out for the day shopping in the sales. Now staying in with the log burner on watching tv. NYE is for the young’uns.

Me and the dogs snuggled up on the sofa watching Here we go and then Ricky Gervais’s new one.
have got chocolates , crisps and my Christmas bottle of Bailey’s so am really happy with that :) happy new year everyone 🤩

I've been sick since Saturday.
Body / bones ache, coughing, sneezing, shivering etc.
Thought i would be ok by today as was going to look after my 2
G/G children but no better so just on settee taking paracetomal etc. Probarly go to bed early not sure.

I m travelling from Aberdeen to London on the train then onto Hertfordshire where I live.

Looking forward to cuddles with my cats and snacks and wine on the sofa.

Been away for Xmas with family but was coming back to see new year in with my son.
He's still in Finland though as had to change his flight after the storm.

Dd s working 6 am (police) tomorrow so shall see it in with my cats.
