We’re having a quiet one, which is how we like it. We’ve ordered a Wingstop and will watch a favourite film.

We’ll also go out for a walk at midnight to watch the fireworks.

What about you?

We have played some board games and had an Indian takeaway. Now watching a film and waiting for the new year. 8 year old is dtrying to stay up late with us

Out in the local pub, wishing I was home! I have a cold, my contact lenses are irritating my eyes and heels are killing my feet! I am so not in the mood for being social tonight!

Afraid we had a sudden bereavement at Xmas so we are spending New Year's making arrangements. Feeling sorry for teenage children who are not getting much fun this NYE.

Happy New Year all when it comes.

Dh working away overseas, I’ve got a couple of younger teens at home and a nervous dog!

I’m already on the decaf tea but I did have a few drinks earlier. Happy New Year MN🥳

Been to a concert with DP, them the pub and a McDonald's. No food in as been away. Now watching a film with the fire on and the Xmas tree lights. Very thankful it's the end of a very difficult year. Happy New Year everyone.

Purplecatshopaholic · 31/12/2025 22:54

We’re already in bed. I’m really hoping there aren’t bloody fireworks at midnight as one of my dogs is terrified of them.

FairViewRosie25 · 31/12/2025 22:58

Watching Pretty Woman, drinking wine, feeling fine will be asleep before midnight

CrazyGoatLady · 31/12/2025 23:08

At home watching Netflix until midnight, the. shortly after will be going to pick up DS16 from his first ever New Year's Eve party at his sports club. DH has the seasonal lurgy and has already fallen asleep! DS19 is staying over with a friend and they will probably be gaming until 3am and sleep in. I'll sort the animals out in the morning, walk the dogs and go pick him up after lunch I expect. I don't begrudge either of them the mum taxi service, DS19 has been working so hard in the run up to Christmas (retail) and the January sales will be busy too. DS16 does competitive sport and has a strict training schedule most of the time, so I'm glad for him to go have some fun with his mates tonight. As long as nobody throws up or embarasses themselves too much!

Slàinte and Happy Hogmanay to all!

We are the four of us, cat and chickens at home.

DD who is back from university did have invites to 2 parties but decided to stay with us. I said to her she should go but she said she didn't feel like it and Mum I am at university so its not like the only party invites I will get all year, there's parties all the time.

We have had prawn, crab and lobster pots, duck spring rolls, mini cheeseburgers, and bake at home cinnamon buns from the bakers and a red velvet cake with champagne. Watching TV, fireworks, back to back Blankety Blank and University Challenge for me. Happy 2026 everyone.
