to consider going on holiday with this couple?

Name changed for this, for what will be obvious reasons.

To cut a long story short, I have been having an affair with a close male friend for the last two years now. TBH, my relationship with DH has been tedious for years now, he's not a particularly warm man and the honest truth is that I don't feel any great guilt over seeing somebody else.

The man I'm seeing has a newish girlfriend and she's really keen for us all to go on holiday. I know it sounds like a bit of a nigtmare, but it's at a very exclusive private members resort and we'd never be able to get in there without her.

AIBU to even consider going on this trip?

If this is a wind up, it needs to get a bit more outraged, or it'll never make it to MN classics.

lucyellensmum · 11/06/2008 20:42

right, so, just a pair of cunts then and two innocent parties. nice

lulumama · 11/06/2008 20:43

can't be arsed , habbibu.. i have 3 epsisodes of big brother to catch up on

RubySlippers · 11/06/2008 20:43

oooh, of course you should go

it is really claaaaaaaaaaaaaaarsy to go on holiday with your husband and boyfriend

imagine, all the dead of the night bed swapping - will be jolly good fun

and all those holiday snap discussions

Closetothewind · 11/06/2008 20:43

There is no need for this thread to get heated, or outrage.

I just want genuine opinion's, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's marriage hasn't been entirely monogamous.

lulumama · 11/06/2008 20:45

so then why the need for a namechange?

anyway, am orf.. have a super time, don;t forget the lube

Twelvelegs · 11/06/2008 20:45

Don't go, why would you spend time with a man that you want to be shagging and the woman (younger I assume) that he will be shagging? You seem to want to make yourself look desperate and pathetic....

Habbibu · 11/06/2008 20:45

Lulu, for a second I thought you were outing yourself as Closeto! No, I meant she was meant to get all stroppy at being called a troll and call us all judgemental witches. As it is, she's got some Xenia-zen going on (note - NOT equating Xenia with moral laxity - just unruffled posting style!)

Twelvelegs · 11/06/2008 20:46

I bet she knows about you.

DirtySexyMummy · 11/06/2008 20:48

Yes dear, I was being facetious.

Why exactly are you having an affair, and have no plans ever to tell your husband? Why?

lucyellensmum · 11/06/2008 20:48

is this where you were thinking of going closeto?

nkf · 11/06/2008 20:48

You have received genuine opinions. I personally wouldn't buy the Honda. It rates vey badly for fuel consumption in the latest Which guide. Happy to be of help.

DirtySexyMummy · 11/06/2008 20:50

I wouldn't buy it, just one more damn asset to split..

Twelvelegs · 11/06/2008 20:53

Not seen the DFS ad's DSM, they cut their sofas with a chain saw.

DirtySexyMummy · 11/06/2008 20:57

12legs

Hear that windy? Theres a plan. Get hubby told

lou031205 · 11/06/2008 21:01

Who needs a moral compass when there are signs everywhere saying "Don't do it".

whatdayisit · 11/06/2008 21:07

Oh! Oh! do tell - who is the "bit of fluff" who gets exclusive invites the rest of you can't?

Still chortling at Honda comparision

eenybeeny · 11/06/2008 21:23

You really shouldnt be on MN. Like you said your children can look after themselves now (thank god for that I doubt you did a good job at it!) so why dont you find a forum more suited to your current needs... I know there are sites dedicated to extramarital affairs they will not look down their noses at you the way people trying to maintain a healthy family will.

You are either a troll or a very very very silly woman who needs glory and attention. Go on, go on the holiday. I think it would be the best for all concerned. You will surely accidentally 'out' yourself and assests will be split accordingly.

(oh and dear, I think you are the silly bit of fluff!)

ThinWhiteDuchess · 11/06/2008 21:24

Pmsl at NKFs Honda Civic comments. Even my DH snorted when I told him and he is usually a little at MN.

Honda Civic? Pure class, ala the OP!!

Closetothewind · 11/06/2008 21:27

I don't believe you stop being a mother when your children grow up. Besides, there are women on here who don't even have children.

I will stay here thank you, family life takes many shapes and sizes. It wouldn't surprise me if some of your husbands were having extra-marital affairs, that is just life.

eenybeeny · 11/06/2008 21:30

I am sure you are very correct about men and women having affairs here. But come on - your thread has to be one of the most shallow I have seen. You could not have painted yourself in a worse light. And those who know me know that I am truly no saint.

BouncingTurtle · 11/06/2008 21:30

Hope you do get caught.
You are clearly a very selfish person.
Feel very sorry for your kids who will be very hurt and disappointed in you.

MadamePlatypus · 11/06/2008 21:32

Does anybody else remember that 80's sitcom Duty Free?
