Labour Voters. Honest question

I’m not looking to start an argument on this subject. I know it’s a very heated and emotive topic.

I have strong views on political issues. What with algorithms and biased news organisations, it’s very easy to end up only seeing information that confirms what we already believe. Because of that, you don’t often hear the other side of the political divide.

I’m honestly curious whether those who voted Labour at the last General Election, for reference I did not, would vote the same way if there were an early GE in January, purely hypothetical of course.

If so, I’d really appreciate you sharing what you feel they’ve done right so far in their term. I’m asking as I genuinely want to understand different perspectives.

Sunak is very decent. How did his family rise this country per say? Can't think of a single thing.

I voted Labour, to get the Tories out. It was an absolute shambles after the Brexit vote until the last GE. At least we have a period of relative stability. I think Labour messed up over the National Insurance in the first budget and lots of job cuts have been made as a result. I'd still vote for them again, but then if it came to it I'd vote for almost anyone in my area who would be most likely to keep Reform out.

It’s a good example for the level of debate set by the left as discussed. Labour can’t claim a high ground or complain when they get similar in return.

Why did Sunak call an early election if the country was in safe hands with him?

I can't vote for Reform because I'm not a racist.

I can't vote Green because I think abandoning all nuclear power and NATO is pure lunacy.

I can't vote Conservative because...well just look at how the country fared after 14 years of Tory rule (broadly gestures at everything).

I could potentially vote Lib Dem, but in recent years they seemed to have become a party of NIMBYism which is the last thing the country needs right now.

So, that leaves me with Labour. I voted for them last time as it was a two horse race between them and the Tories in my area.

I feel incredibly frustrated that I don't have a party that inspires me to vote for them, and I'm left voting for the party I dislike the least.

I honestly think Labour will be completely obliterated at the next election. They have completely lost their way.

And curious how the rich that hang around Labour don’t get accused by them of exploitation or other wrongdoing. It’s another example of the bogus saintliness that the left cloaks itself in.

I dislike Starmer politically but I assumes he has a happy but private family life with his wife and children.

Sorry but the abuse directed at Sunak's wife, even now, eclipses anything directed at Lady Starmer. Much of it started from Starmer himself when Sunak was PM.

Are you excusing it?

I recognise that you may dislike Sunak because he was wealthy and had married into a wealthy family. However his wife as an Indian national was legally entitled to apply for non dom tax treatment for the income she received from her father's Indian based company.

I equally think that Starmer is a good decent person but he is out of his depth as PM and to be fair to him acknowledges this. Of the two Sunak is by far the smarter one.

Liz Truss on the other hand was massively out of her depth and not fit to run a Government Department let alone the country. What made it worse was that she actually thought and still thinks she has the capability when she was by far the worst PM in living history.

Johnson was actually smarter than the appearance he gave. However he wanted to become PM more than he wanted to actually do the job and quickly became either disinterested or didn't want to put in the considerable effort required to do the job.

I am sure he does, but that doesn't stop the vicious rubbish that is spread on SM. Dislike the man and his politics, fair enough, but some of what is said is just atrocious.
