I’ve She’s got truffle brie, Boursin, manchego, extra mature crunchy cheddar… and oatcakes, cream crackers and cheddars.

Totally acceptable to open a new bottle of red to stay hydrated, yes?

I think your friend needs more cheese

harriethoyle · 26/12/2025 14:26

Well, I think she’s positively restrained @rubyslippers personally. Maybe best to add a mince pie or two on the side. With extra thick brandy cream 🤤

Sounds reasonable to me and i only like Wensleydale.

hoarahloux · 26/12/2025 14:27

Not nearly enough there. She at least needs a nice blue and a goat's cheese. Get more crackers too while we're at it.

Squirrelchops1 · 26/12/2025 14:27

Your friend seems to be missing the celery, apple, grapes, chutneys etc

harriethoyle · 26/12/2025 14:28

DH banned me from buying him Wensleydale @lazyarse123 the big weirdo!

My cracker box overfloweth @hoarahloux… I don’t like the fancy ones 🤣

Does wine count as grapes? Good shout on the chutney, onion and ale coming up…

Not nearly enough cheese. Where’s the blue cheeses and the lovely local cheeses, the goat, sheep’s cheese, other varieties of soft cheeses? 4 cheeses doesn’t make a proper cheese board.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 26/12/2025 14:39

The limit does not exist.

This. The concept of "too much cheese" is completely false. No such thing.

Booksandwine80 · 26/12/2025 14:40

There is no limit. Many people are deficient in cheese without knowing so keep yourself nourished 🤪

EuroTour · 26/12/2025 14:44

Any cheese is too much. Cheese is disgusting 🤮

PumpkinSly · 26/12/2025 14:44

You are most definitely being unreasonable because where are the pickles, olives, and the rest of the cheese?

Wompet · 26/12/2025 14:45

YABU because you don’t have any Stilton and Boursin isn’t real cheese.

dairydebris · 26/12/2025 14:53

Your friend needs Stilton and various chilli jams. Perhaps you could help her out?

tbf it was confined to a plate not a board. Maybe there are delusions of grandeur here 🤣

Well I'm vegan and you're friend sounds like a star 🤩

LordBummenbachsMagnificentBalls · 26/12/2025 15:04

No fruity Wendsleydale, or red leicester? You she needs more cheese. Some mozzarella with sun-dried tomatoes as well

Lazygardener · 26/12/2025 15:09

I ate some unfamiliar fancy cheese three days ago and have been paying the digestive price ever since. I’ve lost 3 lbs in weight (good) and have had to make numerous festive meals for family and guests (not so good). So to answer your question…. How much cheese?, well, it depends !!!

123456abcdef · 26/12/2025 15:14

Definitely not enough, she needs a Stilton and a Wensleydale as well at the very least

oooh wondering if I can swing a cheese board picky tea 2 days running with not a cheese board liking husband

IfNot · 26/12/2025 15:26

I have a question about Camembert- I bought some, and it didn’t smell in the shop fridge but when I put it in my fridge it stank it out. So I’ve wrapped it in foil and moved it to a plastic bag in the pantry. The whole pantry now reeks of dead bodies? How does one have Camembert in the house? And if you bake it does your whole house smell of dead bodies??

Gliblet · 26/12/2025 15:35

MIL arrived for Christmas with:

Mature cheddar
Baron Bigod
Oxford Blue
Port Wine Derby
Jarlsberg
Binham Blue

Plus oatcakes, wheat crackers, rosemary crackers, walnut and honey crackers, and chive and sea salt crackers.

We had some for lunch and will have the same this evening along with pork pie, bread and butter, and smoked trout. There is no 'too much', only a lack of ambition 😁

And @IfNot things like camembert keep maturing after you buy them, the sooner you bake it the sooner you'll exorcise the cheese demons from your kitchen.
