To think that antisemitism now needs to be tackled in the strongest possible way?

The Bondi thread in chat was eye opening.

Forty pages and a lot of it whataboutery, excuses and vile antisemitism.

It’s disgusting.

It needs to be called out. It needs to be rooted out.

I feel so sorry for the Jewish communities everywhere. How can they possibly feel safe?

Well said, @Beachtastic

Because the jew haters always appear and attempt to derail with their obvious jew hating comments disguised as gazan concern, why don't ALL posters literally ignore their posts on any jewish related post? If noone responded/ignored they might just fuck off and if they don't?...who really gives a fuck. Seriously, ignore the cunts 😀 i do, always. Have no interest in anything they say even if i may agree with some of it. Their whole vibe would never change any of my views, the views would have to come from a more calm nuanced perspective

Best one I've just seen is an Antifa fascist proudly announcing their allegiance.

I do know that any response which results in the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent children cannot be considered ‘sensible’ though.
What do you think?

I think the way Hamas operates has deliberately ensured maximum damage to civilians, as part of their strategic goal of establishing global vilification of Israel.

Of course it would be much better to have no innocent Gazan deaths. But again: how would we respond in similar circumstances (which are, let's face it, utterly incomprehensible to us... at least so far, in our current comfortably established position)?

This was not a war fought above ground, against an army in uniform, against an enemy that made every effort to protect its civilians - quite the reverse. It's a miracle that no more than ~3% of the Gazan population was killed.

Hamas must be chuffed when they see just how many of the useful Western idiots are swallowing their propaganda hook, line and sinker.

It is absolutely rife in academia and any left leaning institutions. It needs sorting. None of these shitty excuses that’s rolled out by the Palestinian flag waving mob. - never seen them marching about other wars where babies are dying. They’re either antisemitic or so stupid they don’t realise they’re useful idiots to evil theocracies.

I have just seen something on another thread which honestly made me feel sick.

A picture of Anne Frank wearing a keffiyeh.

There are no words.

Make no mistake; if you attend those marches you are helping to facilitate this. Don’t kid yourselves.

Indeed. They can achieve their objectives much more easily this way than by military means. And it's working.

What a time to be alive.

Absolutely. One of the most toxic groups going who mask up and threaten women. Just why would you want to be anywhere near that vermin! They aren't interested in equality and justice, they just want violence.

Did you report it?

EdithStourton · 20/12/2025 19:12

Every time, we're reminded how terrible Israel is for causing civilian casualties during urban warfare. I'm not minimising civilian casualties. I know, from my own family's experiences, that the consequences knock on down the generations.

But still....

Never are we reminded that Hamas has spent 20 years preparing that urban area for warfare.
Never are we reminded that Hamas constructed miles of terror tunnels, but was somehow unable to build any air-raid shelters for civilians.
Never are we reminded that the civilians were unable to flee, because Egypt has closed the border.

Nope, as ever, EVERYTHING is Israel's fault.

But the people who cannot pull back and see that there is any sort of bigger picture are not antisemites, and never see or hear antisemitism on pro-Palestinian marches...
Despite the first marches being planned when the biggest pogrom since the Holocaust was still underway.
Despite the first marches being planned before Israel had mounted any response, other than one within the borders of the Israeli state, where civilians were being brutally murdered.
Despite the chants for 'globalise the intifada' and the banners which, in effect, call for the destruction of the world's only Jewish state.

Make it make sense.

Perfectlystill · 20/12/2025 19:14

I agree. There's one reason why antisemitism is on the rise in this country and we all know what it is but we're not allowed to call it out

LucyWestenra · 20/12/2025 19:40

You know what gets me?

During and after the Holocaust Germany was vilified, and rightly so. What happened was so truly awful that there really are no words to do it justice. I say that as a German.

But now the whole world seems to rejoice in condemning the Jewish community.

Greenpeanutsnail · 20/12/2025 19:45

I think the antisemitism was always there, it’s just that people now feel more emboldened to be openly anti-Semitic. Unfortunately I’ve had experiences before where people have said things…you just don’t always know what’s going on behind the veneer.

Nothing more to add because its pointless. Even on here clear trolls haven't had their posts/accounts deleted. In fact, one of my posts responding to a baiter was removed and the original post remained.

I've experienced the same.

This is an echo chamber.
Listen to yourselves!

It’s not a ‘miracle’ that Israel has (only!) bombed to death 3% of the population of Gaza.

I’m out, can’t listen to this any more.
It’s not anti-semitic to be appalled at the deaths of innocent children, whatever their ethnicity.
You can think what you like.

I think there are many similarities. Gazans are not all innocent and all civilians there will also have to go through something similar to the de- Natzifictation ithat occured in Germany post WW2. That education facilities funded by UNWRA were even allowed to exist teaching hate should be another investigation. Because they contributed to this Islamist ideology.

It may be a Western-style democracy, but it is surrounded by oil-rich and powerful Middle Eastern countries that want Israel off the map and Jews eradicated, and have never made any secret of these ambitions.

Being "shocked at Israel's behaviour" is not really fair considering Western countries don't face this kind of existential threat.

Any Western country’s behaviour would be viewed similarly
Imagine if hordes of French, with the full backing of other European countries, had swarmed into a UK festival and surrouding villages to torture, rape, mutilate, burn alive, scalp, and take hostages. What would a sensible response be?

I'm afraid I'm coming to the conclusion that the only reason people don't see this threat the way they would elsewhere is the obvious one.

I don't think there's any response to October 7, other than lie down and die, that some people would find acceptable.

TheaBrandt1 · 20/12/2025 20:03

Agree with all your posts OP. Useful idiots indeed. The left are being played like a fiddle. The women and LBQT types passionately supporting Hamas make me 🙄🙄
