Not fat shaming I’m very overweight myself and not been a healthy weight for a long time so can’t even imagine what I would look like at a healthy weight

I do and yes, I don’t think under weifhr or over weight is the best look.

SlayBelle · 12/12/2025 17:02

I dunno. I'm a healthy weight and look like a corpse today. I have a massive zit on the side of my nose and my hair is misbehaving so it looks like i've been electrocuted.

Size 10 though.

Catza · 12/12/2025 17:03

Always? No.
I am a healthy weight and some days I look positively shite.

TomatoSandwiches · 12/12/2025 17:04

People who are in the right proportions look good, very often that includes being a healthy weight.

Thehop · 12/12/2025 17:04

I don't know. probably.

I had a sleeve in June and I've lost 90lbs. I look like a melted candle under my clothes and it's aged me quite a bit I think: but feel and am soooo much better.

She’s not asking if healthy weight people always look good.shes asking if it looks better than under or over weight.

FollowSpot · 12/12/2025 17:06

In general, yes, usually.

Which isn’t to say people of different weights can’t look great.

GloriaMonday · 12/12/2025 17:06

Generally, yes. Looking morbidly obese isn't good.

Bambamhoohoo · 12/12/2025 17:07

I don’t think weight is always important to the way you look

most people look… well pretty unmemorable, I’m really not sure it makes that much difference.

It makes an enormous difference to our appearance.

Mostly. Although I think some people suit being heavier. Adele, imo, looked better, bigger. Her smaller frame is, of course, healthier for her, but to me, she looked more attractive when she was bigger.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/12/2025 17:08

I looked awful at my ‘healthy weight’ I was far too thin.

Oh I think she looks way better now. She looked fat and puffy faced before.

minipie · 12/12/2025 17:09

Yes generally - although fat does plump out wrinkles to some extent, so a slightly overweight older person might look younger than they would if thinner. Not necessarily “better” overall though.

I can’t remember the exact quote but it’s something like “after a certain age you have to choose your arse or your face”.

ImFckingMattDamon · 12/12/2025 17:09

I do. I do not carry weight well at all, even a small extra amount drastically changes the shape of my face and I look all bloated and jowely!

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 12/12/2025 17:10

Toddlerteaplease · 12/12/2025 17:08

But a healthy weight goes from 18.5 bmi to 24.9? Are you saying you looked fat too thin at a 25 bmi>

Bambamhoohoo · 12/12/2025 17:10

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 12/12/2025 17:07

In your opinion. I don’t think most people look significantly better say, 2/3 stone less or more.

of course if you’re talking about people who are underweight- yes they will look bad, mainly because our instinct is to recoil from people who look starving.

morbidity obese - of course someone won’t look their best physically

but most people are in the middle and not particularly noticeable.

ChristmasinBrighton · 12/12/2025 17:10

I have a healthy BMI of 20 and look so much better in every way than when I was obese (over five stone heavier)

That’s not really possible. You probably just weren’t used to it. Change is hard, but it’s unlikely you looked awful just from being a healthy weight.

I mean this politely. Are you overweight and maybe feeling defensive?

Nice! I love how it’s so quick. I was bypassed in 2023, lost almost 160lbs and I’m similar re melted candle under clothes but by god, I feel amazing! It’s definitely aged me, my saggy neck is not great, but everyone raves about the weight loss and I’m no longer scared I’ll end up in a mobility scooter.

sprigatito · 12/12/2025 17:13

I’ve lost 5 stone. My face looks like an old leather handbag, the weight loss has really aged me - but I’m comfortable in my clothes, I can wear things that make me happy and have fun with clothes again (for my own sensory pleasure, I couldn’t give a witch’s tit about the male gaze). I am fitter and stronger and have more energy and more confidence. Whether others would say I look better or worse…I don’t know, and I don’t care.

Wildywondrous · 12/12/2025 17:13

I think they do, I definitely look much better since losing almost 6 stone on Mounjaro.
Part of it is probably confidence because I no longer feel invisible but I think i look better than I did even on days when I have no makeup on and my hair tied back.
My skin and hair are in better condition, clothes fit better and I even move better because I'm no longer in pain with my joints.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/12/2025 17:14

Yes, was kidding myself for DECADES.

i keep running for buses just because I CAN 😂

DancingLions · 12/12/2025 17:14

I'm in my 50s and I definitely have to choose between face and body! Currently I'm a good bit overweight but my face looks healthy. If/when I lose this weight I'll look haggard! I know this as I was slim most of my life and was always told I looked tired and drawn. I also have a long face so a bit of weight rounds it out a bit. I wouldnt have any type of cosmetic procedures due to cost and just not wanting to.

For that reason I'm just leaving my body to whatever weight it hits naturally. I'm enjoying having boob's at last 😂I was very flat chested when slim.

So for me personally, there's pros and cons to both. Which is why I'm not really stressing over it.
