Shitty note from new Neighbours after moving in

We moved house on Friday - have had a hectic few days trying to sort things and have this week off work thankfully.

There is one bathroom in the house and this is upstairs at the front of the house which faces our driveway. Next to the driveway is a neighbours house directly opposite.

The seller has taken all blinds out of the property as is their right and we’ve spent today putting some new ones up, including in the bathroom.

Yesterday, a note got put through our door:

”Get blinds for your bathroom, we don’t want to see you having a shit”

The window is frosted but I assume at night with the light on you can see in.

This was obviously from our neighbours opposite. AIBU to say they went about this in a rude way? They could have sent a politer note or knocked on the door.

I remember moving i to a new house the bathroom window was HUGE and came to about waist level when you were sitting down (the toilet was literally by the window) i let the dogs out for a wee late night glanced up and told my parents we needed a blind the glass was inadequate at best when we replaced the frosted glass we spent time with the lights on standing in the garden debating if we needed the blind still or not as a child I remember it was a VERY BIG DEAL

We are not even overlooked 😂

I didn't get curtains for a while after I moved into our first house.

Neighbour sort of opposite never spoke to us the entire time we lived in the close because of this omission.

Op on a different note your seller was out of order too. The old blinds are an exact size match for their new place? 🤨🤔

Hope that's the end of the nastiness. I'd completely ignore them from now on.

We had an anonymous note from a neighbour in the summer. It’s an unpleasant thing to do. We’ve worked out who it is and I’m damned if I’m doing anything to help her ever again.

I think I’ll find myself unable to choose the colour and type of my new blinds for ages. Years even. And I’ll google giant middle finger stickers to put on my bathroom windows.

How incredibly rude. Why is everyone so nasty these days?
If they really could see you- I doubt it- a polite note " Maybe you could consider blinds?" would have worked. Or they could wait until you sorted yourself out.

Well, that put a dampener on your new home didn’t it? Did’nt you realise that you’d move next door to Mr & Mrs Perfect who NEVER use a toilet and dispose of bodily fluids and waste by urinating and opening their bowels in perfect little silk pouches?
Just ignore the note, carry on with the unpacking and if they mention it in the future simply claim you didn’t have time to read anything not delivered by the postman and could they enlarge. They lead pretty sad lives if they’ve nowt else better to do than observe other folks toilet habits ffs!

What horrible people. That would actually really freak me out: not because I think they could actually see me on the toilet (I bet they can’t), but because they are clearly unhinged and spiteful arseholes.

As PPs have said ignore them. But keep a note of this. It’s highly aggressive.

As a one off it possibly could be put down to a bad day bur if they start doing this more often you might want to think about flagging this as harassment.
