Shitty note from new Neighbours after moving in

Laylamum2 · 25/11/2025 18:19

We moved house on Friday - have had a hectic few days trying to sort things and have this week off work thankfully.

There is one bathroom in the house and this is upstairs at the front of the house which faces our driveway. Next to the driveway is a neighbours house directly opposite.

The seller has taken all blinds out of the property as is their right and we’ve spent today putting some new ones up, including in the bathroom.

Yesterday, a note got put through our door:

”Get blinds for your bathroom, we don’t want to see you having a shit”

The window is frosted but I assume at night with the light on you can see in.

This was obviously from our neighbours opposite. AIBU to say they went about this in a rude way? They could have sent a politer note or knocked on the door.

I’m petty and passive aggressive so there would be no blind going up in my bathroom if I were you

Weelittleone36 · 26/11/2025 14:33

I would have taken extra.long time to put bathroom blinds up lol 😆 I live opposite a few back yards and none have blinds can only see shadows and blurs no idea if theyre at loo or in shower lol your neighbours being ridiculous lol

Howdidlifegetsobusy · 26/11/2025 14:37

place a large poo emoji image in the window!

MouldyOldBaps · 26/11/2025 14:38

You could take the blind down after you are sure that they saw it go up and use the bathroom at all times with the lights on, perhaps with the addition of flashing lights! Then pop a note through the door telling them you”ll report them for voyeurism if they contact you about it. Something else that is absolutely infuriating (I’ve done it. Tee hee!) is to get a ln insanely bright security light, face it at their windows and time it so it comes on all night long. (Too expensive to do long term) Then deny all knowledge, claiming those are not the settings and reassure them you are concerned about burglars who are such a threat to you and them and there must be so many about to set it off.

Or, as you have to live next to these cockwombles, do nothing. (I once had some vile neighbours, but I only irritated them once in a blue moon so they couldn’t work out if o was doing it on purpose. 😂)

YouknowIknowbest · 26/11/2025 14:39

Get a custom made blind so that every time you shut it, it reads C*NT into their window…that’ll teach em 😂😂

BeWittyRobin · 26/11/2025 14:51

Personally I’d take the blind down and just every now and again sit in the toilet (not for a wee or anything) just sit there with the light on when you know they are home 😂 but then I can be petty xx

Kubricklayer · 26/11/2025 14:52

Send an anonymous note back.

"Get a paper bag for your head. I'm sick of seeing your ugly c**t of a face"

Fairgamer · 26/11/2025 14:57

CheekyRaven · 26/11/2025 14:22

Tell them not to look!! How very rude

But what if they can't help? Have OCD or a weird kink 🤣🤣

Epidote · 26/11/2025 15:13

Lol, a sticker of a hand showing the middle finger on the bathroom window would me my preferred option but as I'm not very confrontational but I hate passive aggressive crap I may collect plenty of blinds leaflets and put them on their letter box as a hint.

sami2885 · 26/11/2025 15:33

I'd be asking your smart speaker to play fart noises at full volume with the window open..... But I'm childish like that 😂

Seriously, ignore them, they sound unpleasant

Bananaandmangosmoothie · 26/11/2025 15:47

Write them a note on the back of their note:

Thanks for the welcome to the neighbourhood.

The sellers took the blinds with them and we have already ordered some new ones.

You had a chance to be neighbourly and you chose to blow it. Such a sad choice. You must be a very unhappy person.

IaltagDhubh · 25/11/2025 18:26

Cut out big letters and stick them on the window so that when you turn the light on in the bathroom it reads from outside “STOP WATCHING US SHIT YOU WIERDOS”. Would give you a little privacy until you are able to get around to fitting blinds too.

Good idea … just make sure you spell weirdos correctly to avoid looking like a twat.

TrustyRusty68 · 26/11/2025 15:57

They sound awful!! Don’t respond - & leave your blinds up as often as possible when you know they’re home. Rude asshats!!

CitizenofMoronia · 26/11/2025 15:58

return to sender, Stop looking in our bathroom... pervert...

ALJT · 26/11/2025 16:04

I think I’d spend my evenings rubbing my backside against the window for a few weeks

ny20005 · 26/11/2025 16:07

We went to an Airbnb a few years ago & downstairs loo had frosted window but no blind. The neighbour knocked the door & asked us not to use the bathroom as the light was disturbing them in their garden. We bought a coloured disco ball & put it up for the rest of the week 😆

Tangerinenets · 26/11/2025 16:20

Get some blinds made with pictures of someone taking a shit on the outside and put those up in the bathroom 😂

DangerousAlchemy · 26/11/2025 16:22

Nearly50omg · 25/11/2025 19:27

I can tell you that frosted glass in a bathroom at night does NOTHING to stop you seeing the horrendous sight of the naked neighbour getting out of the shower and wiping his arse etc! 🤢🤮😂

oh no is this definitely true?? My loft bathroom has privacy glass (or so my builder assured me) so we never put a blind up and I often shower on the way to bed 👀😆🤭🤷‍♀️😫

SHAME 😮 I didn’t have my reading glasses on!

Gettingbysomehow · 26/11/2025 16:55

Wankers, I'd be pressing my backside up against the frosted glass. That would give them something to complain about.

Gettingbysomehow · 26/11/2025 16:56

My neighbour can see me shower through the glass so I have to shower with the light off.

LittleBitofBread · 26/11/2025 16:56

Hugely rude, and very coarse. They seem to be out to provoke. Ignore.

Theslummymummy · 26/11/2025 17:03

Pathetic. I had similar, apart from they had the balls to come round and say it. "You do realise my husband can still see you getting into the bath" just said "lucky him" and slammed the door in her face.

DevonMum123 · 26/11/2025 17:08

Oh dear, doesn't bode well for your future there. They are obviously massive a holes.

Easterchicken · 26/11/2025 17:16

Post back to them saying stop bloody looking then

They don't need to stare at your house
