To get a robot floor cleaner thing in the Black Friday deals?

My partner wants to get this and go halves on it, I’m open to it but don’t know if they’re any good or not - does anyone have a similar and can give me any feedback on it’s usefulness?

We do have a long haired cat and are always hoovering although we don’t mop anywhere near enough as we don’t have a mop 🙈

sorry for the boring thread!

Anything that helps with the chore of daily life is worth it. I have a robot hoover - earlier version and it's ok for surface dirt but I still have to hoover. Sister has a Eufy vacuum and mop and two cats - she's impressed - I'm looking at those as I need a little extra help in my own home and a robot who can mop is looking tempting!

OfDragonsDeep · 23/11/2025 17:57

I have one, but a different make. I love mine.

toomuchfaff · 23/11/2025 17:58

I have eufy, its just the vac, not mop, it goes round daily and I dont have too. 2 dogs previously would have tumbleweed of hair (huskie). But now we dont. It does help and it reduces the load

Andromed1 · 23/11/2025 17:58

Not a boing thread at all. We have cats and I feel your pain especially in the moulting season.

I have a robot vacuum cleaner and it's brilliant for going under chairs and beds, but not so quite so good in corners. I have to tidy away trailing cables before setting it off, or it eats them, and I rearrange the furniture a bit so that it has a big enough gap to get through, or it misses bits out. Doesn't do stairs of course. I find mine a big help for doing a fairly frequent medium quality clean, but DH does a better job with the hand held vacuum.

toastofthetown · 23/11/2025 18:08

We’ve just ordered that exact one! From my research it does hard floors better than carpet, so if your areas is more hard floor then it’s great. Following with interest though.

Tireddadplus · 23/11/2025 18:11

We have a simple one and its amazing! Comes out at night and hoovers all the sand/hair/crumbs etc. But you do have to clear away all cables/socks etc. and its quite noisy if you are in an apartment. Also doesnt like bumps in doorframes and throws itself down the stairs at any opportunity! I think expensive ones are probably better!

Onemorestepalongtheroad · 23/11/2025 18:11

I’m planning to get an Eufy that hoovers and mops. Have a dog and our new flooring is lovely but very light so shows up every bit of dirt. I’m secretly hoping DH is getting me one for my birthday but I doubt it!

PinkFootstool · 23/11/2025 18:13

I have a Eufy on each floor 😂 Highly recommend them. They have coped with two husky type dogs, a long haired cat and a very dusty house where we keep the windows / doors open all day.

Legthing · 23/11/2025 18:14

I've got two roombas that just hoover. They've been brilliant and are still going stong after 15 years. I definitely would not be without them.

I did think about buying a mopping robot, but I didn't because I reckon they would be a breeding ground for bacteria. I don't know if they are but I don't fancy finding out the hard way.

Kitchenbattle · 23/11/2025 18:15

We just ordered a eufy one and it cost us €15 as we had Amazon vouchers from work! 🙌🙌 I cannot wait!!

Ineedanewsofa · 23/11/2025 18:16

Check it’ll work with your wifi - we have 5ghz not 2.5 and I’ve yet to find one that will work on it 😭

CombatBarbie · 23/11/2025 18:17

I got a cheap £100 one.....its ace, I have all hard floors downstairs and a short haired dog who seems to shed 12 months of the year!

It does mop too but its only a surface mop, which is fine for during week then I do it with vax on my days off.

PeloMom · 23/11/2025 18:18

I got one couple of days ago and love it!!!go for it

Sahara123 · 23/11/2025 18:21

My cats were totally freaked out by the robot hoover I had! I found it pretty useless to be honest, I echo previous comments that you need to make sure every cable etc is cleared away. It didn’t seem to have a plan as such, it just randomly wandered about, and used to get stuck under the sofa!
I don’t remember the brand, probably too cheap !

IKnowAristotle · 23/11/2025 18:21

I've got that one. Didn't think to wait for black Friday so it was £399 when we bought it but it's great. No pets in the house but I'm a slattern so house has really improved.

How to you find this out (I mean what your own WiFi is)?

Can you not split your signal from your router? I've done it, so there's a little 2.4ghz network called "For Henry" with literally just the one robot 🤣

My newer Eufy works on 5ghz though.

winter8090 · 23/11/2025 18:23

Buy one! Mine is currently in whizzing round.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 23/11/2025 18:24

I just ordered a eufy vacuum mop, for £350. It says it washes it's own mop and dries it, I'm quite excited.

I mean I probably could split it but if you would be so kind as to send me the link to yours so I don’t have to that would be great 😊

My sole complaint is that it does one circuit of the whole space then goes back to bed.

I liked that the older models just kept going until they died. It just means I send it round twice a day instead.

Ok this is all pretty positive! I’m not sure we really have anywhere to store it without moving stuff but that’s not a huge issue.

thanks all 🙏🏼

We only have 2 carpeted rooms in the house so should get a lot of usage out of it

MaterMetella · 23/11/2025 19:42

Just ensure that you remember to switch it off if a pet has an upset tummy as it will spread it far and wide. It will be particularly awful if you also have underfloor heating. That morning tops our ‘worst mornings ever’ list.

shuddacuddadidnt · 23/11/2025 21:39

I have two long haired cats and the same vac and it's fine. A friend has the eufy one and is also pleased. Follow the youtube video on regular maintenance, as cat hair will get into the wheels and stop it from spinning.

My previous robovac was a non mopping Neato which was D shaped so could get into corners, but the company no longer makes vacs and has moved into robotics.

Tip - I add a little zoflora disinfectant to the water. It's non foaming.
