Who are people who find Christmas offensive

Blopi · 22/11/2025 06:43

It really boils my piss when organisations curtail Christmas stuff as it may offend people.

Who are these people who find Christmas offensive? In my life I have worked and met people from various religions, cultures and countries. NOT one found Christmas and things that go with it. I didn’t work with Jehovah Witnesses but they don’t get offended. Most said they decorated their homes, wore Xmas jumpers and ate food which was suitable or tailored to their religion. Those who didn’t decorate their homes love seeing trees lit up.

🙄 What bullshit is that? My opinion that it’s actually not Muslims who are offended, but the professionally offended lefties who like to patronise Muslims and others by speaking on their behalf. Ususally wide of the mark too. If you think it’s Muslims and others who are the ones saying they’re offended, then that’s up to you, but I don’t agree as has been said on here by others, I work with alongside other religious groups, and they aren’t offended by Xmas at all……..stop being patronising and trying to speak on their behalf…

So who are these lefties trying to ban Christmas? OP doesn't seem to have found any, can you name any of them?

I think the woke community is offended on behalf of others-thus we have Tesco selling Evergreen trees, Sainsbury's and Tony Chocoloni (sp) selling Countdown calendars and Greggs selling Festive Bakes.

These things used to have Christmas in their description.

There are many other examples and it won't take you long to look.

So, some big businesses clearly do think some will be offended by the word, Christmas: whether this is due to their own research or them simply being woke twats is not known but I suppose the answer to that is discoverable too.

Do define "the woke community".

GuyForksAndKnives · 22/11/2025 09:09

I've seen Tesco advertise what's clearly a Christmas cake but called it an iced top cake, and a Christmas tree has become an evergreen tree.

hmmnotreallysure · 22/11/2025 09:09

No one does. It's a load of crap made up by the racist far right to turn people against each other.

No you haven't.

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 22/11/2025 09:10

I work in corporate comms and have pushed back this year. We are talking about Christmas not "the festive season". I don't get offended by people talking about Diwali or Eid etc. and in the UK Christmas is a huge cultural as well as religious event.

nothing wrong with "Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating and an enjoyable festive season to all"

ilovesooty · 22/11/2025 09:10

professionally offended lefties 🤣

Happyjoe · 22/11/2025 09:11

I wish Christmas could be cancelled - until 1st Dec. If I were every in charge I'd ban it all until 1st Dec 😂

I get sick of the fact it lasts for 3 months or more. Where's the magic when you see Christmas tat sold before Halloween has even happened? It reminds me of when I was at school and they started selling back to school stuff just as I went on summer holidays. Talk about depressing!

sanityisamyth · 22/11/2025 09:12

I wish someone would bloody cancel it. I don’t find it offensive. Just very depressing and triggering my PTSD.

My husband’s workplace have had to change “Christmas party” to “Winter party” and Easter is now “chocolate day”, all because ONE PERSON found the original names offensive and complained. This is in the UK.

Mothership4two · 22/11/2025 09:13

Absolutely @SheepShankers and it was a marketing strategy to cover the Winter season of events including Christmas. In 1998 it ran from Halloween to the Chinese New Year (so mainly not the Christmas period). Winterval replacing Christmas due to potential offence is now a persistent myth that has been debunked by the Birmingham City Council and journalists.

And yet a quick google shows you tesco sells Xmas trees! Please stop the nonsense.

Edited to add - if the sell the iced top cake, do you think perhaps... they sell it all year round? Or it's a plain icing cake for you to decorate?

No one is trying to ban Christmas. I’ve not agreed with that. But I think some Councils/schools just remove the word Christmas from events around Christmas, to make other faiths feel included. It’s just not necessary is what I’m saying.

Leftie here. I can be offended by a lot of things but speaking on behalf of all the lefties I know not one of them gives a shit about this non-issue. I hate Christmas, don't celebrate it because I'm not a Christian, and think it's all a load of over commercialised crap. I will however be buying presents for the two little Muslim girls next door because they always send us a card and buy us some sweets and I like to think I'm a decent human.

5128gap · 22/11/2025 09:13

If you can talk me through the significance for Christians of traipsing round stalls of ten quid frankfurters and over priced wooden tat, and drinking pints in the street and how this links to the birth of Christ; then I'd be quite happy to campaign for the name to be changed back from Festive Market to Cristmas Market.

Nobody can ever name the organisations. Funny that.

Go on OP, please name one for us.

Reform led Kent Council. Christmas lights can't go up until flags removed. Parish councils can't afford to remove flags. No Christmas lights. The irony.

That was my fav story of the year when heard about it - I do hope it's true!

GoodQueenWenceslaus · 22/11/2025 09:15

It always makes me laugh when people who moan about the woke BBC get themselves into a horrendous twist trying to justify that when the Beeb do heinous things like broadcasting the Nine Lessons and Carols Service and the King's Christmas message.

As a Christian who doesn't really get offended by anything I do find a celebration of the resurrection of Christ being reduced to "chocolate day" a bit bloody rude
