It has been much cooler at night for months.

My cats are disgusted. The little one walked carefully round the edge of the garden this morning to avoid putting his feet in the snow on the lawn and gave me a hard stare halfway round to remind me of his feelings about it. I agree with him.

Mine won’t even look out the window
he spends his time in a burrito of a blanket until it’s a perfectly still 21c day and then he MIGHT contemplate going outside
but really why when his snacks and cat TV are inside Grin
I’ve never had such an inside cat before

Wow @RampantIvywho pissed on your chips?! This thread is about enjoying the cold snap - I am enjoying the cold snap! Hate summer and love winter and I make no apologies for enjoying the cosiness of my log burner after spending 12 hours outside in all weathers. I apologise if my enjoyment of the cold weather isn’t enough for you.

Not in my world it hasn't.

KimberleyClark · 21/11/2025 11:06

I’m enjoying it too. Love going out in a warm jumper and my quilted coat and feeling toasty warm.

Timeforabitofpeace · 21/11/2025 11:06

I hate it and it’s affecting my chest.

Gosh, you are cross.

Do you really not see the irony of loving cold weather but actually preferring to be warm? Isn't the house the same temperature as a warm sunny day?

Maybe I'm too logical for you.

OrlandointheWilderness · 21/11/2025 11:19

Actually @RampantIvyI'm not cross in the slightest! I’ve had a lovely morning, I’ve been running, walked for miles and done a decent amount of training. I’ve just got in for a cup of tea before plucking two brace of pheasants and more dog training.
I don’t believe anywhere in my posts I said I preferred being warm - I love the log burner being on because it makes the house look cosy and I personally find there is something almost primeval about the innate need in some to ‘hunker down’ for the cold weather - obviously not something everyone shares. The things I love about winter aren’t the base fact that the temperature is x degrees - that is over simplifying it. I love winter because I love the feeling of being freezing cold and coming in to warm up. I love cold frosty mornings for the feeling of them and the look of them. I don’t like summer because I’m bloody prone to sunburn and personally find the endless hot weather boring.
Winter is my favourite time of year, for a myriad of reasons that cannot be stripped down to ‘it is 8 degrees’.

elliesmummy19 · 21/11/2025 11:20

I love it too! My absolute favourite weather and time of year. My husband, however, is not on the same page 😂

Mikart · 21/11/2025 11:23

Yes its felt colder in London this week than oop north.
Lovely when the sun shines

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 21/11/2025 11:30

I miss summer.

Catinabeanbag · 21/11/2025 11:45

Nope. I hate it. Was vaguely looking forward to the hot flushes with perimenopause as I'm always cold.... nothing. I've just got colder and feel the cold more.
Roll on summer.

Roll on summer.

The menopause didn't reduce my heating bills either.
