I'm loving it 🤷‍♀️

Hate it, can't bear the thought of rough sleepers and animals being out in these temperatures

Biskieboo · 20/11/2025 18:10

Yeah I like it too. My 25-ish mile commute along snowy rural roads today was great; 4wd and winter tyres saw me through nicely. Tomorrow I will be out running on the snowy hills in blazing sunshine- love it love it love it!

How can you afford to run the heating all day!!!? I now pay twice as much to have mine on for half as long, an hour when I get up and a couple of hours in the evening, and it breaks me

This is what we do. We might boost it for 45 mins during the day and an hour or two in the evening but that’s it. We wouldn’t be able to afford it on all day.

IHateWasps · 20/11/2025 17:36

You’re being out out there with no supplies though. No snow gear allowed.

Can I bring my Huskie for entertainment value (and maybe to dig a snow hole for us to huddle in)

Before the massive price increases I was warm and snug and never worried about the cost, it preys on my mind now, currently getting my nerve up to go into my chilly kitchen to make tea. One of my Christmas day treats will be to allow myself a few extra hours of warmth.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 20/11/2025 18:23

All jokes aside, and as much as I love the cold, I don't love the idea of people freezing in their homes or being poorly ❤️💐

For me, I get poorly during the spring/summer 😅

Absolutely love it!
Hate the summer- I'm a sweaty menopausal, fair skinned redhead who suffers from hayfever. This weather is me!

DH is terribly underweight due to health issues and is really struggling with the cold weather. He loves walking, but it is just too cold for him now.

Bless him, that’s sad to hear…..the cold really has been biting of late…hope his health improves in the near future x

catontheironingboard · 20/11/2025 18:36

I have SAD and am currently ill with a virus, so I feel bloody awful in this cold 🙁

TheresGlitterAllOverMyHouse · 20/11/2025 18:37

@lifeonmars100 It costs £4.73 a day for our heating to be on from 06:30 to 22:00.

lolly427 · 20/11/2025 18:44

Miserable here. Electric storage heating that costs an arm and a leg and heats the house far too much at 5 am when you're already cosy in bed and is practically cold by lunch time.

MoominMai · 20/11/2025 18:56

GovernmentFundedSteak · 20/11/2025 17:19

I can't afford to put my heating on, so I'm just cold and miserable. My toes hurt when it's cold. I'm a weird size and shape so struggle to find a decent coat that fits. Hate having too many layers, it's just bulky and uncomfortable.

I hate it when is 30+ as well though.

Same. Have health issues and alone with no support, makes the winter quite a miserable and difficult time also. Layered up like the Michelin man right now lol. Also when it’s icy really difficult to stay upright with ailing balance and if it snows, it leaves my shoulder joints in pain trying to clear it off my car and from my long driveway. It wouldn’t be so bad if I was retired I guess but having to work FT through all this as well it’s definitely not my favourite time.

EchoedSilence · 20/11/2025 19:18

The dark makes me miserable. Give me summer and light any time.

UnhappyHobbit · 20/11/2025 19:30

I’m the wrong side of 35 to be squealing when I see snow but that was me yesterday morning! Love the cold.

You are forgiven entirely if you bring a dog.

coxesorangepippin · 20/11/2025 19:47

Please can we have some lovely snowy UK photos please

💕

I'm the wrong side of 60 to get excited by snow, but I still do (as long as I don't need to go out in the car).

Although, we had rather more than our fair share in January of this year and then it stayed for 10 days as it was so cold, then the novelty wore off.

ncduetooutingsituation · 20/11/2025 20:43

I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
But then I cold plunge at 3 degrees on an average day.

I do appreciate that cold weather is a problem for a lot of people though.

OrlandointheWilderness · 20/11/2025 21:02

Bloody love it. Log burner on all the time, baking constantly and just adore winter.

And I am not someone who sits inside and hides from it - we have Gundog’s and a hobby that requires being outside all day!

Barney16 · 20/11/2025 21:08

Nope. It's freezing and grey and miserable. I'm wearing multiple layers of clothes and seriously considering a SAD lamp. Frantically googling where is it really warm in November.

39p an hour to heat the whole house? who is your supplier?

So, you don't enjoy being cold then, which is what I thought this thread was about.

smallglassbottle · 20/11/2025 23:27

It's great, I can finally sleep again. Hate the warmer weather insomnia and waking up all sweaty.
