It's cold and I feel for my neighbour. She's 78 and in previous years (since post Covid) she's been in floods of tears at the astronomical energy bills which she cannot afford. I'm always out at work (I have two jobs (morning and evening) so I am rarely home to ask her over, but I do go and keep an eye on her.
I keep hearing and reading the term, 'energy poverty' and it breaks my heart that society is now a place where profit is put over basic humanity. I live in London, which has plenty of homeless people living on the street and this cold snap will take lives.
I hope all the Energy company executives enjoy their fat bonuses. We've already seen the same with Thames Water.
Inhumane.
