Just seen this on a news feed that Munchetty has been accused of bullying and is being investigated.
Doesn't surprise me at all..She often seems bullish and arrogant.Shes there to present the news not thrust her opinions forward.

OP posts:
Arlanymor · 14/11/2025 22:47

It's not the first time I think?

PeonyBulb · 14/11/2025 22:57

This is old news

She’s had that reputation for years

I’m surprised she’s still at the BBC tbh

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 14/11/2025 23:04

I stopped watching BBC breakfast bc of her.

She was ok on other programs where she didn't give her opinion.

Walkerzoo · 14/11/2025 23:09

I used to like her but she is so aggressive. Sally o nimday to Wednesday is just perfect. Who wants to watch aggressive first thing in morning

GeorgeEdwardsMum · 14/11/2025 23:10

Very old news...

XWKD · 14/11/2025 23:12

That's disappointing. I've only watched her a few times, mind you, but this has surprised me.

Keepingthingsinteresting · 14/11/2025 23:18

None p you would be saying this stuff if she was a man- such double standards. She is clearly straightforward and doesn’t suffer fools gladly, but it’s so frustrating how women are expected to pussy foot around.

JDM625 · 14/11/2025 23:21

I can only go on clips I've seen, but some of the outtake shows have shown her to be very rude- eye rolling and condescending to other staff members etc.

ChristmasHug · 14/11/2025 23:22

I think she's an excellent interviewer and I'd have thought a good role model for girls but I wasn't aware of any behind the scenes stuff.

As PP said I'd question whether the same behaviour from a man would get the same label, but I don't know the details so don't have an opinion.

Firefly1987 · 14/11/2025 23:24

I used to think she was very frosty (the ice-cream clip anyone?!) but have to admit she's grown on me and now I don't mind her. This is absolutely not a shock to me though.

3hairspastfreckle · 14/11/2025 23:24

Is she more aggressive than her male counterparts?

What??

Have you never met Mumsnet before? 😳

Men get slagged off all the time on here.

And having a vagina doesn't make anyone above criticism.

Endofyear · 14/11/2025 23:31

I quite like her, she's definitely quite sarcastic and sharp but in a world of gushing Holly Willoughbys and Tess Daleys, it's quite refreshing! I do think she can be a bit abrasive though and could rub people up the wrong way!

Cordeliasdemonbabies · 15/11/2025 09:17

Lots of men get accused of bullying. Tim Westwood, Gregg Wallace and Richard Frediani are all BBC ones from the recent past.

Wibble128 · 15/11/2025 09:20

I disliked osme of her interactions with Carol Kirkwood, studio presenter bossing someone on an OB about when that person cannot object. Quite horrible.

RatsAss · 15/11/2025 09:23

I find her unwatchable and unlistenable. She presents as rude and humourless to me.

Edited

Tim Westwood and Greg Wallace were accused of sexual misconduct/assault. That's quite different from bullying.

I think with her it will be difficult to unpick what is true, what is sexism and what is racism. Do we really know what went on or are people projecting?

AgnesX · 15/11/2025 09:30

I think she's quite abrasive and a marmite personality to begin with. I also quite like her except when she or Charlie start sticking the boot into whoever first thing in the morning.

I think though that if you didn't like what she said and stood up for yourself she'd back off. She doesn't appear to tolerate fools or waffle gladly. And probably not a lot of the Beeb luvvvie types either.

SleepQuest33 · 15/11/2025 09:30

I think she’s great! Not everyone has to be sweet! People are different.

FullLondonEye · 15/11/2025 09:32

I have worked with Naga. It’s true that she doesn’t suffer fools gladly but she isn’t nasty. She’s intelligent, funny and very straightforward. She will treat you as she would expect to be treated. To some people it comes across as harsh but in my experience you won’t get that treatment from her unless you’ve done something to provoke it.

Yes I’ve noticed that too. Carol comes across as a genuine warm person and does her job well.
Naga quite often acts superior and condescending towards her.

I’m so glad to hear this from someone who has actually worked with her.
I got that impression from watching her.
I also admire her for highlighting the poor level of treatment women get from health professionals, she is really on a mission to make healthcare for women better and is not afraid to put her head above the parapet on this issue

rwalker · 15/11/2025 10:16

I just think her manner is curt and rude sometimes
don’t watch her

You’re being deliberately obtuse. This behaviour would not be criticised in a man, as men are not expected to be sweet and gushing. I am not suggesting being a women puts her beyond criticism ( not using your such delightful phrasing), just that the behaviour for which she is being criticised would not be worthy of comment were she a man.

Lots of people would say exactly the same about Jeremy Paxman. He was rude to his guests just like Naga can be.

Most men and women aren't like that so the ones that are stand out.
