Just seen this on a news feed that Munchetty has been accused of bullying and is being investigated.
Doesn't surprise me at all..She often seems bullish and arrogant.Shes there to present the news not thrust her opinions forward.

I grew up with drop the dead donkey. I remain convinced the whole of media is toxic

You’re being deliberately obtuse. This behaviour would not be criticised in a man, as men are not expected to be sweet and gushing. I am not suggesting being a women puts her beyond criticism ( not using your such delightful phrasing), just that the behaviour for which she is being criticised would not be worthy of comment were she a man.

I would absolutely criticise that behaviour in a man and have done previously. On the radio Naga is frequently rude, belittling and bullying to other contributors and I find it impossible to listen to. I’ve used the BBC complaints’ process to express this. I have no idea how it’s tolerated.

Sally..👍

Edwinstarrihavefaithinyou · 15/11/2025 18:52

She's too much of a nippy sweetie first thing in the morning for my viewing.

hattie43 · 15/11/2025 18:58

Not surprised at all . She’s always given off an undercurrent of mean girl

I have worked with Naga. It’s true that she doesn’t suffer fools gladly but she isn’t nasty. She’s intelligent, funny and very straightforward. She will treat you as she would expect to be treated. To some people it comes across as harsh but in my experience you won’t get that treatment from her unless you’ve done something to provoke it.

Heard similar from others.

It sounds like it's a flakey issue with other staff being slightly sexist/racist.

medievalpenny · 15/11/2025 19:08

It's very common for senior people to be accused of bullying by someone more junior at some point in their career. It doesn't mean they're bullying, it can mean someone is dissatisfied, hasn't got what they wanted, doesn't like the other person, has been reasonably pulled up on something, or is trying to exert power in a hierarchical system where they have little of their own.

It's so common that some people describe a bullying accusation as a rite of passage for managers and leaders. You only have to look at the work board on MN to see people throwing around accusations of "bullying" over things that are not bullying.

Op hasn't even provided a source for this allegation, let alone details of how "bullying" is being defined here and yet people are comparing her to an alleged rapist!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/11/2025 19:15

Not surprised, she is incredibly rude to guests.

Hepzibar · 15/11/2025 19:23

I find her attempt at humour cringey, especially with the support’ - weather and sport reporters 🤮

jumpingthehighjump · 15/11/2025 19:43

She's professional and good at interviewing...

HOWEVER... I feel some of the people she links to are wary.

I was quite a fan until I saw her and Charlie Stayt on Saturday Kitchen Live. They were so awful. So rude about everything everyone cooked for them. It was embarrassingly awful

RedRiverShore5 · 15/11/2025 19:43

No surprise there

dottiehens · 15/11/2025 20:23

Yes, she is also unbearable. Can’t stand her.

This!
I had no strong opinion about her, until I watched Saturday Kitchen where she was so rude to the presenter and other guests.
It was uncomfortable to watch and left a poor impression.

I hardly ever watch Saturday Kitchen it just happened to be on. I really felt for the chap presenting.

He tried to hard to be upbeat! But they were pretending to be sick and mocking everything, it was awful

cityanalyst678 · 15/11/2025 20:38

Charlie often looks uncomfortable when she is expressing an opinion.

JaquelineHide · 15/11/2025 20:39

She's been 'under review' for a while, but now she's being formally investigated.

BoarBrush · 15/11/2025 20:45

I like her. She's very black and white.

The problem with that is she can come across (which to me she does ) as abrasive curt and rude

Buscobel · 15/11/2025 21:09

Yes, the Saturday Kitchen thing was awful. I find her abrasive and I would certainly criticise that behaviour in a man.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 15/11/2025 21:53

She interviewed DH about a decade ago and was awful to him. Totally unprovoked! I was shocked and haven’t liked her since.

Oh right. Because a person of colour can't be a cow. Which she clearly is.

Who was the last white male you called a cow?

Pushy white males don't get the same treatment. She may not be as nice as she should be, but she sure as hell isn't being treated equally with a large number of male TV presenters.

Women are definitely held to different standards.

UserM6 · 15/11/2025 22:56

I like her.
No idea if it was the Same Saturday Kitchen episode but I bought the black jumper she was wearing because I
loved it on her. No idea how she wore it in TV as it’s BOILING. It’s also got a cut out shoulder so useless for actual cold outside weather.

I have other names for them. But we're not talking about the men are we?
