Just seen this on a news feed that Munchetty has been accused of bullying and is being investigated.
Doesn't surprise me at all..She often seems bullish and arrogant.Shes there to present the news not thrust her opinions forward.

i’ve very recently met Naga and found her intelligent, well briefed, interested in what i had to say and very kind, supportive and complimentary. she has been amazing on 5 live for highlighting misogyny in healthcare and she doesn’t suffer fools. all great traits in my view.

CurlewKate · 16/11/2025 05:51

“Mean girl vibes” “aggressive””cow”……all on a quick skim read!

I think she’s great! Not everyone has to be sweet! People are different.

The bullying accusations aren't about how she appears on TV. They're about how she treats her colleagues. This has been rumoured for a very long time.

You do get that how someone appears when the cameras are on, doesn't necessarily represent what they're like as a person, right?

Is she more aggressive than her male counterparts?

I've never noticed that she was!

Peachykeenclean · 16/11/2025 06:30

Have had a lot of professional interactions with her but never actually worked with her—she is direct and straightforward, as a news journalist should be—I don't ever relish being interviewed by her, if I'm honest.

SatsumaDog · 16/11/2025 06:38

She’s certainly very direct and a few of her interactions have been uncomfortable to watch for sure. The accusations don’t surprise me.

Interesting then that people on here are judging her on her onscreen presence. Because obviously most of us don’t know anything more than that. Still the mean girl, agressive, she’s a cow comments!

RichPetuniaAgain · 16/11/2025 07:14

I like Naga and her interviewing style. She an intelligent interviewer who asks the questions that need to be asked and doesn’t let the other person off the hook until they’ve actually answered. I listen to her radio show a lot because of this. I get the impression from some other interviewers that they don’t even really listen and can pussy foot around, which is infuriating and frustrating. Naga’s direct, a great interviewer and I rate her highly.

BellaBlister · 16/11/2025 07:20

I think she's obviously very intelligent, direct, professional etc. But the chemistry between her and Charlie is so awful that I have to turn over. I'd rather watch cbbc.

Gini87 · 16/11/2025 07:24

Can’t stand her. This isn’t the first time.

LilySad91 · 16/11/2025 07:27

And so it begins.

The far right takeover of the BBC was always going to start with the sackings of women of colour

Jellybean85 · 16/11/2025 07:33

Keepingthingsinteresting · 14/11/2025 23:18

None p you would be saying this stuff if she was a man- such double standards. She is clearly straightforward and doesn’t suffer fools gladly, but it’s so frustrating how women are expected to pussy foot around.

Not sure this is fair. I work in a male dominated industry with strong women kicking ass and being straightforward and admire them and aspire to be one.

some times Naga has come across condescending and downright rude. I found her unpleasant to watch and like pp stopped watching breakfast. It’s ok to think someone’s rude even though they’re a woman. There’s lots of fab presenters who are female and strong personalities with cutting put downs

OvernightBloats · 16/11/2025 07:45

Think Charlie really annoys Naga and she struggles to hide this. I have seen this many times when she will make a quip or her body language gives herself away.

The chemistry between Naga and Charlie seems off to me.

I have felt sorry for Charlie on occasions because it does appear (to me) that it is bullying.

Are you just trying to make this about race? There have been rumours for a long time that she's not a particularly nice person.
Nothing to do with her colour or sex.

LilySad91 · 16/11/2025 07:50

Interesting timing thought isn't it

tara66 · 16/11/2025 08:00

I stopped watching BBC years ago because I went off their Breakfast Time program and then Hugh Edwards etc did not help although have now watched some of Strictly. But don't want to pay license but do so because of threats etc. Also don't want to pay Trump because of idiots there. Can it get worse??

Clawdy · 16/11/2025 08:10

She was on Strictly Come Dancing a few years ago! I've always rather liked her, sad to hear bullying claims.

What threats?

runningpram · 16/11/2025 08:31

That clip with the ice cream and the new reporter was awful. Why behave like that and how is it ok on air

😂😂😂😂

i wonder if using this has occurred to her.

hattie43 · 16/11/2025 08:50

lazyarse123 · 15/11/2025 22:30

Oh right. Because a person of colour can't be a cow. Which she clearly is.

Yeah it’s so predictable when people shout ‘ labels ‘ . As if POC can’t be sexist / racist . Besides it won’t be just one complaint to have escalated things this far , more a pattern of behaviour that a lot of people have complained about .

Are you serious? Do you dispute that the BBC has been biased. Bringing race into this isn't appropriate as you are trying to shut down a discussion.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 16/11/2025 09:12

Old news. Love her though

saraclara · 16/11/2025 12:18

That. It's ridiculous to assume that because she's a woman (and of a different skin colour?) that she's above criticism.

If I was being bullied at work, it would be infuriating if my concerns were ignored because the bully was a brown skinned woman. Equality is about being treated equitably, not being ignored when your behaviour is unacceptable in anyone else.

I have no way of knowing whether the accusations are correct, but if they are, then being female and brown doesn't excuse anything.
