To think hide and slide doors don’t make up for the fact Neff ovens are impossible to clean.

Didn't get pyro as don’t want the bills and high temperatures. Can see why many do though as Neff ovens are impossible to clean without. There is a whole list of what you can’t use to clean them and the stupid steam function doesn’t do anything. For the price surely they should be easier to clean!

My MIL has one and it’s filthy, it’s barely a few years old and my 15 year old one looks in way better condition.

I thought it might just be what she cooks in it, but it’s a mess.

Are they all like that?

Seem to be! She’s probably read the instructions which say pretty much don’t use anything other than water with a few drops of washing liquid or bicarbonate of soda. 🤣The coating on the inside apparantly won’t like anything else bar their products( which have shite reviews).

If the coating on the inside will put up with 275°C, I'd bet it can handle something a bit harsher than washing up liquid. It's almost as if they want to sell you something, isn't it?

Pyro all the way. My neff is spotless i love them, I have 3 of them and the microwave

24Dogcuddler · 09/11/2025 22:14

Just got a new slide and hide in my new kitchen. Had one for 3 years in our previous house.
With our other one we only tried the steam clean once. It was a lot of faffing. Used to end up with stuff running inside the oven door when cleaning it.
We used to get a professional oven cleaner in and it always looked like new afterwards.
Worth it for me as I’m short and it helps me to access the oven safely.

ScaryM0nster · 09/11/2025 22:16

The cleaning function works fine for us.

PenCreed · 09/11/2025 22:16

I pay someone to come and clean mine. Absolutely worth the money as it saves me the hassle!

user90276865197 · 09/11/2025 22:21

What’s the issue? The self clean option works well on ours. You can take the door off to clean, not done it myself but I’ve seen DH do it! We have 3 and a microwave, don’t like the touch controls all that much though, prefer a knob or a button!

What cleaning function? Ours does not have pyro and the steam clean function absolutely does not get off anything. It’s a gimmick.

By self clean do you mean pyro? Ours doesn’t have pyro just an option to poor water and washing up liquid in the base which heats up for 20 mins. It does not clean off anything.

Our local very good oven cleaning man refuses to clean Neff ovens. He’s solidly booked from September to December by the end of summer holidays, but will not entertain a Neff oven.

Yes you’d think so. I wonder if I could use one of the many robust cleaning products out there but if it says not to I’m reluctant to thus making it an oven you can’t clean.

Probably because of what the manuals say about not using cleaning products on them other than washing up liquid. So wish I hadn’t bought it. The fancy hide and slide door doesn’t make up for the fact you can’t clean it.

We’ve got a 10 year old wall of 3 Neff ovens (not hide & slide) and they’re pretty okay. They came with the house, but I’ve never really had any issues with them. It must be a newer problem, the classic “why fix something that isn’t broken!”

RollerTop · 10/11/2025 06:37

I have a hide and slide. I do use the pyro function about twice a year for a deep clean. But weekly I use normal oven cleaner on it and it's perfectly fine !

We have had NEFF hide and slide oven for 8 years and have always used normal oven cleaner on it. It's fine.

That said, we don't use it a great deal. Just the grill for toast and perhaps once a week or less for roasting or heating things.

Ginmonkeyagain · 10/11/2025 06:44

We do use one of those oven protector sbeets on the bottom of it and always cover tbe grill tray with foil. That isn't a NEFF oven thing though, I just hate cleaning ovens.

Can’t use oven sheets on the bottom because of the heating element - manual says so!😖

I love my pyro neff.
I did want a hide and slide door too ( i love bake off) but in the end i think I would have just got it for that so wasn't worth it.
The pyro was non negotiable and I have no regrets.

Ginmonkeyagain · 10/11/2025 06:53

@Va11et just don't use that setting. It's shit anyway. We only use the grill and the fan oven setting.

Not everybody wants pyro. I don’t. But having spent hundreds of pounds on two ovens I expect to be able to clean them .

Kind of worried about the teens using that setting. 😖

I’ve never read the instructions. Csnt be arsed with the pyro function as it says you have to take all the metal shelf supports out and that sounds like a faff. I just use mr muscle and it’s fine,

Yes, I use Astonish oven cleaner and also use a silicon mat at the bottom.
