To think hide and slide doors don’t make up for the fact Neff ovens are impossible to clean.

Didn't get pyro as don’t want the bills and high temperatures. Can see why many do though as Neff ovens are impossible to clean without. There is a whole list of what you can’t use to clean them and the stupid steam function doesn’t do anything. For the price surely they should be easier to clean!

3 Neff ovens and a microwave 🎶

Sorry OP no advice, I just have a bog standard oven that cleans with normal stuff, not:

Have to say I’m amazed someone who can afford three neff ovens is concerned about their electric bill for using the pyro function every now and then. If things are that tight maybe only buy two neff ovens and used the saved money for electricity?

I consider myself not very well off in my 3 bed semi with a tiny kitchen which wouldn’t fit more than one oven but I wouldn’t even think about the electricity costs for using the pyro function on. 😁

fluffiphlox · 10/11/2025 07:35

I just get the man in now and again.

Jellycatspyjamas · 10/11/2025 07:37

I’ve used oven cleaner on my Neff oven with no ill effects. The steam clean is meant to loosen grease and muck for a weekly maintenance clean, not to present you with a shiny new oven each time. I find using steam weekly and then a stronger clean every 6 months or so keeps it in good condition. Mind you I’m replacing the kitchen soon and pyrolitic cleaning is top of my list.

I don’t have 3 and a microwave.

I did a lot of research and decided against pyro for several reasons not just cost. The Neff oven I got was still £££ and one should be able to clean it. We have 2, one is just used for high days and holidays so no real extra cost.

I’ve just got a Neff hide and slide oven when we replaced the kitchen and it says you have to take the whole bloody door off to clean the glass properly! It’s bloody filthy because me and DH are worried about messing it up!

mamagogo1 · 10/11/2025 07:50

I have a different brand, the instructions were full of don’t use this or that to clean, i ignore and use Waitrose oven cleaner for ovens and hob cleaner for the hob

RollerTop · 10/11/2025 09:03

Op I think you're overthinking this and stressing about nothing. Just use any old oven cleaner and you'll be fine. Use the pyro function once or twice a year. It's not going to double your energy bill.

StrawberrySquash · 10/11/2025 09:18

Do people actually find the hide bit useful? I always worry it looks like you end up with the door open for longer and so lose heat. It's not like you are leaving the door open while you walk around the kitchen anyway. But interested to hear from people who use them day to day.

Pyro all the way. My neff is spotless i love them, I have 3 of them and the microwave

Same here

Yes, I love it. Makes everything much quicker and easier.

caramac04 · 10/11/2025 09:24

That sounds rubbish tbh. I’ve got the pyro function and it works well. I don’t need to do it very often as I cook in Ninjas (and have to bloody wash them up every night instead).
If I had a smart meter the pyro clean electricity usage might give me a heart attack
I also have the steam function for pre pyro and it’s not very good, I usually do that twice and I leave the racks in to loosen any grime. I hate cleaning the racks but my big tray for Lakeland helps although emptying it is an art.

Me too. I absolutely love pyrolytic ovens, they’ve completely saved me as I just cannot work out how to clean a normal oven ! How are you supposed to clean the roof with the elements in the way ?! I’m in a rental with no pyrolytic oven and I’m fretting how on earth to clean it, has anyone got any suggestions please ‘

Ginmonkeyagain · 10/11/2025 09:43

The hide and slide door is great. We have a small galley kitchen so it really helps in terms of space and accessing the oven.

TwilightAb · 10/11/2025 09:48

I have a pyro one and it does make it a lot easier to clean inside. The door however is impossible!

Mine hasn’t got pyro and the manual is very clear that cleaners should not be used. It cost £££ of pounds and I don’t want to damage the coating.

You can clean the oven.

How? The steam clean is useless and does nothing. The manual says not to use oven cleaners as it will damage the coating.

Mine was also £££. They write that as if it does in some way get damaged by you by chemicals then it would be their fault for not telling you not to use anything except water and mild detergent which let's face it, is never gonna work to clean a dirty and heavily used oven.

Don't be scared, just use the oven cleaners or whatever you normally use! Life is too short!

Where does that leave us though if it does damage the coating?

What cleaning function? Ours does not have pyro and the steam clean function absolutely does not get off anything. It’s a gimmick.

The one where you pour warm soapy water into the bottom and it steams itself, and then your scrub the insides down.
