Can anyone find me a rug that doesn’t cost the earth?!

It seems impossible? I just want a couple of decent sized rugs for a large bedroom and living room. Everywhere I’ve looked is minimum 300!!!

Tried Ikea? I have a lovely large rug from there for 180.

Createausername1970 · 06/11/2025 15:02

IKEA and Dunelm are where I bought from previously.

Dunelm , the rugs are excellent quality and reasonably priced

Ya10 · 06/11/2025 15:44

They’re still over 100 though even in Dunelm!

What size and how much are you wanting to pay?

Statsquestion1 · 06/11/2025 15:48

you’re not gonna get anything of good quality for cheap. Try Temu?

lynnebenfieldshandbag · 06/11/2025 15:59

Charity shops (the bigger ones with furniture) often have great rugs.

HouseofDreams · 06/11/2025 15:59

Marketplace or gumtree if you want really cheap

MarxistMags · 06/11/2025 16:02

TK Maxx had nice ones last week.

Maybeishouldcrochet · 06/11/2025 16:05

Have you tried your local market- ours have them on this. And they are great (and much cheaper than IKEA and Dunelm....)

Tammygirl12 · 06/11/2025 16:07

Free cycle

Miriamfriend · 06/11/2025 16:08

La Redoute- they often have 40% offers on

Perplexin · 06/11/2025 16:08

Online home shop!

lostintranslation148 · 06/11/2025 16:24

I bought this one and love it. Prefer it to the more expensive real sheepskin one I had before. Super cheap but may not be big enough.

Seconding this. The Boston wool border rugs are lovely and come in a range of nice colours.

I think 100 quid for a biggish rug is pretty good, amazon and wayfair have cheaper ones but the quality will be bad (although that might not matter, i get cheap ones for the kids rooms because theyll not want them in a few years when they grow up a bit more). The big area rug I got from Made was gorgeous and lasted ages so I was happy to pay about 250 for it, I've had it years now - they've got some small ones for as low as £40 online.... you could also try H and M home, they sometimes have some bargains.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 06/11/2025 17:07

£100 is extremely cheap for a large rug though? How much do you think it should be?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 06/11/2025 17:10

Depends on size. If you're looking at 1m x 1m rugs for £300 that's expensive. If you're looking at 2m x 3m for £100, that's cheap.

SweepLovesSoo · 06/11/2025 17:15

If you look all of the time on next clearance you will probably be able to get one. £100 isn’t much for a rug though. IKEA is the only place that have rugs for not much money. Costco have MASSIVE rigs but not for £100. I’ve got a massive house with no carpets so I feel your pain. Carpets are much better value.

Tidypidy · 06/11/2025 17:16

Are you anywhere near a Trago Mills? Lots of lovely rugs at very reasonable prices.

Sunnydays60 · 06/11/2025 17:24

I got a couple from rugvista recently in a sale. They seem really nice and decent quality. They've got black Friday offer on at the moment
