It seems impossible? I just want a couple of decent sized rugs for a large bedroom and living room. Everywhere I’ve looked is minimum 300!!!

Another vote for wayfair here. I got a huge one for the bedroom for under £100. It came folded up in a parcel and it can go in the washing machine

this is the one I got but they have loads of choice

Agree with tk maxx or homesense. I’ve recently bought a couple of beautiful 100% wool Indian rugs and they are lovely. 2.5m x 1.5 or 1.75 can’t remember for around £150

Go to a carpet shop, buy a roll end, and either get it bound round the edges or I’ve discovered that running a glue gun round it works equally well! Ours would have cost upwards of £500 if we’d bought it as a rug - got it for £80 :)

Try Vinted

I think looking at a local auction house definitely has potential. Near me there's one place that does a big auction of old household stuff twice a week so there must be plenty of throughput.

My last rug purchase was in B&Q (strangely!).

100% proper wool and was reduced to £60 😃.

Asda

la redoute for rugs, always. Don't buy full price, there is an offer on most times, normally 40%.

However you're probably still looking at about £100+ a rug, which for the quality is good value.

I paid £119 for this last week on a different offer, for 200cm by 250cm. It's incredibly soft and lovely thick pile.

Came on to suggest La Redoute too!

@Cremefraicheeee I have this rug and another Berber style one from there too - 2 years in and still looking fab ☺️

If you're looking at washable rugs then check your washing machine's load weights. I need washable rugs (dog...) and I bought a lovely one for the kitchen, then went out and bought another slightly larger for the living room and the damn thing won't fit in the washing machine! I do have quite a small washing machine to be fair - and I have to take it out and hose it down outside.

There are no launderettes within forty miles, so that's out.

If you want a large rug for less than £100 it won’t be decent quality.
