It seems impossible? I just want a couple of decent sized rugs for a large bedroom and living room. Everywhere I’ve looked is minimum 300!!!

Have just ordered some from Wayfair that were under £100 each and have fab reviews as well

LuigiGhostDog · 07/11/2025 22:53

Ours are from Ikea and Argos, living room one is probably 7ft x 4ft, it was £79

caringcarer · 07/11/2025 22:59

I got this one it cost £75 and measurements 200 x 290. They do other sizes and colours. They are Hessian backed and quite thick. Vacuums well. I've had mine two years with 2 dogs and 2 cats and I thought I'd not spend a lot as I expected to replace due to pets but tbh it still looks as new.

Charity shops (the bigger ones with furniture) often have great rugs.

This.

DD bought her first flat a couple of years ago and got several good items of furniture from charity shops and also some lovely rugs for only a few quid

you’re not gonna get anything of good quality for cheap. Try Temu?

Buy secondhand and get it cleaned. Be able to get much better quality that way

Cremefraicheeee · 08/11/2025 16:14

la redoute for rugs, always. Don't buy full price, there is an offer on most times, normally 40%.

However you're probably still looking at about £100+ a rug, which for the quality is good value.

https://www.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-350464268.aspx

I paid £119 for this last week on a different offer, for 200cm by 250cm. It's incredibly soft and lovely thick pile.

George has some excellent value rugs in really nice designs. We have a large one in the living room that was under £80 and I bought through topcashback fir extra money off!

minipie · 08/11/2025 16:25

Agree with La Redoute and agree £100 is cheap for a large rug.

Onlyfornow · 08/11/2025 16:27

Local auction houses often have rugs

Unlikely to work out cheaper. I paid around £70 to get a simple Kilim rug cleaned.

Mine was £30 on a 7x5

Habitat rugs at Argos are good value.

you won’t get a decent tug for much under 100 quid. Kukoon rugs are not extortionate and lots are machine washable

Blueyelloworange · 08/11/2025 19:57

You could try searching online for 'chindi' rugs or recycled rugs- you can get really big ones for not that much and they tend to be cotton which is nice. These are one example: https://rugs.co.uk/multi-white-10x14-chindi-cotton-area-rug-33199842

TalulahJP · 08/11/2025 20:01

QVC have shaggy rugs in different colours that are reasonably priced.
Item 518986 All sizes.
For example:
120x170 £60 delivered.
160x230 £100 delivered.

All are on five interest free easy payments and you get 60 days to try at home. You just pay the postage to send back if you then choose not to keep. Whats not to like if you want a shaggy rug.

FullOfMomsense · 08/11/2025 20:02

Dunelm, ikea are shite

ladygindiva · 08/11/2025 21:04

I got two lovely Indian looking rugs from Argos for under £100. Very large. Variety of colours. They look nice too.

Papyrophile · 08/11/2025 21:08

That price you think too high may be what it really costs. We cannot continue to undervalue other countries' labour costs so you can buy a rug cheaply,
