Someone who’s passionate, young and willing to break the rules in politics, all while caring about his city and the people in it. I wish we had someone like that here.

It’s the fact they’re now trying to say that disagreeing with Jewish people is antisemitism.

They can say what the hell they want; I don’t value their opinions at all. In fact, I skim read their bullshit. Absolutely not buying it/will never accept whatever comes out of their hole.

It’s honestly really amused me. “90% of Jews believe Israel has the right to exist, so being anti Zionist is 90% the same thing as being anti semitic”

okay so by that logic I’m anti semitic because I’d bet a huge proportion of Jews around the world aren’t Liverpool fans and I am 🤔

Who is the ‘they’ referring to in these posts? And what a way to talk about people.

“They” are probably the people who are coming onto every thread and accusing people of being antisemitic for having different views to them.

That’s not how that works at all.

Zionism has evolved to be the belief that Israel has the right to take land from other countries in order to expand. I do not believe that that is true. Does that make me anti semitic? No. I believe that Israel has the right to exist. But that doesn’t mean they have the right to act as they have been.

In any event, he won by nearly 20% in Brooklyn, which is one of the largest Jewish boroughs of New York.

No that is not what Zionism means. Some Zionists may think that way but its not the definition of Zionism. Zionism is not about how the government of Israel behaves. How could it be? Zionism ecisted long before the state of Israel existed. Only extremists layer on extra meaning for their own purposes.

Except that isn't what is happening, is it?

Literally yes. The post I responded to said it was anti semitic because it disagrees with “90% of British Jews”

Reading back it seems it’s aimed at anyone with a different opinion who is then accused of being a bot. Then some unpleasant response to that.

I thought people wanted less division not more?

On Mamdani his speeches are rousing and promise a lot, it’ll be interesting to see if he can do it.

It’s a well known fact that Israel and Russia use social media bots.

So which posters specifically on this thread do you mean?

I have my suspicions. It’s fairly easy to tell when you start looking for patterns.

Ok so have the courage to say who, or stop trying to undermine posters.

You do enjoy talking about people on this thread being bots but then can’t say who.

Poor form isn’t it just because they don’t agree with you.

Notice you didn’t call out the racist post about Mamdani making a speech in Arabic. Unsurprising.

I never actually made that accusation. I said it’s well known that Israel and Russia use bots on social media. You then drew the conclusion that I meant people on this thread. There’s no smoke without fire.

Me too. It’s hard to tell how much of it is just cities tending to lean more democratic versus actual rejection of MAGA and what it stands for, but it feels like a small win.

Being multilingual is an amazing talent. I’d love to see some properly intelligent people in charge.

He also speaks Spanish. Instead of terrorizing communities, he's trying to talk to them. How awful.

It’s the fact they’re now trying to say that disagreeing with Jewish people is antisemitism.

They also ignore the fact that he couldn't have been elected if he hadn't been supported by and voted for by Jewish New Yorkers. The Jewish NYC Comptroller, Brad Lander, supported and campaigned for Mamdani and Mamdani has been endorsed by a number of rabbis.

There is a long history of Jews in left-wing politics.

It’s a crying shame that the genuine struggles of Jewish people have been co-opted by the far right in an attempt to score points.
