It could be someone like my friend who thinks anyone smaller than her is slim/skinny when they clearly aren't - I'm 12-14 and she thought her 16 yr old daughters size 6-8 skirt would fit me 🫣.

Like a form of body dysmorphia but on other people.

My manager once guessed my size for a work uniform as “12 or 14?”- I was 5’2, 8 stone and an 8-10. I was never sure if she was being catty or genuinely couldn’t tell I wasn’t a 14!

Oh mate, you in no way look like a size 16. Your 'friend' is not your friend. Steer well clear of whoever said this to you. It was said purely to hurt. You look a completely normal healthy weight and you have a lovely figure.

OP please believe people when they tell you that only someone who is trying to have a dig at you would say you're a 16. Unless they are so at one extreme or the other that they have no idea of the reality of middle-of-the-range sizing. The vast majority of people correctly guessed 10-12.

Everyone carries weight differently.

At my heaviest I was 21st, and a size 22.
At my lightest was about 9st and a size 8/10.
Currently around 13st and in a 14.
