Walking / hiking

newly into fountain pens as an extension of the above
quilt-making

atamlin · 20/10/2025 22:05

Child-rearing
Cooking
Laundry
Cleaning
Searching for objects lost by others

I’ve got multiple children and it’s just me doing everything for them so if a hobby is collapsing on the bed while my toddler falls asleep and myself falling asleep at 8.30 listening to an audiobook, that’s my hobby.

Seriously though, I’d love to have a hobby again. I’m really good at needlework so I might get back into that in a decade.

MagicLoop · 20/10/2025 22:07

Running
Yoga
Pilates
Knitting
Crochet
Spinning (on a spinning wheel)
Singing in a choir

That sounds like a lot, now I type it out. I don't spend as much time as I'd like on my craft hobbies. For pilates I go to a class. Yoga and running I just do on my own when I can fit them in!

ChaliceinWonderland · 20/10/2025 22:07

Running.
Knitting.
Wild swimming
Birdwatching.

ThePoliteLion · 20/10/2025 22:10

I find the term hobbies a bit cringe, yes! And it reminds me of trying hard to improve my 1980’s CV with a couple of “interesting hobbies”. Truthfullly, when I was young, I had no hobbies save reading. But now I have several: dog walking, long distance trails (without my dogs), visiting historic towns, poking around old buildings, sitting in coffee shops. OK, the last one isn’t a hobby. I still love to read.

Painting

walking

MyAcornWood · 20/10/2025 22:15

Horse riding, shooting, swimming (pool and ‘wild’), surfing in the summer, skiing in the winter, reading constantly. I have little time these days for many hobbies but still. I also have a motocross bike, but my nerve somewhat failed me once I had children, so it languishes in one of the barns.

Iris2020 · 20/10/2025 22:16

Sewing
Swimming
Violin playing

EveryDayisFriday · 20/10/2025 22:16

Gym
Painting (I'm not creative though, I have intricate paint by numbers from China that are look amazing when finished)
Podcasts, I love these when driving, at work or walking the dog.
I am a newbie knitter.

I'd love some more hobbies that get me out of the house a bit more.

Hello fellow sewists! Love sewing so much - really diverting and satisfying and you learn a lot about yourself.

Unfortunately I also love the sewing side hobbies of buying fabric and patterns.
