If you could wake up tomorrow with a specific singer’s voice, whose would you choose and why?

Inspired by another thread, mine would be Karen Carpenter.

In all honesty, I’d like my voice back - I used to be a good mezzo soprano - I read Music and sang solos with the university philharmonic.

Sadly age and long covid have robbed me of my voice - I can’t sing the high notes any more - I’m more of e tenor now - and I’m too exhausted to sing at all. I used to love singing, but the loss of my voice, and a rather bruising encounter with some ‘characters’ in the local chamber choir, have robbed me of any joy in singing.

Yes! The first time I heard Sarah Connolly was at a dress rehearsal of Dido and Aeneas, and even not singing out she was still absolutely mesmerising. And BF is great. Either of them, or Kathleen McInnes.

So many singers with lovely tones though - Bjork, Amy Whinehouse, Amy Lee. Not my cup of tea but Lady Gaga can SAAANG!!
