I have a friend who works in a Reform led council.

They came in with a Bullish attitude.

Realised quite quickly that a lot of the things they said they were going to change were Central, not local, Government responsibilities.

Found out that all the savings they were going to make be sacking Diversity officers etc, didn’t exist.

Are now in a Budgetary cycle, with a legal responsibility to present a balanced budget, and are having to cut services they said they would cut, and charge for things they said they wouldn’t charge for.

They were ill-prepared.

The fact that she wanted someone to ‘tell her’ what the issue was rather than understand it and analyse it herself. The kind of idiocy Reform rely on - just take what we tell you, don’t waste your time actually understanding

So let’s change the law - this looks to be happening thankfully

I can't help but think Reform is some weird trojan horse strategy of the Tories (bear with me here and Don your tinfoil hats).

So Big Money invented Reform to get voted in and seriously fuck everything up. Dismantle the nhs and what's left of the welfare state.

When the country is defunct the Tories come back and rescue us. Yet never again do we have 'free' healthcare or disability benefits.... or anything.

I feel like we're in early 1930s Germany just watching how an extremist party gains traction.
