😂😂😂 Looks like a Vicar of Dibley parish council meeting. Terrifying to think these people are in charge of one of the biggest council budgets in the UK when they clearly haven’t got a fucking clue what they’re doing 😂

Tiebiter · 18/10/2025 21:39

The unprofessionalism is quite staggering.

It's not so funny for the poor people who work at councils that have become Reform led. I have a couple of family members at Kent Council, the stories I'm hearing are horrific and so stressful for them.

And those of us who are KCC tax payers. It's dreadful. But weirdly enough, and I would NEVER vote for them ie Reform or UKIP, this problem is all due to the prior Tory central govt and dominant Tory Council at KCC. So our bills rise, the boat numbers increase, SEN support in the county falls and adult social care is non-existent. And Brexit/recent immigration changes impact our farms. And we have pot holes. I would not want to be in charge of Kent now.

Blump2783 · 18/10/2025 21:28

Fuck around find out as they say in the USA. They got what they voted for. They can have my thoughts and prayers. Well the ones who voted for them. I feel sorry for the minority.

Exactly! I feel sorry for the folks who voted 'against' them. The ones who voted them in or couldn't be bothered to vote to prevent this, can suck it up.

1457bloom · 18/10/2025 21:44

At least they’re not as hopeless as Labour!

hiredandsqueak · 18/10/2025 21:44

We are Reform in Derbyshire too unfortunately. Their introduction videos have been amusing me for the last couple of weeks, it's like a police line up. Worrying to think that the council is being led by people who seem to struggle to voice a lucid thought and are in charge of millions when they give the impression that they'd struggle with getting the right change from a fiver.
Councillor with resposibility for SEND and education has just resigned "for personal reasons" after unlawfully and unilaterally closing Adult Education Centres. Waiting to read the real reason for resignation in the local paper and it will probably be scandalous.

Strangely the Daily Mail hasn’t picked up this story….

There's a surprise.....

dearydeary · 18/10/2025 21:47

The sad thing is they are currently ruining this council and this will have long term consequences ☹️

Did you not watch the video? They make Labour look like rocket scientists.

I'm in Kent and definitely didn't vote for them! I wonder if I can seek asylum to another county? Might just pop down to Sussex in a dinghy.

I feel for you, my cousin voted for Rosie Duffield and despairs at Reform. They promise simple answers to complex questions, but have no talent at providing even the basics.

Up my way, Durham and Northumberland have been sacking some of their party members.

Durham canned the plan to put soar panels on council properties, on the grounds that they won't see savings for 7 years. Long term strategy be damned and instead of free electricity in 8 years, carry on paying high prices for eternity.

Crikeyalmighty · 18/10/2025 22:02

The problem is to many voters they are buying into the Farage straight talking - like a pint and don’t like foreigners or the woke messages of today without realising it’s built on fresh air and the guys coming in to do the donkey work decision making are mainly a bunch of Freemason type weirdos or failed Torys fancying a second bite at the expenses cherry who think running the council is the same as running a plumbers supplies yard

Yes I know people who work at Kent Libraries. They've had to deal with sime shitshows.

Nescafeneeded · 18/10/2025 23:19

I care far more about them doing what they say they will do than nicey-nicey words to their colleagues.

We are going to live or die on that budget. If we don’t balance the books you can forget Reform winning the next election. It’s that crucial,” she told them.
’If we can avoid putting up council tax by the full 5% that is going to be the best thing that we can do to show that Reform can actually run something as big as Kent council, because let’s not forget we are the shop window in KCC. People are looking at us, they are judging us every single day, every single minute of every single day. Nigel knows that. He is super aware that we are the flagship council.”

I find this reassuring, they care what we think, they know their priorities, they intend to do what they said they will do by whatever means.

Who is the most competent politician in Reform and what is their proven track record? Tell us what hope they’re offering you.

Nescafeneeded · 18/10/2025 23:20

This isn’t the own goal you think OP as most Reform voters will approve of everything said!

Nothing.

Reform are seizing the bull by the horns re our MASSIVE council debts and are the proverbial hammer in the toolbox.

A bit of bad language was used and not everyone likes a forceful approach but softly softly wasn’t working.

Depends on if you want style or substance, I want the latter
