How many duvet covers?

How many duvet covers do you have for the bed you sleep in?

I have about 10 AIBU?

I have 4 for my bed and many single ones and 2 doubles for guest bed

Sprogonthetyne · 17/10/2025 19:36

I have two I like and actually use, then I have 5 quite washed out ones that match the colour scheme of the bedroom from previous houses I've lived in. These exist solely to take up cupboard space because I'd feel guilty getting rid of something that is still usable.

2lsinllama · 17/10/2025 19:38

3 - similar principle to ‘wash, wear and spare’. The spare bed has its own 3 sets.

OchreSwan · 17/10/2025 19:44

Quite surprised by the number of people with loads! Where do you keep it all?!

We just have two sets for our bed - one 100% linen and one 100% cotton. Ideally I’d like another 100% linen set but they’re so expensive, I’m waiting for a good sale.

BauhausOfEliott · 17/10/2025 19:44

Three, although one of them is kind of an understudy

ThejoyofNC · 17/10/2025 19:44

Far too many. I love seasonal bedding so I have spring/summer/autumn/winter ones in seasonal colours and then festive ones for Easter/Halloween/Christmas. I've probably got over 20 sets. The Dunelm sale gets me every time.

Note to self: don't buy any more.

KookyRoseCrab · 17/10/2025 19:45

I have 3

03cg73 · 17/10/2025 19:46

I also buy far too many duvet sets. Currently we are alternating 3 summer ones, 2 brushed cotton ones for winter either side of Christmas and 2 festive ones for Christmas time.

I also have random ones that I should probably get rid of that aren’t really used anymore

Same for my kids beds. Christmas ones get stored with the Christmas tree etc. and the others are stored in bedding bags under the beds when they aren’t being used. Don’t have a linen cupboard anymore. We had to convert our loft and lost it to make the stairs up there. I don’t think they really take up much space

Belladog1 · 17/10/2025 19:46

I only have the one

MonsterMunched · 17/10/2025 19:47

Loads. About eight normal and three Christmas?! Too many! Two of the kids use their tartan “festive” ones all year round. Three or four is plenty surely?

Mokel · 17/10/2025 19:51

4 covers
Each cover set I have there are a pair of base pillowcases, another set of pillowcases of a contrasting colour and two sheets. Change the bedding weekly with the matching pillowcases used the first week. Duvet cover and base pillowcases are changed fortnightly

teacupzs · 17/10/2025 19:53

About 5, all White Company. All plain white with a trim, edge etc.

Lovemycat2023 · 17/10/2025 19:10

For those of you who have brushed cotton ones do they feel nice and warm and cosy in the winter? I could definitely do with more of that (I do have a teddy bear topper which is good but I always feel cold)🥶

Yes, it does make a bit of a difference but get an electric blanket if you don't have one already, it will change your life (well, it'll change bedtime). And also get a duvet size up from your mattress size, we have a king size duvet on an ordinary double bed and it's delightful to have so much duvet!

I have a couple of duvet sets for spring/summer/autumn and a nice Christmassy one for winter.

LuffyMe · 17/10/2025 19:54

Just the 2 here. One of which is lyocell which is lovely in the summer but a bit chilly initially in the colder weather.

Apocketfilledwithposies · 17/10/2025 19:55

I have three sets, one of those is a Xmas set.

Where do you store them all?!

soupyspoon · 17/10/2025 19:55

I just chucked a load out so now Ive only got about 5 and I was eyeing up some new ones in Dunelm the other day. Had to walk away swiftly.

Happyher · 17/10/2025 19:55

3 - 1 to use, 1 to wash and 1 spare

DysonLover1 · 17/10/2025 20:01

Had 4 duvet covers, all the same classic white M&S Autograph with 2 pillowcases each. Thrown one out, one is still new in the packet and 2 are being used. Wash one, and put the other on. Don’t need anymore than 2 on the go at one time.

Dliplop · 17/10/2025 20:01

5 between two beds the same size

Kitchenbattle · 17/10/2025 20:02

2 for myself and dps bed
3 each for the DCs beds

scaredfriend · 17/10/2025 20:03

Two. One on, one in the wash

Thehop · 17/10/2025 20:03

Each bed has 2 sets.

mondaytosunday · 17/10/2025 20:05

Three but I only use one now. I bought a coverless duvet for summer and just put a very cosy plush duvet cover on it in winter. My DD has four, two for summer, one autumnal one and a winter themed one (she has two single ones at uni). My son has two possibly more as they seem to get buried under his mountain of laundry (he doesn’t live with me).

BeretRaspberry · 17/10/2025 20:06

8 currently. 2 white Dorma. 2 summer pattern. 2 autumn pattern and 2 Christmas sets. 2 of each because I like to have one ready to put back on straightaway.

Meadowflower2023 · 17/10/2025 20:08

tripleginandtonic · 17/10/2025 18:51

3, same as above, my festive one is brushed cotton amd more wintery than only Christmas.
