How many duvet covers do you have for the bed you sleep in?

I have about 10 AIBU?

Two!

Same, one on the bed and one washed for the next change.

I used to have more but had a big clear out of anything a bit tatty and actually it’s loads easier and less to store with just two sets per bed.

Homegrownberries · 17/10/2025 19:04

Just one. It's washed and back on the bed in the same day. I hate clutter.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/10/2025 19:04

None, life is too short for duvet covers. I have a double coverless duvet I can shove in the washing machine and it's dry over the banister in 2 hours.
I stick a thick blanket over the top if its cold.

Meredusoleil · 17/10/2025 19:05

I think I have 6-10.

2 light cotton summer ones
2 dark winter ones
4 in between ones for spring/autumn

Or something along those lines!

Xiaoxiong · 17/10/2025 19:06

Between 4 beds that are all the same size we have 7 sets so 1 set on each bed, and 3 folded up ready to go, or actively being washed.

The guest bed gets changed after a guest has stayed so my least favourite set just stays on that one (it's just quite plain, I'm not being mean to the guests I swear). That set is rarely in wider circulation as it just gets washed and put straight back on.

OrangeCrushes · 17/10/2025 19:06

Three, which is an odd accident - only meant to buy two, but then realised that a king sized duvet cover that I purchased for the king sized duvet in the spare room is actually too big and only fits our super king duvet.

I kind of want to buy a fourth with a cheerful pattern. All my other bedding is white.

EveryDayisFriday · 17/10/2025 19:10

2 and they are both white. Very boring but I love white bedding.

Lovemycat2023 · 17/10/2025 19:10

For those of you who have brushed cotton ones do they feel nice and warm and cosy in the winter? I could definitely do with more of that (I do have a teddy bear topper which is good but I always feel cold)🥶

Peridoteage · 17/10/2025 19:13
  1. Two darker coloured ones we use in winter, two light ones we alternate in summer. However we have a spare room & that does not have dedicated bedding, we just use a spare set from the four.
Makingadecision · 17/10/2025 19:13

Two

Wafflefinder · 17/10/2025 19:15

Three for my bed but contemplating buying a brushed cotton set.

The kids have more - 3 cotton sets each & then 2 fleecy sets for cold weather.

boys3 · 17/10/2025 19:18

Probably too many. Good prompt for a bit of a reassessment so thanks to @FannyCradocksDoughnut for creating the thread.

Katherineryan1986 · 17/10/2025 19:18

3 - one on, one in the wash and one in the cupboard. They are used rotationally so each gets equal use.

ToraMama · 17/10/2025 19:19

About 10 millions because i bloody love bedding. But i tend to use the same two.....

ThePoshUns · 17/10/2025 19:20

2

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 17/10/2025 19:22

I think 4…. 2 each for DH duvet and my duvet.

TubeScreamer · 17/10/2025 19:22

3

one on the bed
one spare in case of sickness (human or dog)
one can be in the wash/ ironing heap

RampantIvy · 17/10/2025 19:23

Wiglio · 17/10/2025 19:02

One on
One off
One in the wash
DM told me & I’ve stuck with it

Same here.

7catsisnotenough · 17/10/2025 19:25

I have around 10? Spring/ summer light colours and autumn/ winter darker shades. I also have sheets and matching pillow cases for each set (2 pillows each) In mitigation I have a plain bedroom so changing the bed really changes the room...honestly?? 🤣

Lemonem · 17/10/2025 19:25

3 , 1 of which is just for winter/Christmas

siliconcover · 17/10/2025 19:26

3 (1 on, 1 off, 1 in the wash) all plain white brushed cotton (cold old house in Scotland)

Cynic17 · 17/10/2025 19:28

I think 4 (maybe 5?), of different levels of quality, but allows for at least one to be always in the laundry waiting to be collected.
All of them are white. Obviously.

Digdongdoo · 17/10/2025 19:29

3, but 1 is really just a spare for when we pull the spare bed into a double.

Elle771 · 17/10/2025 19:29

Titasaducksarse · 17/10/2025 18:50

3
2 normal and 1 festive

This . Any more than that seems pointless

Brushed cotton is very cosy for winter. I highly recommend!
