Fans banned from match

WTAF?!

https://news.sky.com/story/maccabi-tel-aviv-fans-will-not-be-allowed-to-attend-aston-villa-match-amid-safety-concerns-13451240

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans banned due to safety concerns AGAINST them?

Since when is it ok to victim blame and penalise people who have done nothing wrong? Surely the right course of action would be either to ban ALL fans of both sides or better police the event?

So are Jews not welcome at sports games now? Because some people are racist bullies?

I genuinely can’t believe this has been allowed. Where does it end? Can Jews no longer safely access society? What if the risk is high elsewhere, will they be banned then?

What do you think? AIBU to think this is discriminatory and a slippery slope?

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans will not be allowed to attend Aston Villa match amid safety concerns

Police say the decision is based partly on what happened in Amsterdam last year, when Israeli fans attending a match against Ajax were targets of antisemitic attacks.

When has the UK been left? The conservatives weren’t left and look what a shit show they made.

Cutting public services makes the public (especially working class and vulnerable people) feel hard done by - quite rightly. This is why people are angry. Not because of Labour who have been in power for 5 minutes.

Im all for making points but let’s not completely lie and blame decades of conservative policy on labour.

Where did I mention conservatives or labour in my comment.
Clue ..I didn’t.

The commentator completely ignores the fact that at least 10 Dutch residents have already been convicted for their role in the violence/disorder, most receiving short prison sentences.

And there was a wassap group of 900 plus that was actively calling for “Jew hunting” and violence against Israelis

Double down news is left wing propaganda.

He's the MP how else do you want him to identify his patch? "My constituency" a possesive term would be 100% normal. Is this racism showing?

He is also the MP who gave an impassioned defence of first cousin marriage - let that sink in.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 18/10/2025 12:52

Proudofitbabe · 18/10/2025 00:06

It’s a disgrace. Nothing to do with “hooliganism” from some Tel Aviv fans at a football match. As a country we are well-used to policing them, and the fact we choose not to touch this one speaks volumes about the state of the local area. It’s clear this is a political decision, petitioned by an arrogant sectarian MP who’s talked about nothing but Gaza since he was elected. Fuck off.

This.

Lifesd · 18/10/2025 12:48

He literally advocated for incest in Parliament. How the hell have we reached this point?

The Israeli fans are vile and provocative
If thugs are going on the rampage gloating that there are no children left in Gaza it shows exactly what sort of lowlifes they are

“Some fans” will behave like that - just like “some muslims” are totally on board with death to all Jews?

Go back to watching GB news.

Ah yes the war cry when you don’t like to hear facts.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 18/10/2025 13:05

Firealarm1414 · 18/10/2025 05:28

So the UK should tell all the middle eastern Muslims that they arent welcome too then if you dont need issues imported from the middle east? I'm sure you didn't mean that though, just the jewish ones.

Quite.

Nestingbirds · 18/10/2025 13:19

The ONE thing every police officer is extremely experienced in is football hooliganism!!! It’s been a part of a lives for the best part of fifty years and it’s actually improved, the police can easily handle it - but there is a Muslim MP whom has decided to dress up his blatant anti semitism to try and ‘ban’ Israeli fans by suddenly claiming the police are incapable of dealing with a silly football match, we can ALL see what is happening here.

What would be next?

No Jewish person is allowed in Birmingham ‘for their own safety’?

All women in burkas ‘for their own safety’?

Closing down anywhere with alcohol etc etc etc.

This is a very very dangerous route to even be teetering on the edge of. This MP should be removed, I suggest, he does not possess British values or ethics and seems to think he can control the entire city.

Things are truly going from bad to worse.

Reform must be truly delighted -

Jewish people are free to attend this match, as well as every other match in the UK.

MTA fans are not, because they have shown that they are happy to destroy property and act like thugs.

HTH

Anthempart2 · 18/10/2025 13:29

Yes small areas will start declaring their own ‘rules’ which the government will not have the balls to stop, and the smiling tolerant lefties will say ‘how does it affect you? It’s their area’ - until it spreads, and spreads and before you know it we have swathes of towns and cities under their own rule and beyond.

  1. Why are you ignoring the history and reputation of violence that this club has?

  2. why are you ignoring that the purr on Amsterdam started with violence, vandalism, racism and hooligan behaviour from Maccabe. The (awful) Jew hunt WhatsApp was after, not before this and both sides were equally violent after the match.

  3. that banning away fans where a team has a bad reputation for hooliganism (which Maccabe does) is common. It being an Israeli team does not give it immunity.

I’m not entirely sure why some of you reform lot can’t get your heads around what has happened here?

MTA fans are violent thugs. The local police have said they don’t want violent thugs in the area.

Is this a joke?
The police can police a football match 😂😂 what do you think they have been doing for the last 50/60 years? Far worse than tin pot Aston Villa!! Do you even live in this country?

Yes. I am British.

You seem to be happy to ignore that football banning orders exist and stadium bans for away fans are a very common form of punishment in the football world.

Stop trying to remove from the original point the poster was making.

Nestingbirds · 18/10/2025 14:36

I can not imagine the backlash if we banned all Muslim fans because they certainty have their fair share of demented murderers and some!!

Even by your own standards of acccusing the Israeli fans - victim blaming by the way - you say it’s because they are too violent, but Muslim men, we can see from a long history they can be amongst the most violent and dangerous in the entire world, and have caused no end of carnage, should they ALL be banned just because one or two are crazy lunatics with explosives strapped on to them?

Do we tie up even decent Muslim men into that group and ban everyone? Do we ban them from concerts, airports, trains, schools. Basically anywhere with people if we use your own logic?

It really is beyond a joke that they should protest that the people of Birmingham are the ones ‘at risk’, when so many have joined witch hunts on FB intent on harming Jewish people.

Stop with the god damn gas lighting.

No one is buying a word of it.

They are certainly never ever used to target a certain race or religious group of people, no.

And they haven't been used in that manner here, either?

The police haven't said "no Jews can come to the match", nor have they said "no Israeli citizens can come to the match". They have said "no MTA fans can come to match".

The fan base you are speaking about ARE clearly all Jewish though. Stop being disingenuous.
