Neighbour fall out

we Live in a private road in a small and well to do area where everyone has dogs. I’m terrified of dogs. Yesterday my neighbour laughed when her large dog (off the leash ) jumped on my disabled child (whilst in wheelchair) I absolutely lost my shit and sufficient to say all is not well. Willing to admit I reacted vehemently and shouted at her and dog but am I in the wrong ?

I love dogs but am so sick of dogs behaving badly, don't have a dog if you aren't willing to put in the time and effort to fucking train it.
Also don't look at me like shit when I tell you it's not ok for your dog to jump up at me.

Unfortunately, dog owners expect everyone to love their dogs 🙄😣

So you expect everyone to love your dogs then?

Not necessarily, no, maybe I’m an exception. I also don’t expect everyone to love my kids either 😳

All the people who hate dogs will say YANBU and all the people who love dogs will say YABU.

For the sake of living happily in your little community you could approach the neighbour and say you're sorry about reacting so forcefully but you are afraid of dogs and would appreciate it if they would put their dog on a lead if you are around in future. You'll probably find she apologises for her part in it too. If not, I guess you'll have a future of skulking past each other and feeling uncomfortable.

Absolutely wrong. I love dogs, I’ve owned dogs and I’m a responsible owner when I have them. In no way is it OK to allow your dog to leap on anyone, regardless of whether they love or hate dogs. Utterly abysmal behaviour.

If it did happen as an accident, the owner should be the one apologising profusely.

As other PPs have said it is not just the possibility that the dog will hurt. My DD has SN and used to quite like dogs and wanted me to get one. After various big dogs jumped up at her she is now terrified of them and panics when one even comes near her.

I am trying to cure this fear but if these dogs had been properly under control I wouldn't be in this position.

Our neighbour has two out of control big dogs and we have had to put a gate up in the garden to stop them from coming in. The last time one of them repeatedly jumped up at me, despite the neighbour calling it back unsuccessfully, I was left with red marks on my chest where it had jumped at me.

So every other dog owner expects people to love their dogs except you, really? Hmm
