To ask if most straight men are attracted much younger women?

Had a depressing moment at work today, male colleague played a Jimmy Carr stand-up clip on his phone and it went along the lines of “if I had to pick my favourite child it would be my neighbour’s hot daughter.” The other men with him laughed at it. I couldn’t help feeling a bit nauseous and it’s made me question whether many older straight men actually do fantasise about girls in their late teens or whatever. Perhaps I have been naive to think it was something that just appealed to a minority of perverts. One or two of them have daughters too and it just strikes me as odd that they could even laugh at a joke like that. Am I naive to feel this way?

I think that you are looking at this from a woman’s perspective. I believe that many (or maybe most?) women need more than simple physical appearance to be attracted to someone. Men are different. They are much more visual. They may not want a relationship with a 15 year old, but they will be attracted to them, and would no doubt sleep with them if there were no consequences.

That's unfair, plenty of men know it's morally wrong to sleep with a 15yo as an adult.

Sorry, but in your user name because you like to flash from bushes or something?

🤣🤣

Seriously though, you don't really think that poster is a man?

You obviously don't understand how comedy works- The strawberry comment is not funny and is not meant to be- so how is it relevant?

Of course it was meant to be funny. Everyone understands that no amount of eating something will turn you into that item. My mum didn’t say it as a threat, but as a silly comment to elicit laughter. Which it did.

PrincessSophieFrederike · 09/10/2025 21:02

Do most adult women not find early 20s men attractive? Surely most do?

Whether they'd date them is ofc very different.

More controversial ofc is how many women find postpubescent teen boys attractive.

I did imagine myself holding a sword, poking out the eyes of the men ogling my DD aged 16 in Spain recently, she looks much younger too. Wearing a nice flower dress with sandals. Weirdo's. 🤮

Sadly I think Spain has some way to go in those stakes...

So, why have you name changed? Are you ashamed of yourself?

Also do you ask male friends if they fancy 15 year olds? That must be an odd conversation.

What do you think men talk about when alone with each other?

Look at the 70s,,when many men were open about finding even younger actress like Brooke Shields or Jodie Foster attractive.

And this society, or any other, wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for early men's (and women's) reproductive strategies. If males favoured pairing up females well into their 20s and 30s and females mated with the friendliest, gentlest males, rather than powerful ones with the most resources, Homo Sapiens, or one of its progenitors, would be long extinct. Evolution has specifically selected for the traits that you now find so detestable. Can you really not see this?

Do you think being friendly and gentle is less important than having resources- from a moral not evolutionary perspective, mind you?

Evolution also involved women being brood mares for a long time & often rape. Those are still detestable, evolution or not evolution.

Really?

I mean, attractive as in sexually attractive, not as in 'yes I'd marry/date this man, they're a good prospect'

What I think doesn’t matter. Evolution cares only about what works to further the species, not what is moral.

No it’s not paedophillia. Paedophillia is an attraction to prepubescent child. A 15 year old is adult from a biological perspective and men are hardwired to be attracted to them.

Yep.

What's weird is hebephilia, when men only like young adolescents.

Of course. Just the way you were writing, it almost seemed like you shared that same view as evolution does (not that it has a view as such, but ykwim)

Not for me nor my friends my age.
Our taste has followed us with age.
You tend to find women do like men similar to their age. Not 20/30 years younger.

Ballerinacappucine · 09/10/2025 21:21

Yes they definitely are! I’m sure lots would deny it very convincingly but I think it’s just the nature of the male species. They are programmed to feel this way as their bits still function reproductively for the most part, long after women. Many older men will love their middle aged wives and feel deeply connected to them, having a shared history together and raising children. However they absolutely fancy younger women and they have thoughts they wouldn’t dream of admitting- guaranteed

I certainly do not share those views. I just don’t understand why so many can’t, or won’t, understand that we’re dealing with a biological imperative, shaped by evolutionary pressures, not a sexual perversion.

No really you are more likely to have an early term birth under the age of 25. 25-35 are the lowest risk ages for having a baby. Thats a woman in her fertility prime. So it’s not just about reproduction.

I don’t really get it, I don’t find teenagers remotely attractive.

When I was pregnant at 16, the midwife said the opposite. You're more likely to be overdue if you’re younger, and deliver early of older.

Mid-late teens to mid 20s is the biological age for optimum fertility/pregnancy.

Yes that's why I don't find men who defend attraction to early-teen girls convincing since biologically that's not an optimal age for pregnancy.

Animals don’t wait for the optimal age for pregnancy. To maximise their chances of having plenty of offspring, they get started as soon as they can. Why would humans be any different?

Dont be silly a woman of 18 or 19 is not a child!! Of course nen are sexually attracted to women in tbe prime of their fertility andv health and thus Most able to make and birth healthy children. That is not perverted its a Perfectly normal evolutionary biological urge.

canchewcashew · 09/10/2025 22:16

I do think the average man finds teenage girls attractive, long after it would be thought appropriate, but that doesn't mean they'd act on an attraction to a 16- or 17-year-old. I wouldn't be impressed by an adult openly ogling a teenager, but it's not surprising that men find teen girls objectively appealing, based on their looks alone.

Are you repulsed by women for responding to their biological urges to have children, and seek a mate with access to resources? Or is that somehow different?
