To be utterly disgusted by the woman cutting down yellow ribbons commemorating the October 7th victims in Muswell Hill yesterday morning

When Jewish people are being attacked and murdered on their way to synagogue on Yom Kippur

When you literally can’t move or look in any direction without Palestine Palestine Palestine in our faces

On the eve of the anniversary of the worst atrocity committed against Jewish people since the Holocaust, a small, unobtrusive memorial for the victims of that unthinkable, barbaric attack was destroyed yesterday by a despicable woman who turned up with scissors and cut the ribbons down, one by one.

Ribbons for women and girls who were raped and murdered.
Ribbons for babies ripped from their parents’ arms and slaughtered.
Ribbons for men beaten to death.
Ribbons for the hostages still suffering every moment.

And this disgusting individual took it upon herself to come along with a pair of scissors and cut each one away. Her excuse? They “condone genocide”.

Let’s not pretend for a moment that that was her true motivation. It was a revolting demonstration of the antisemitism that has become so shamefully rife in this country that it sickens me.

This woman needs to be named and shamed for the loathsome person she is.

I'm also curious to know when you think Jews should be allowed back in Gaza, and not just as hostages? There is an ancient synagogue there that your previous posts seem to indicate we should all have free access to? Or does free access to holy sites only apply to some people?

Edited

Free access is different to ruling over the land as a sovereign state after already taking up many settlements. The land is holy with religious and historic ties for all.

confusedlady10 · 09/10/2025 00:39

Did I say that? No. I said one doesn't have the right to commit genocide of thousands because of how they were treated from 1000 BCB. Not increasing the goalpost of stealing more land and illegal settlements would have been a start.

What does "not increasing the goalpost" mean?

And Jewish people weren't just treated badly 1000BCE 🤦🏻‍♀️ It has been a constant thing throughout the years by the various colonisers.

You still haven't answered the question about what borders you think Israel should have. Is that because you are ignorant to what the different suggestions have been throughout the years or because you actually secretly think Israel shouldn't exist at all?

Right, so when will Jews have access to Gaza without being held hostage? There are plenty of religious and historic ties for Jews to the area.

A majority Jewish state on stolen land occupying majority. Not really fair is it? Being Jewish is not a problem at all. Stealing, raping and killing innocent Palestinians for their land due to more power and weaponry from the Israeli government isn't.

Why are you lying? You are trying to gaslight us into thinking it is Israelis who are the bad people. It’s like narcissism: projection and denial. You are literally lying in order to demonise. I am horrified. It feels almost like some people here are being sponsored by the MB.

I think this person is being paid or sponsored by the MB. Or else is no better than 3rd Reich. Such lies and tropes and unabashed propaganda.

Yes I am lying and making out Israelis are bad people. I have made everything up to push that narrative clearly. Ya got me! I apologise! 🙄

You don’t deserve a response from a Jew. Insh’allah you get what you deserve one day for your hatred towards the only Jewish country in the world among 52 terrorist ethnofascist states.

Hatred for genocide via a government committing war crimes and denying basic human rights to innocent Palestinians such as denying aid isn't a hatred for Jews. Hope that helps.

Everyone should be saying Fuck Hamas. Including those who are pro-Palestine. Including the people in Palestine who are suffering as a direct result of the attack.

But no. The people of Palestine that you feel so sorry for cheered in the street when they saw footage of the attacks. They crowded around the truck carrying Shani Louk’s beautiful, broken body and spat on her corpse.

But yellow ribbons and “Fuck Hamas” stickers make you uncomfortable. Ok.

Well, they didn't, did they? The children who've been killed in their thousands? No they didn't.

Hadmysay · 09/10/2025 01:57

Nestingbirds · 08/10/2025 20:54

No. This war has been rumbling on for nearly eight decades. The last two decades thanks to Hamas refusing to engage in any kind of peace process.

Edited

You dont know what your talking about.
Israel themselves have refused peace plans on numerous occasions themselves
Heck they even killed their own president in the 90s for trying to give the Palestinians more rights .
Also israel wants peace on their own terms so why should the other side engage ? Constantly trying to negotiate bad deals on your own terms, whilst constantly killing people and taking land is not wanting peace. It's trying to screw people over

Rabin wasnt the president, he was thebprime minister. At least know the basics.
And 'they' didn't kill him, one extremist did who is still in jail.
The peace deals offered by barak and olmert offered a state.over nearly all WB and Gaza with some land swaps. They will never get better. And if ending the occupation and having a state was really the final goal, they'd have accepted.

sabababa · 09/10/2025 06:05

confusedlady10 · 08/10/2025 23:35

Not on Oct 7 or when Hamas took over that's for sure. It may have been seen as holy land for the Jews first back in 1000BCE but that land belongs to many groups who been there for centuries including majority Arabs and Muslims from the 1800s onwards. It has many religious and historical ties for different people. I'd say the war started when Israel declared dependence and started expanding beyond borders, murdering and raping and forcing thousands of people out of their homes and expecting Palestinians to accept it.

You're just showing how little you know about the history of the region. Not surpising since you are breathtakingly ill informed for someone so opinionated.

The CONFLICT started more than a century ago with massacres like that in Hebron in 1929.

The 1947-1948 WAR (if that is the one you are refering to) did not start with the declaration of the state of Israel by Palestinian zionists, it had started long before. There was already a civil war in 1947. In May 1948, the Brits had had enough (and who can blame them after WW2, they were very war weary) and upped an dleft. The DAY the Brits left, the Palestinian Zionists got together adn declared a state of Israel. The Palestinian Arabs did not declare a State of Palestine. Why?

After israel was declared, then 5 Arab armies INVADED the new state to destroy it and take the land for themselves (evidenced by the lack of a Palestinian state in WB and Gaza from 1948-1967). Israel did not "expand beyond borders" as there were none, the Palestinian Arabs hadn't accepted any plan and had declared war.

The rapind, killing and displacement that you are so fond of repeating happened on both sides. Eveywehre that the Arabs held in mandatory Paletine the Jews were 100% ethnically cleansed.

Worralorra · 09/10/2025 06:58

I saw the footage and was appalled by it.

I really think that there is something going wrong in peoples brains at the moment - starting with the media and politicians.

Our language is being so degraded by, in no particular order:
Wilful spin (E.g. calling patriotic people Racist) and Deliberate misinterpretation (E.g. calling people who are anti-Hamas pro-Israeli), that some people seem to be having a hard time understanding nuance or rationality and are jumping to all sorts of incorrect conclusions.

You would have to perform some intensive mental gymnastics to decide that yellow ribbons (put up to keep the memory of individuals who are held hostage or have met a violent death, alive) MUST therefore mean that you support what Israel (the State) is currently doing to Gaza.

I imagine that if the scissor-wielding moron had lost a friend or relative in a car crash, and had decided to tie some flowers to a lamppost in memorial, she would be utterly appalled if an anti-car individual took down her flowers and threw them around “because they must have been joyriding”.

TBH, her actions were more akin to a chimpanzee screaming and throwing a fit and their own excrement around, with slightly less reason.

wineosaurusrex · 09/10/2025 07:14

I hope you are as disgusted by the genocide as you are by some bits of ribbon being removed.

Free access is different to ruling over the land as a sovereign state after already taking up many settlements. The land is holy with religious and historic ties for all.

Perhaps the Jordanian control of East Jeruslaem from 1948-1967 is a good example of what to expect if a Palestinian sate controlled jewish religious sites?
You know that golden time when tourists to East Jerusalem had to prove they weren't Jewish and when the Jewish ancient synagogues were destroyed and when tomnstones from jewish graveywards were used to pave roads and latrines for the Jordanian army.

At the same time, Muslims are allowed freely to play on the Temple Mount.

And you wonder why Israel won't ever give up sovereignty of the holiest sites of the Jewish people? So there can be a replay of 1948-1967?

SpaceRaccoon · 09/10/2025 07:50

I mean BC literally stands for Before Christ, born a Jew in Israel 1000 years after your dismissive date.

The one in Sudan? Or do you maybe mean Yemen?

sabababa · 09/10/2025 08:57

The one in Sudan? Or do you maybe mean Yemen?

Or Myanmar against the Rohingya? Or DRC? Or China against Uighur? Or Ethiopia in Tigray province?

Apparently it is only "THE" genocide and no need to further specify or even consider that there are many experts and bodies (including the UK) who have determined it's not genocide.

Skodacool · 09/10/2025 12:36

Humdingerydoo · 08/10/2025 23:18

Who was it holy for first? Who was there first? I just want to clarify this before you inevitably start going on about indigenous people and colonisation 🙄

In your so obviously expert opinion, when did it all start?

Actually, the populations that inhabited the area originally had a wide variety of beliefs, not Judaism.

YourBrickTiger · 09/10/2025 13:35

Apparently a peace deal is in the works which would be fantastic but will likely be overshadowed by Donald Trump taking credit for absolutely everything.

YourBrickTiger · 09/10/2025 13:44

Great, please tell me more about the wide variety of beliefs that were present in the area and for who temple mount is still to this day considered holy.

Alternatively, just acknowledge that it is an incredibly important place in Judaism and that the importance to Jewish people predates by far the building of the mosque on our holiest site. It's just fact. I don't know why @confusedlady10 is struggling so much with acknowledging that idea. Still waiting to hear what borders Israel should, in her expert opinion, be living within and also when Jewish people will have access to places of religious importance in Gaza.

My post was about the region in general and the beliefs which pre-date Judaism. Try this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religions_of_the_ancient_Near_East#:~:text=Offshoots%20of%20Proto%2DSemitic%20religion,primarily%20the%20ancient%20Iranian%20religion.

Oh, the antisemite who questions what "the Jews are doing to the Palestinians" is minimising the importance of the Temple Mount to Jews
How dare you Jews claim it is your holiest site! Don't you know the Canaanites were there before you?
😂
