Ihatetomatoes · 06/10/2025 10:42

I dont blame them. I would if I were Jewish.

They have been failed by their country, which is the UK. I wish them well and hope the UK can sort its anti semitism problems so it becomes safe for Jewish people again.

If Hamas don't care about the life of Gazans, why should I?

That would be like me saying if someone doesn't care about the lives of Jewish people why should I. I care because I'm a human being and I don't think anyone for anyr reason should be murdering any children. Why don't you care? You are saying you do not care about the citizens of Gaza being shot in line for aid that is being deliberately blocked? You do not care that infants are being shot in the head at point blank range while held by their mother's? You do not care about children with limbs blown to bits enduring amputations without anaesthetic in an effort to save their lives in a world where even basic medication isn't getting through? Just to clarify you do not care about any of those people?

MynameIchanged · 06/10/2025 20:49

It’s something dh and I have talked about a lot more lately and obviously following the attack.

the UK has a dark note for us now, there has been Nazi graffiti in my local area, obviously the elements of the marches and just a noticeable turn of hatred, even online. It doesn’t even make me angry at this point I’m just depressed as it’s an everywhere thing, you can see it online, not even just a UK one.

If you don't care about the murders of innocent children by the tens and hundreds of thousands, why on earth should anyone care about you?

Oh, you've made it perfectly clear you don't care!

Am Jewish. I learnt a long time ago people don't care about my feelings.

You literally overtly state you don't care about murdered children. You think FAIR PLAY TO HIM if the man starving and entire population to death? That is highly unsettling

You are concerned about people's care for your feelings while staying you don't care about murdered children and fair play to the murderer?

Genuine question as I’ve been googling - hundreds of thousands? Where are you seeing that? I see tens of thousands in total. Not that it isn’t a horrific tragedy but I keep seeing people on here talking about hundreds of thousands of deaths and I don’t know why.

Poetnojo · 06/10/2025 20:53

PevenseygirlQQ · 06/10/2025 20:05

if that’s all you took from my post then that’s sad.

Palestine has just as much right to exist as Israel. Northern Cyprus isn’t recognised, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

The State of Palestine is recognised as a sovereign state by 157 of the 193 member states of the United Nations btw.

Your clear distain for Palestinians is very obvious, have a good evening.

Palestine never existed so there is no 'homeland'
I don't have any distain for Palestinians but I do have utter distain for anyone who voted for or supports Hamas, as should any right minded people. Or would you not agree?

Sorry should say tens of thousands of children, hundreds of thousands of people

Patronising much? And please don't tell me what to do. Thanks.

Btw, Israel isn't my home land. I have no ties to it, no desire to visit it. However, millions of other Jews feel differently. I respect that. Given all the shit Jews have been through, there deserve someone to call their own, on land that was originally once theirs.

I am not responsible for Netanyahu's actions, and to be frank, I understand his stance. If Israel would have wanted to commit a genocide, they would have razed Gaza to the ground two years ago.

If you think I was patronising, I am sorry if you feel that way.

However, it's just that quite a number of Jewish people appear to justify the Israeli Government's actions on the basis of '"I am Jewish therefore I support anything that the Israeli government does and if you have a problem with that you are being anti-semitic''. Why does challenging the Israeli government make you anti-semitic? Why does that mean that being critical of a supporter of that government make you anti-semitic? This is fast being a tool to shut down criticism of the far right Israeli government and by extension, to shut down criticism of their supporters. Madness.

By the way, I'm sure, if you haven't already observed, most of Gaza has been razed to the ground. Being very nearly completed now rather than two years ago doesn't mean that a genocide hasn't taken place. A genocide that many international organisations and institutions have agreed has occurred in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli government/military.

Is waiting two years to commit to fully entrench the genocide, something that the Gazan people should be grateful to the Israeli government for?

Emm43 · 06/10/2025 20:55

There are many Jewish people in this country whose families have been here for hundreds of years and don’t have any traceable ancestry from other countries. I think the media and even Starmer’s speech perpetuates the myth that all Jewish people came over from elsewhere in the last 100 years, that simply isn’t true, just look at all the synangoes etc that are hundreds of years old. Most of the jewish population is indigenous through one or both parents

Barnbrack · 06/10/2025 20:58

dairydebris · 06/10/2025 20:47

Theres Jewish people telling you on this thread how intimidating they find these marches.
But you think its more important that your feelings are salved, so you can 'live with yourself', by protesting the actions of the Israeli government.

Someone's feelings have to come last I guess.

What about the woman above me complaining no one cares about her feelings while staying she doesn't care about murdered children? I don't think I'm the problem here pet

Whether it “exists” or not it’s still their homeland just as much as the Jews.

Do I have distain for people who voted for Hamas?, it was 20 years ago nearly and I doubt Hamas were forthcoming of what assholes they would be, for those happy with Hamas I’d say they were stupid yes, but distain no, I don’t feel distain for people who voted in Trump, Netenyahu, Putin or who voted for Brexit, most people (I hope) vote in good faith, and it’s their right to do so, doesn’t mean they are responsible for what the government then proceeds to do, I think we can agree most politicians and Governments lie.

Fucking hell.

Someone here telling Jewish people how to be a good Jew.

Oops!

Just like a lot of people tell me and my people how to be a good ethnic minority and stop having a chip on my shoulder.

It happens to us all not just to Jewish people and we also do it to each other.

Emm43 · 06/10/2025 21:29

As a Jew born in Btitain I do not feel safe. The antisemitism is endemic.
The marches are hateful, the BBC is biased & won't even call Hamas terrorists & will broadcast death chants to Jews, & I'm scared to use the NHS because of antisemitism.

Don't even ask me to about the antisemitism that I have experienced in our schools & universities. How do we pick a university for our children when the campuses are not safe for Jewish students? That is why we are talking about leaving our homes & country of birth, for our children's safety & future. So very sad 😔

I have to agree, myself, parents, grandparents and going back as far as can be traced were born here, given that most of my family/ancestors are actually Christian) One of my grandparents was Jewish (and British ancestry) I am proud to follow the religion and as British as the next person, I work for the NHS and have amazing colleagues thankfully
yet I am too scared to use the NHS myself aside from our local GP/ primary care services. To say even when having my recent baby I wanted to avoid going into hospital unless absolutely necessary, is it any wonder to people when there are nurses in Australia who have said they would harm Jewish patients and doctors in this country who have not even tried to hide their vile antisemitism. 20 years ago I went to school with, worked with and socialised with many Muslims and my religion was never an issue, I doubt that would be the case today. They were lovely people and it’s sad it seems a significant number been taken in by such awful propaganda.

The woman you're referring to hasn't actually killed those children though has she? In fact, she's never met any of those children, and none of those children know her opinions on them. She hasnt even hurt their feelings. She's done nothing to them. Unless you want her to take the blame for what BN and pals are up to?

However, the marches are hurting the feelings of Jewish people in the UK. If you've been on the marches, you've been a part of it.

Sorry to use such basic language, but it doesn't seem to be getting through.

The marches dont help the Gazans. In fact, they legitimize some of Hamas' propaganda, but thats another conversation. They dont help Gaza. But they do intimidate some Jewish people.

You makes your choices!

I agree so much with this post.

Unfortunately, I think this is what's happening now to many people. So much horror has been inflicted on the Gazans in disproportionate retribution by the Israeli government that we are being desensitised as a whole.

The fact so many Western governments have lost their moral compass and continue to arm the Israeli government to inflect such horror on hundreds of thousands of children and women and kill journalists for reporting on it. All while the world is watching.

If the western governments don't care about what is happening in Gaza, why should we care about Ukraine, why should we care when anybody who dies as a result of war or terrorism abroad or at home?

Essentialy, why should I care about someone's pain if they dwell on that pain for years and years and willfully can't ever see the another's person's pain. In the end we may need to give up caring about all that is happening internationally to protect our own sanity following the increasing break down of the rules based order around the world.

I didn’t say I agree with or support them no? We were talking about people who voted for them? I feel like you pick out things from people’s responses and try and spin it negatively, from any of my post what would make you think I agree with or like/ distain anyone who currently supports Hamas? I am trying to have a fair discussion with you, you seem to be picking a fight? Do you feel distain for me because I don’t align with your specific views?

If they were frequent would you want them banned?
