AIBU to be annoyed that Vinted sellers aren’t selecting InPost lockers anymore

When I first started buying from Vinted, I could often select the option to have stuff delivered to the InPost lockers. That’s by far the most convenient for me. Now it seems that the only delivery option is Evri - to be collected from the local Post Office. The PO has one counter open, always long queues, and obviously only open 9-5 during the week. I went on Saturday morning and there 9 people in front, all with parcels. I could select Evri home delivery, but that a) costs more and b) there’s not usually anyone home to receive the package.
Does anyone know why things changed on Vinted?

I tend to just sell and much prefer inpost - but you’re right, everyone seems to select evru for postage now!

MessageMystery · 05/10/2025 22:17

I love the lockers personally and would always choose to use them as both a buyer and seller. I’ve never had an issue, however I’m in a few Vinted Facebook Groups and so many people have had issues with them that I think people are starting to shy away from using them. Parcels get mixed up and lost a lot it would seem especially when people pick the digital label.

FlappyFish · 05/10/2025 22:18

They have made it so hard to change. Evri takes precedence and always comes up as the first option. I prefer inpost too and haven’t go into delivery which brings up Evri. Then in places it allows you to see the other options.

I have had a lot come by Evri and was getting annoyed sellers seeming to only offer it. But I think it’s some paid partnership they aren’t saying. The options are there. Just hard. I’m back to always selecting inpost as it’s easier for me to collect those too.

hidinginthebathroomagain · 05/10/2025 22:21

I’ve noticed this too. I actually asked a seller this week if they had impost becuase they’re didn’t know where their Royal Mail Drop off was and was told inpost didn’t come up so somethings going on

staybyyou · 05/10/2025 22:21

Inpost are always full here, so I can see why evri is preferable. But it is also the default option that comes up for collections, and it’s not obvious how to see what other couriers are available.

Carnation25 · 05/10/2025 22:23

As a buyer I found inpost lockers very covenient until the summer and then had several orders returned to the seller as the lockers were full.

cozycat1 · 05/10/2025 22:27

There has been some IT problems affecting in post, related to their integration with Yodel which has caused problesm with deliveries. I have a Vinted order sent to me via in post and its stuck stick somewhere in their system and I have had an email about.i have to wait almost 6 weeks before I can put in a claim to Vinted it not delivered by then.If you google it's has been reported in some newspapers. Wouldnt surprise me if Vinted have disabled inpost as an option for the moment.

ServusFidelis · 05/10/2025 22:31

My local coop is an Inpost collection point. They can only store 20 parcels. If any more arrive, they can't accept them- and the sale gets cancelled, the parcel is instantly returned to sender. The Inpost tracking, however, tells you to Go Go Go and collect..... It takes ages to get back to sender and I'm still waiting for 3 refunds from Vinted. Colossal inconvenience and waste of buyer and seller's time and money. Has happened to me 3 times in the past fortnight.

brunettemic · 05/10/2025 22:31

They’re always full here, in which case you couldn’t send it…Evri by us is great, just pop into a local shop, scan the QR code, stick it on and hand it over.

AmpleLilacQuail · 05/10/2025 22:33

InPost and Yodel merged recently and there’s been problems with their IT systems, parcels delayed and lockers full. I think people are avoiding InPost because of it.

PeonyPatch · 05/10/2025 22:34

I think they’ve paused Inpost and yodel currently. I’ve had the same issue with buyers not being able to select them and buying using dpd, Royal Mail and evri which I do not offer - it’s a pain! Inpost is so convenient for me as I live down the road from their lockers! I hope it comes back soon.

Kawsten · 05/10/2025 22:52

Inpost still seems to be available here, I've collected 2 parcels today and have seen quite a few listings today with Inpost as an option. I've not had the issues with the lockers that pp mentioned luckily. We've got 3 Inpost points within 10 mins walk so it's really convenient for me as a buyer, and I avoid using Evri pickups as the parcels are in a chaotic pile behind the counter and it takes ages to find mine. Plus it's simpler to interact with a locker than a human!

GandTtwice · 05/10/2025 22:57

I've found that evri is coming up cheaper than inpost recently so have used it instead. it used to be the other way round so I wonder if inpost merger has resulted in some price increases

PrawnAgain · 05/10/2025 22:57

I stopped using them because the nearest lockers to me are me a 20 minute walk away and are almost always full. Using them often means 3 or 4 40 minute round trips. It's just not worth it for me.

TokenGinger · 05/10/2025 23:03

We’re recently just got done Evri lockers near to me which is great. But I do much prefer InPost!

PrivateMusic · 05/10/2025 23:06

Have you not seen all the posts on Facebook and Reddit of the parcel mix ups because the delivery people aren’t putting the correct labels on the parcels when they pick them up. There are loads. It’s put me off using Inpost too.

vivainsomnia · 06/10/2025 07:12

I buy quite a lot and 80% is inpost.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 06/10/2025 07:14

As a buyer mine usually come via inpost.

As a seller I’m finding that people want Royal Mail or inpost.

This kind of thing is why I don’t use it when I sell.

Greencroc · 06/10/2025 07:19

I don’t know if this is still the case but I have it turned off because you can’t(or certainly couldn’t use to) stick your own label on them when it’s to be delivered to an inpost locker. I used it twice when it first started and both got lost (presumably because of sticker mix ups).

if I could print my own label I would use it (when the IT issues are sorted)

weirdly you can print your own inpost label when it’s to be delivered to someone’s home address though so I do have that turned on.

our local evri/Royal Mail locker has a printer attached to it so you can print them there. I’m just not comfortable sticking a parcel in a locker without any label attached at all and trusting someone else to get it right

I'm on a vinted Facebook group and whenever someone posts a question about inpost or issue the comments are normally why are you still using inpost?! I've personally never had an issue with them and always select to buy and sell with them. I've had 3 items go missing with evri though

Thebigonesgetaway · 06/10/2025 07:22

I don’t buy from anyone who only offers Evri, they are such a disaster here, usually delivering on the 3rd or 4th attempt.

TheNightingalesStarling · 06/10/2025 07:23

I would have to drive 15mins to InPost... or walk 2 minutes for Evri.

What works will be very localised.

letshavetea · 06/10/2025 07:30

Personally as a buyer and seller, in my area in post is great, so is Royal Mail and DPD.
I’ve had three items go missing with Evri and two with Yodel. I think it depends where you live? I’ve deselected Yodel, Relay and Evri but this gets overridden frequently by the Vinted system! 🤷‍♀️
