AIBU to be annoyed that Vinted sellers aren’t selecting InPost lockers anymore

When I first started buying from Vinted, I could often select the option to have stuff delivered to the InPost lockers. That’s by far the most convenient for me. Now it seems that the only delivery option is Evri - to be collected from the local Post Office. The PO has one counter open, always long queues, and obviously only open 9-5 during the week. I went on Saturday morning and there 9 people in front, all with parcels. I could select Evri home delivery, but that a) costs more and b) there’s not usually anyone home to receive the package.
Does anyone know why things changed on Vinted?

As a buyer, I've had lost parcels from Inpost and Evri. Once this happens it takes ages to get a refund, and it's really disappointing when it's an item you're looking forward to getting. I always choose Royal Mail tracked now, as for only a few pence more I know it will be delivered safely and hassle free.

I’ve bought a lot off Vinted this weekend as my baby has moved up a size and the only options available on everything I’ve bought are Evri and DPD. There’s an InPost locker 2 minutes from my house which is where I usually get things sent to. It seems odd that not one seller has selected InPost as an option so I’m wondering if Vinted has removed it without saying anything. I also had an issue with Vinted’s store locator for Yodel last week when I was sending a parcel - there is a shop minutes from me that definitely lets you send via Yodel but Vinted’s map showed not a single Yodel shop in my town (and there are LOTS).

SkankingWombat · 06/10/2025 08:55

InPost is always a pain, so I rarely choose it as a buyer and have disabled it as a seller. I have had so many parcels sent to an alternative collection point because my chosen one is full, but you can't choose the alternative. The 2 places they get sent instead are a PITA: not an area I am ever passing, so have to go massively out of my way, and neither have parking close by. You also don't get as long to collect (3 days vs 5 days), which isn't often a problem but sometimes life gets in the way particularly as you can never guarantee when the item will be posted and arrive.
On one occasion, InPost text to say my parcel was in the locker giving the last day of collection (no time, just the date). I was working in the opposite direction that week so I couldn't get there until the last day. The collection point is inside a supermarket that is shut 10pm to 7am. I had a message the night before, after the shop had closed reminding me I still needed to collect and had until 5.30am to do it. Obviously I couldn't get to it in time and it was returned to sender. Since then I only use it if there is no other option.

Anononony · 06/10/2025 09:06

The lockers are really impractical if you only have one near you as they fill up quickly, I've had an order time out because there was never a space when I was able to get there. I've also had an order go back to sender because they were unable to deliver it to the locker in time, presumably because it was full

Mislabelling is also more common than it should be, drivers getting labels wrong so people get the wrong packages and get refunds instead of what they ordered

They’re always full here, in which case you couldn’t send it…Evri by us is great, just pop into a local shop, scan the QR code, stick it on and hand it over.

There is a local shop that handles Evri parcels, but that doesn’t come up anymore as a collection option (it used to). It’s the PO, with its long queues, or nothing . I do try to select another option, but recently there’s no choice.

Have you not seen all the posts on Facebook and Reddit of the parcel mix ups because the delivery people aren’t putting the correct labels on the parcels when they pick them up. There are loads. It’s put me off using Inpost too.

No, I’m not on those sites, just Mumsnet, hence my question here.

I sell a lot on Vinted (have lots of children), and I removed InPost lockers because the amount of non-collections from buyers was ridiculous.
InPost is the only option where a buyer will receive a full refund if they fail to collect - but I have to wait ages for the item to be returned (if it ever is).
Sadly it just isn't viable, when I've used packaging materials, ink for the printer, and petrol to get to the lockers - just for someone to change their mind and not pick it up.

namechange3005 · 06/10/2025 09:52

I like buying via inpost as it’s round the corner, BUT it’s almost always full if I’m trying to send something, as are the other 2 local ones. I have enough going on in my life than playing locker roulette to make £2 on an old t-shirt 😅

DarkRootsBlue · 06/10/2025 15:09

I used to like InPost but have had same problems others mentioned.

Lockers often full, and I’ve also currently had a parcel ‘lost’ in the system for the past 3 weeks (that I bought). Vinted has given another month for it to turn up, but then I have to remember to complain within 2 days if it doesn’t turn up, to get a refund. There’s a high chance I won’t even be around to pick it up when it does turn up as I have several weekends away coming up, and they only give 3 days to collect.

Bboy1234 · 06/10/2025 15:31

As a seller its a nightmare, ive had to drive around for an hour in the past trying to find one open and the only mistakes ive ever had have been inpost, twice in a two.week period they mixed up labels and lost my items so I gave up on it , too much hassle

ridl14 · 06/10/2025 15:35

That's funny, I way prefer Evri! So efficient and go to my local shop who are brilliant at managing it. The InPost lockers aren't bad but I've had a few InPost parcels go to a shop that's out of my way and the staff are hopeless at either taking or handing over a parcel.

My last trip someone was actually really abrupt with me telling me I should have collected it the day before (he got the date wrong) and that I had to give him the correct name (I had) and he'd check one last time for me - turned out it was a mistake on their end that they couldn't find it for ages.

Just sold on Vinted for the first time and it never gave me the option

If you go on your profile you can select which couriers you want to use under ‘Postage'

throway · 06/10/2025 15:48

As a seller, I took the InPost option off. Although I live in central London, the closest ones are a good 20+ min walk away from me, and more often than not, they're full meaning I have to walk another 10mins to get to the next ones. The items I sell are usually around £10-20, so it's simply not worth a 40-60min roundtrip.

RossGellersCat · 06/10/2025 16:13

I bought something via In Post just now so they haven't locked it down on Vinted now? I'm lucky in that I live in a village with InPost and there's always spare lockers (all other methods are a drive away for me to get so it puts me off when sellers can't offer InPost!) but thats really disappointing news about them merging with yodel as in my experience they've always been a nightmare. 🤦🏻‍♀️

ClassicBBQ · 06/10/2025 16:13

I only do Evri because it's the only walkable drop off point for me.

MidnightMeltdown · 06/10/2025 16:16

I think that there might be an issue with Yodal and Inpost atm. I’ve sold quite a few things on Vinted in the past week, and every buyer has selected Evri, even though I have all couriers selected. This makes me think that Vinted are only offering buyers the Evri option atm.

Someone was saying on another thread recently that Yodal parcels are not being collected from drop off locations. I wonder whether Vinted have temporarily disabled these couriers due to issues.

Ok 👌

Our local shop has an inpost locker outside but the past few times ive had to collect, its gone into the shop. It now says Inpost shop | locker on my emails.

Which is quite annoying as I chose inpost so I could collect myself at anytime.

Sleepthief · 07/10/2025 10:39

I offer InPost and Evri to buyers (both equally convenient for me) , but now I come to think of it pretty much everything I’ve sold lately has been Evri, so I wonder if it is Vinted driven, rather than sellers… 🤔

KitsyWitsy · 07/10/2025 10:40

I like the lockers. If I can't get inpost locker, I choose to have it delivered to home.

I did have one parcel I sent go missing but it turned up eventually. I also always print off the labels.

Have you not got a local shop nearby that takes Evri parcels?

There has been some IT problems affecting in post, related to their integration with Yodel which has caused problesm with deliveries. I have a Vinted order sent to me via in post and its stuck stick somewhere in their system and I have had an email about.i have to wait almost 6 weeks before I can put in a claim to Vinted it not delivered by then.If you google it's has been reported in some newspapers. Wouldnt surprise me if Vinted have disabled inpost as an option for the moment.

This.

If you look on the Yodel/Inpost website it explains the delays.

I too have parcels ‘stuck’ for weeks. No items and no money released to buyer or seller.
Not sure they will ever arrive.

Vinted have extended the time allowed before being able to claim for none delivery so all money on hold until then end of October for my mid September purchase. ☹️

Be very glad @MimiGC that you can't access Inpost!

Huge issues with vinted/inpost/yodel at the moment.
