Personally I do but I feel it’s fine

Yes. One or two won't make you fat as long as you eat healthily otherwise ( no crisps, fries, sausage rolls and the likes) .

TheSilentSister · 04/10/2025 21:11

I rarely eat it, just don't get excited. Cheese, nuts, even crisps - are my thing.
Very occasionally I'll have sweet things - pancakes with lashings of syrup, rice pudding with lashing of syrup. I love those guylian chocolates and the odd biscuit. Honestly though, it's about once a month, if that.

Blingismything · 04/10/2025 21:12

Yes

flowertoday · 04/10/2025 21:13

I have a small chocolate bar ( chunky kitkat or similar ) and / or a small piece of cake and some crisps almost every day. I used to eat alot of toast with butter, peanut butter and jam ( at least three slices ) a day too. Have given up the toast as bread doesn't like me.
I am borderline underweight, and try and choose high calorie / small size foods. I am a lazy eater with a small appetite.
I am thinking portion size is likely the thing with food, not cake/ chocolate per se.

HRchatter · 04/10/2025 21:13

Yes, At the moment, it’s one of my few pleasures in life

TheGreatWesternShrew · 04/10/2025 21:17

I have a few squares of dark chocolate most days. I don’t see it as an issue - it has flavonoids lol.

WaltzingWaters · 04/10/2025 21:19

I do, yes. But in moderation. I like a little something sweet after lunch and dinner. But I also exercise a lot, eat healthy main meals, and maintain a size 8-10, feeling healthy.

Christmascakeforbreakfast · 04/10/2025 21:20

No because I’d be fat as butter

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 04/10/2025 21:20

Yes.

PegDope · 04/10/2025 21:23

Slim doesn’t equal healthy otherwise slim people
wouldn’t have heart attacks and get cancer. So just saying it for those who happily have crisps/cakes/biscuits but “it’s ok cos I’m slim”. Reference to the poster who is slim but was tested for PCOS which essentially is insulin resistance.

I have 2 squares of 90% chocolate after dinner. I’m keto so everything else is out. I don’t bother making keto treats like cakes or biscuits because I couldn’t moderate them. I need to abstain.

I’m slim now but I lost 8 stone on keto so need to be careful to keep the weight off.

Mrspatmoresapprentice · 04/10/2025 21:26

No. I’m not particularly arsed about biscuits or chocolate. I probably have a small amount of one or the other maybe once a week. But I am also not in the MN “that salad of one lettuce leaf and a cube of cheese is massive” category. I eat a lot. I just prefer “real” food. And lots of it 🤣🤣🤣

isitmyturn · 04/10/2025 21:27

I don't follow any diets because I am a healthy weight but eat healthy meals and don't snack during the day. I have a slice of cake and mug of tea for supper every day, that's the only sweet food I eat.

surprisebaby12 · 04/10/2025 21:28

Yes I rely heavily on little treats. Doesn’t help with losing weight though

Ginlovingmumof4 · 04/10/2025 21:30

Not every day but if I fancy some chocolate or a biscuit, I’ll have some. Everything in moderation. I think denying yourself something makes you crave it more.

Mumofsoontobe3 · 04/10/2025 21:32

Yes! I have a biscuit (or 5) with a cup of tea as soo as we get the kids to sleep. We have 2 under 2 and a 6 year old so it's a signal it's quite down time in our house and I enjoy it. No issues with my weight and eat an otherwise healthy diet so it's a small everyday joy.

AndresyFiorella · 04/10/2025 21:33

Yes. A break time digestive (or 3) dunked in tea is a necessity!

Coffeeblanketandabookplz · 04/10/2025 21:34

Yes I have sweet treats every day, always chocolate and sometimes biscuits with tea or some cake, I don’t drink alcohol so I let myself enjoy any food I want, I’m not overweight

ConnieHeart · 04/10/2025 21:36

I can barely remember a single day in my whole life (I'm 52) that I haven't eaten chocolate or cake or both. I've never been anywhere near overweight so I guess I burn it off & I eat a very balanced diet

Alittlefrustrated · 04/10/2025 21:37

CustardySergeant · 04/10/2025 20:16

I don't. I can't eat anything that isn't under 5% fat. That's no chocolate, biscuits, cake, cheese, butter and a hundred other (lovely) things.

Is that because of high cholesterol?

AramintaWildbloode · 04/10/2025 21:37

Yes always.
In a much smaller quantity thanks to mounjaro but I would never give up everything I like.
Life is too short for lettuce.

ImthatBoleyngirl · 04/10/2025 21:38

I have a chocolate bar/cookies and a packet of crisps every day without fail, and have done for my entire adult life. I'm 46 now. I stay slim as long as I exercise. If I stop exercising for any reason, then I start to put weight on.

InfoSecInTheCity · 04/10/2025 21:40

No but I have T2 diabetes and insulin resistant PCOS. I have had to really restrict carbs in order to keep my sugars in the normal range. Even a small amount causes big rises which are ok occasionally but not regularly.

Legomania · 04/10/2025 21:44

Yes. If I start putting on weight I may reconsider.

CopperWhite · 04/10/2025 21:47

I eat chocolate every day and am slim with the right BMI. I wouldn’t be if I ate biscuits every day though. It’s a lot easier to limit myself to 1 small bar of chocolate than it is to open a packet of biscuits and only eat one or two.

Nevereatcardboard · 04/10/2025 21:52

Yes. I eat three meals a day, have a biscuit or chocolate at teatime and another after dinner. I’ve never had a problem with my weight, so I’m guessing it’s down to portion size.
