The police and others have called out in the hope that there will be no pro Palestine marches tomorrow. They are stretched and say it will divert resources from trying to protect the Jewish people following the terrorist attack yesterday.

I agree. No march tomorrow AIBU?

The Home Secretary has also asked for no marches above

Edited

The home secretary should stop arming genocide then. There would be no marches if the UK weren't complicit in genocide.

5MinuteArgument · 03/10/2025 16:45

46% of UK Muslims supporting Hamas is a BIG problem. But its all the useful idiots on the marches that get my goat. There's many other wars going on where people are being persecuted in huge numbers: Sudan, Yemen etc.

But in those cases The Jews aren't involved as the bad guys, so the useful idiots aren't interested.

anotherside · 03/10/2025 16:34

So are you actually claiming that Israel hasn’t flattened Gaza with the equivalent of six Hiroshima bombs worth of firepower?

Is this video of Gaza fake? Because if it isn’t, it’s quite clearly evidence of a massive war crime.

No one is saying Israel hasn’t been aggressive. Both sides that been aggressive towards each other for YEARS. BOTH sides - yes even the hamas billionaires that seem to have very sophisticated weaponary…(who’s funding that I wonder?)

NototerrorismIntheUK · 03/10/2025 15:22

Not even a pause at all? No self reflection? I walked past one before and it was all chanting of rally songs for Palestinian like free Palestine and globalise the intifada. No mention of getting rid of the terrorists or singing about freeing the hostages though. Not Jewish but it felt intense

ridiculous comment! why shouldn't Palestine be free? why shouldn't children have food and a home??

quite frankly i am sick of different religious groups thinking they are right.

we need PEACE for all. Muslims, Jews, Christians and anyone else.

Hamas on 7th Oct was WRONG, but so too is the behaviour of Israel in Gaza WRONG.
there needs to be peace and fast and if people want to to protest for peace then they should. We all have the right to live a peaceful, happy life

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:46

I’m not sure that “jihad” means what you think it means in this context. It doesn’t just mean holy war. It has other definitions such as internal struggle to be a good Muslim.

His parents should have asked on the baby name board here!

SunnySideDeepDown · 03/10/2025 16:46

NotsoLovinLefties · 03/10/2025 15:28

When will you be marching for the Christian Nigerians?
No, didn’t think so 😒

Exactly this. I’m sick of the hypocrisy in it all. All the do gooders, supporting a nation run by terrorists, who started the war through terrorism, who are still hiding hostages, but seemingly giving no shit for the other nations experiencing war and genocide.

Now we’ll see backtracking, people suddenly wanting to look like they care about the Jewish communities.

And when there’s increased terrorist attacks in the UK targeting the general public, they’ll suddenly be awakened to what they’ve supported.

Hatred towards Jews (and most minority groups to be honest) is on the rise. It’s time we promote tolerance and inclusivity and not terrorist and right wing governments who actively go against it.

What!?! This makes me feel sick. There is something very wrong with people!

Last time I checked, we live in a free country (sort of), where freedom of expression is allowed (for now).

And you think Hamas will enable that?

Hopefully Hamas will soon agree to the ceasefire, what will the march people do then?

FirstNationsEnglish · 03/10/2025 16:48

No we need to keep marching until Israel stops murdering children.

Like Hamas don't?

Long way to go until they get anyhere near the half a million we wiped out in the War On Terror.
That wasnt a genocide tho, so probably doesnt count.

you seem to be unaware of the millions who marched against the war in Iraq

If they gave a shit about the Gazans, they'd call upon Hamas to accept the peace plan. I don't think I've seen a single sign calling for that.

Because Hamas have their own agenda. It is not a Palestinian child's fault that Hamas have hostages, children don't deserve to be brutally murdered or have their entire family wiped out because of what a group of men in their country did. We need to be their voice, to speak up for a 2 year old who has lost limbs, a 5 year old who can no longer walk, a 3 year old who have lost their entire family, thousands of children who have lost their homes. I keep seeing similar posts on here constantly grouping people as one thing or the other. Why can't you feel empathy for everyone that is brutally attacked and murdered. Yes there will always be people in groups that use protests for their own agenda, to cause trouble but that does not outweigh the vast majority of good people who truly want children and families to be able to live peacefully. Life is not black and white. Jewish people deserve to live peacefully and people in Gaza deserve to be able to live peacefully as well. Unfortunately thousands of Palestinians are facing horrific violence, suffering and starvation every day. Surely that needs to be protested.

There were some yesterday I believe.

Shocking.

Hardly. What happened yesterday is happening tenfold In Gaza.

Onmytod24 · 03/10/2025 16:49

We ignored the Nazis war camps, didn’t we? History will judge us.

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:50

Surely some will volunteer to be victims, after all it's our government's fault and think of the social media cred.

SunnySideDeepDown · 03/10/2025 16:47

hopefully, but two wrongs don't make a right

@Justagirl95 what loss of live in the UK is enough not to be minimised?

Strawberrryfields · 03/10/2025 16:52

Dappy777 · 03/10/2025 15:48

The British left care far more about the Palestinians than they do about Britain. I have nothing but goodwill towards both sides in the Arab-Israeli conflict, but I’m too busy clinging on to what is left of my own English-British identity to worry about Palestine. Mass immigration and multiculturalism have been imposed on this country and have completely destroyed our identity. Someone hung an England flag near me and a group of people tore it down. They filmed themselves doing it while a small crowd cheered. That is what the left think of me and my nation. They cheer when an England flag is torn down from a lamppost IN ENGLAND, yet they expect me to care about other nations.

‘Clinging on’ get a grip 🙄 If you have such strong identity issues I recommend counselling. Immigrants were actively invited to this country to help rebuild after the war, a war they also fought in and died in on our behalf. So people like you can make them feel unwelcome in a country they’ve made their home. Pathetic. You’re an embarrassment to me and my nation. And I’ve no doubt it’s people like you who’ve co-opted the flag for your far right bollocks, making decent non- bigoted English people less likely to want to use it. A problem of your own making.

NettleTea · 03/10/2025 16:52

HappyGolmore2 · 03/10/2025 15:19

We have the right to peaceful protest and freedom of speech, regardless of how you feel about the cause, so marches should go ahead.
Trying to use hate incidents to shut down freedom of expression is disgraceful.

there is a time for freedom of speech, and there is a time for having some empathy for a community, many of whom have no affilliation beyond faith, who have been the victims of a terrorist attack. Dancing and cheering on a holy day leaves a really bad taste, whatever side of the argument you are positioned. Its called having some self awareness and respect for ALL lives and victims of terror.

Not all Israelis are Jewish.
Not all Jews are Israeli or support Israel.
Not all Jews who support Israel, support what the current government are doing.
Not all Arabs support Hamas or Palestine.

Hamas started this war. Hamas could stop this war but they would rather sacrifice their own people.
Why aren’t people out protesting against Hamas?
And no, I will not be engaging in debate with semi literate fools who don’t even have a basic understanding of the complicated issues involved.
The anti Jewish sentiment around in this country is disgraceful. If you intend to join a pro Palestine march this weekend you are showing either your true ignorance or your anti semetism.

Paganpentacle · 03/10/2025 16:40

You're OK with starving children then?

hunger and suffering during the war is not the same as starving someone to death.
Of course you know that UN admits that they are inefficient in distributing humanitarian aid and de facto only Israel with help of America is managing doing so?
app.un2720.org/tracking
Stephane Dujarric claims UN can't work with Israel to distribute aid for which UN is responsible, but at the same time UN claims that they can't do a thing without help from Israel. So, do you all really care about these children? You are not. You just want Hamas to won. Marches started on October 7th. Weeks before even one IDF solder put a foot on Gazan soil. But when hostages were still alive. Already being tortured.
