The police and others have called out in the hope that there will be no pro Palestine marches tomorrow. They are stretched and say it will divert resources from trying to protect the Jewish people following the terrorist attack yesterday.

I agree. No march tomorrow AIBU?

Where are they? These Hamas billionaires?

Haniyeh $4 billion, his son $3 billion, Mashal $ 4 billion. They fly in private jets etc etc. Don’t you know these things? Do you think they’re scrabbling around in the dirt and danger like real freedom fighters.

JollyLilacBee · 03/10/2025 22:54

Where are they? These Hamas billionaires?

In Qatar or Turkey of course. As far away as they want to be from their people. Pocketing money from intercepted aid and medication. Taking donations from other middle east countries and putting them in their own bank accounts. Delightful people that they are…

DaringlyDizzy · 03/10/2025 22:39

Yes, from the one end to the other the Palestians have the right to freedom?

What gave Britian the right to sign over the land. Would you like it if the British Goverment came along and kicked you out your home and handed it over and then killed you and tortured your grandkids for fighting it back? And when you were rehomed you were rehomed to a hovel?

Because this was the Jews land - it is where they originated, it was from where they were first exiled. Do you understand why the Jews need their own land? Do you understand why that was Israel? Do you understand that after the 2nd world war there were lots of changes of borders? Do you understand that the Jews were being reinstated in their home land?

JollyLilacBee · 03/10/2025 23:21

Noone said they were continuously bombing those countries. Why would they?

Because Hamas are there?

The sheer number of people who appear to think that the protesters are just prejudiced and selfish people waving flags over nothing very much absolutely astonishes me. Well over 60,000 men, women and children have been killed. Vast numbers have been displaced. Starving people queuing for food have repeatedly been shot dead. Children have had faces, limbs blown off. Innocent injured lie screaming in hospitals because they are out of anaesthetic. Hospitals have been bombed (the excuse being that Hamas fighters were apparently present). Entire cities have been reduced to smoking, choking rubble. It is still going on: children are still dying. But because a twisted maniac committed an atrocity here, those moved to protest must stay quiet for the weekend. I have no more words.

SharonEllis · 03/10/2025 23:20

They are bombing Gaza to destroy Hamas who perpetrated the 7 October atrocity and started this war.

I literally followed YOUR logic to get you to see how you were holding two different states to two different standards and you still got lost. Bloody hell theres no hope

Icreatedausernameyippee · 03/10/2025 23:22

Marches and protest against the genocide in Gaza, calling for our government to take action and our people to boycott Israel aren't Anti-Semitic.
Judaism and Israel aren't one in the same.
Unfortunately the daily killing of Palestinians will not stop because two people have been murdered in the UK and so the protests should continue.

Autumngirl5 · 03/10/2025 23:22

HappyGolmore2 · 03/10/2025 15:19

We have the right to peaceful protest and freedom of speech, regardless of how you feel about the cause, so marches should go ahead.
Trying to use hate incidents to shut down freedom of expression is disgraceful.

That’s true but after yesterday’s atrocity surely people will have some respect at the moment.

Such a shame to see you follow zero jewish voices on this. Easily remedied! Google is your friend. But lets start with K W Bogen and Sim Kern is another one

Ahh. I didn't realise your "sources" were people who cause a huge amount of controversy in the Jewish community.

Can you provide details of peer reviewed texts please? Not inflammatory influencers/ "journalists"

Because Hamas are there?

Why would they continuously bomb them? Only a small number of Hamas leaders have ever been there. What a bizarre idea.

But you realise that Hamas are not the Palestinian people? Any more than the Labour Party is Britain?

Please leave your home in England ASAP and hand it over to a descendant of a Saxon. Make sure you leave with nothing, on foot, as the Palestinians were forced to

This is why any talk regarding Palestine should be kept out of aibu. It takes a quick Google. Even a search on bbc iplayer. 7th October was not the start of all this.

Wanting a homeland doesnt give you the right to steal someone else's and turn someone else into a displaced people

I hate to point this out, but the area of land that was to be set aside as a Jewish homeland in 1948 by United Nations resolution 181 - was actually controlled by us British. We took it over from the Ottomans. Who were Turkish. Most of the land in the area was government controlled, which is why the UN thought they could divide it up and reserve a fairly small bit (about the size of Wales) for the Jews.

I suspect the 400 000 Jews who were displaced from various Middle Eastern countries where they’d lived for literally thousands of years might also have a few things to say about who’d been ‘displaced’ from where, but you’re not interested in Jewish refugees, are you?

It's not antisemitic to point out that she's a Pick Me idiot and a distinctly antisemitic Jew, as they sadly do exist.

Whilst children continue to be blown apart and bombed and starved?

Not many pictures now coming out of starving people. Why’s that? We were shown a handful of children who were clearly under nourished, but then nothing. Don’t you think if famine was an ongoing problem, we would be shown pictures every day? More propaganda.

The biggest spike in antisemitism we have ever seen in this country was immediately after the horror of 7 October, before Israel had responded. A sizeable contingent of the pro-Pal/anti-Israel movement has no empathy or respect.

The majority of Jews living in Israel are European. They're not of ME heritage. It was not their land to be returned to.
Furthermore, since settling into the land that was awarded to them after the WW, they (the Jews that live in Israel) have occupied Palestinian land by force. They have murdered and displaced Palestinian people for decades.
People went out of their homes in the morning and returned to find they no longer owned homes.

A fairly small bit.... how much would you say, compared to bit initially divied up, has been taken as illegal settlements since then?

Don't muddy the waters with facts, will you!? Sadly the history is little understood, quite deliberately.
